EDITORIAL That's why Van of the Year 2015, the industry's most prestigious international award, is a milestone for Iveco. It recognises our commitment as manufacturers of vehicles capable of lowering labour costs and being comfortable, reliable, safe and sustainable all at the same time. It recognises that we know how to read workers' needs with a vehicle that comes in an infinite number of versions, all equally valid and innovative. It affirms the success of an idea that has followed the evolution of the entrepreneurial world for 36 years, interpreting its needs.
Customers at the Centre of Attention. This isn't just a simple statement of intent, but rather the very substance of the daily commitment of all the men and women at Iveco who work to design, produce and sell vehicles to be the favourite job partners of transportation professionals. And it is precisely the customer we were thinking about when we revamped the New Daily, the third generation of Iveco's light-duty commercial vehicles, with 80% of its parts entirely revamped, offering cubic cargo capacity efficiency at the top of its category, best-in-class cargo/load capacities and car comfort and drivability, as well as even lower fuel consumption.
This year the journalists on the Van of the Year panel of judges had a particularly arduous task in what was the fiercest competition since 1991 (the year the award was established) with all of the industry's most important brands in the running. And yet, the New Daily was the 23 judges' top choice, with a margin of 17 points over the other finalists; it is truly emblematic for a vehicle that has already proven winning and that is now the perfect "business partner" for our customers. In line with our values: technology, sustainability, lower operating costs and working with the customer also defined Iveco's attendance of the Hanover trade fair. The entire exhibit area embodied the strategy of brand commitment to create value by lowering the operating costs for those that use our vehicles day in and day out.
For example, we're talking about the Stralis' innovative "Efficiency Pack, "a package" of technologies to reduce consumption and maintenance costs. Specifically regarding operating costs, thanks to innovation there will be another 2% drop in consumption, a figure that can be improved even more by using the services provided by IVECONNECT, an infotelematic module made for Stralis. In Hanover, Iveco underscored that research into new, avant-garde technological solutions and reading future scenarios is an integral part of its corporate strategy. Indeed, Iveco Vision was at the centre of the booth, a highly economically and environmentally sustainable concept that is also a true and genuine research and development laboratory for technological solutions and future means of transportation which constitute the natural evolution of the Iveco light-duty commercial range. It will be a sensation. Care and attention towards our customers therefore also looks to the future with the clear intention to improve and achieve success together, starting from the Van of the Year award— an award that we dedicate to all those who use an Iveco vehicle to do their job, day in and day out. Enjoy reading all about it. Maurizio Pignata

NEW DAILY VAN OF THE YEAR: JUST FOR OUR CUSTOMERS IVECO'S REVAMPED VEHICLE TRIUMPHS IN HANOVER. THE PRESTIGIOUS AWARD GIVEN TO THE VEHICLE THAT MORE THAN ANY OTHER WAS CONCEIVED FOR WORKERS. «We are proud that our New Daily has been awarded the prestigious recognition of Van of the Year. This vehicle represents an important step forward for Iveco's improvement of the total cost of ownership, comfort, drivability productivity, and sustainability. We would like to dedicate this award to our customers, who can count on a reliable and safe job partner every day.» These are the words of Pierre Lahutte, Iveco Brand President, as he received the award in Hanover from the president of the panel of judges, Jarlath Sweeney. This important international recognition is assigned each year by a panel of judges composed of 23 journalists from the most authoritative specialised European magazines to the vehicle "that has provided the greatest contribution to the efficiency and sustainability of road transportation in terms of environmental impact and safety."
This year the competition was fiercer than it has ever been since the award was established in 1991. Iveco Daily triumphed with a margin of 17 points over the other finalists: Fiat, Ford, Mercedes-Benz and Renault/ Opel. The New Daily was the 23 judges' top choice when votes were cast. The 65th International Trade Fair in Hanover, the most important European event in the commercial and industrial vehicle industry, was the backdrop for the awards ceremony of this prestigious prize. New Daily is therefore Van of The Year 2015: a due recognition for a vehicle that Iveco revamped 80% of the parts of and that offers cubic cargo capacity efficiency at the top of its category, best-in-class cargo/load capacities and car comfort and drivability, as well as even lower fuel consumption.
What more can we say? The Daily is always improving in a perfect balance between its extraordinary heritage—which has not only been preserved, but also strengthened—and the push for technological innovation. Transportation professionals' favourite business partner, it offers the comfort and practicality of a light-duty van while maintaining the values of reliability, efficiency and versatility that have always made this vehicle an exemplar in the industry. Right from the design stage, the third generation of Daily was conceived for customers to satisfy their business needs. This grants them big savings on fuel expenses, and therefore, a better overall cost of ownership. These are the rewards deriving from the many avant-garde technological solutions integrated, which above all aim to lower consumption.
4 Pierre Lahutte (right) receives the VAN OF THE YEAR award from the president of the panel of judges, Jarlath Sweeney.
Savings average 5.5% based on the different vehicle versions, but on urban missions can be lowered even more up to 14% using EcoPack (which includes Start&Stop). Aerodynamics were improved especially in vans, and the coefficient of aerodynamic penetration (Cx) was cut by 6% (from 0.335 to 0.316). The Quad Leaf suspension, which guarantees outstanding drivability without compromising the vehicle's consolidated agility in tight spaces, and the new 8-speed HI-MATIC automatic transmission, a novelty introduced to an international audience in Hanover which sets high standards for flexibility, efficiency and affordability, ensuring absolutely smooth driving, are an emblem of the high level of excellence offered by the New Daily's technological solutions.
That's not all. Vehicle comfort, too, was further perfected. The driver of the New Daily has an ever more comfortable and quiet cab that guarantees the position and sensation typical of driving a car and offers a plethora of storage compartments, both open and closed. The controls' ergonomics is at the top of their category and accompanies greater soundproofing, a more efficient air conditioning system and excellent driver comfort for all load conditions. Emphasis on the customers, but also respect for the environment— indeed, at Hanover the compressed natural gas (CNG) that maintains the same strengths as this vehicle's diesel version in terms of torque, load capacity and drivability debuted in Hanover.
As we know, the chassis frame with side members makes the New Daily not just bodybuilders' favourite base, providing them sturdiness and suppor ting heavy loads, but thanks to its structure it is also ideal for putting cylinders on the Natural Power version, which does not cut into the amount of room for cargo or the body customisations par t of the vehicle. In brief, there is loads of technology and major emphasis on people, whether they be customers of large fleets or self-employed lorry drivers. The Daily's new life has just begun.

A CHANGE OF GEAR FOR THE DAILY
DEBUT OF THE EIGHT-SPEED HI-MATIC AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. SMOOTH DRIVING, DRIVER COMFORT AND ECONOMICAL OPERATING COSTS ARE ITS MAIN CHARACTERISTICS. The new HI-MATIC automatic transmission that will go on the Daily range was introduced in a first-ever debut. Thanks to a specific set-up for industrial use, it guarantees maximum efficiency and savings on operating costs, ensuring great driver comfort and best-inclass performance at the same time. Indeed, the "change" happens in less than 200 ms, allowing for a progression unequalled in the light-duty industrial vehicles sector. Furthermore, based on the mission the driver can use it in either the sequential or automatic mode, with the additional option of two modes managed entirely electronically:
6
ECO, with fluid gear changing at low speeds to emphasise comfort and keep consumption down to a minimum or POWER, with faster gear switching and at higher speeds to exalt performance— by pairing these two modes, ECO and POWER, with electronic management of the eight speeds, the driver always gets the most out of the Daily. The new strategy is adapting gear change to the driver's driving style, allowing you to change down up to three gears without altering driving pleasure and control over the vehicle.

SUZZARA: THE HOUSE OF DAILY THE VEHICLE WAS BUILT AT THE PLANT IN LOMBARDY. LATEST GENERATION TECHNOLOGY AT THE SERVICE OF QUALITY. A strong tie between the Suzzara plant and the Daily. For 36 years—that is, since the first line was introduced—the plant has only produced on this model. Over time, the Daily has evolved greatly. Without however betraying its philosophy of sturdy, versatile vehicles, qualities closely linked to the technical solution of the chassis frame with side members separate from the body. But although this concept has remained unaltered, as for the rest today's Daily is an entirely new product. The new generation of this product has meant considerable investments at Suzzara, especially on the welding floor, where there are about 150 latest generation robots.
Those working at the plant number 1650. The production capacity is 300 vehicles a day. And rarely are two alike. With its different customisations, chassis lengths and engines, the New Daily is in fact available in over 6000 versions. As for body colours, there are a whole 400. There is a truly keen eye for quality. The buzzword is "zero tolerance", and the most advanced methods are used to reach the objective of building products without defects such as the "masters" used for the dimensional control of the bodies, bodywork panels and cab parts. World Class Manufacturing activities are also extremely helpful.
Suzzara reached the "silver" level at year-end 2012 and is running for gold. The plant near Mantua has worked really hard on logistics to power the production line and on workstation organisation. And in fact, the New Daily was born in a factory already set up according to WCM rationale. Also regarding quality, we may recall the new system for commissioning the seal to stop water seepage, similar to those used on the Ferrari and Maserati. This brings its closer to the most sophisticated automotive technology, also underscored by the visit to the plant that produced the line of Maserati coming from Peking and going to Modena to celebrate the 100 years of the "brand of the trident".

ENTIRELY COMFORTABLE
THE CAMPER VERSION OF THE NEW DAILY WAS REALLY POPULAR AT THE OPEN-AIR TOURISM TRADE FAIRS IN DÜSSELDORF AND PARMA. The third-generation of the Iveco Daily was also at the centre of attention at the last Düsseldorf and Parma camper trade fairs. The camper version was introduced in Düsseldorf in the 7.2 ton cowled, 170 hp with 4750mm wheelbase and 5.6 ton cab, and 205 hp with 4350mm wheelbase versions, while at Parma visitors' attention was entirely drawn by the New Light Daily 35C17 specifically designed to outfit campers and equipped with a 3-L 170 hp engine, and the new Daily 35S15V van with 2.3-L 146 hp engine and 10.8 m³ cargo capacity. The New Daily morphs perfectly into a vehicle for your free time.
8
Indeed, right from the design stage it was made to be used both for work and tourism. Among its advantages, the most important comes from its supporting chassis with side members that makes it possible to outfit different types of campers, from the more compact versions to more luxurious motorhomes. The New Daily is also the only one in its category to offer gross vehicle weight from 3.5 to 7.2, with a maximum load on the front axle up to 2500 kg. Driver comfort is ensured by powerful thrifty engines paired with the new eight-speed Hi-Matic automatic transmission. An ideal range for the work of bodybuilders, who increasingly opt for the Daily to create their campers.
THE EUROCARGO CAMPER The spotlight is also on the Iveco Eurocargo, presented in Düsseldorf in the cowled Euro VI 250 hp version. Indeed, the vehicle is just right for being made into a camper. European bodybuilders choose Eurocargo because of its flexibility and customisation options, characteristics that make it the ideal vehicle for creating high-end campers. The Eurocargo range is on the market with 7.5, 8, 9, 10, or 12-ton gross vehicle weights, two 190 or 210 hp "Tector 5" engines, three 220, 250 and 280 hp "Tector 7" engines and two types of cabs (chassis or cowl cab).

AID FOR RESEARCH IVECO DELIVERS A DAILY 4X4 TO THE MISSION OF THE SAPIENZA UNIVERSITY OF ROME ENGAGED IN DIGS IN IRAQ. It has a crew cab suitable for transporting archaeologists and equipment, a raised chassis that ensures an excellent field of vision and all-wheel-drive capable of facing even the roughest terrain. These are some of the characteristics of the Daily 4x4 that Iveco handed over to the Sapienza University of Rome mission last July, which for over four years has been carrying out digs at the Iraqi site in Abu Theirah, an ancient Sumerian city dating back to the third millennium A.D., just 15 km from Nasiriyah. These are seemingly short distances but that become nearly insurmountable during the rainy season when the vast floodplains where the ruins stand change into a swamp.
Arriving "on the field" precisely in these days, the Daily 4x4 therefore has the task of making the team of researchers' trips simpler and safer. Iveco's contribution is decisive in supporting the outstanding work done by archaeologists in a concrete manner, as they help highlight the great worth of ancient Iraqi culture. Iveco has increased its presence over the years in Africa and the Middle East , also by signing agreements like that stipulated with the Minister of Electricity of Baghdad for the supply of 1660 vehicles in three years from Daily vans or Daily with crew cabs to Eurocargos in different product versions.
“DAILY4AFRICA IS REPEATED THE SECOND YEAR OF THE TOUR ON THE AFRICAN CONTINENT WILL CROSS SEVEN COUNTRIES IN TWO MONTHS. GOAL: TO PROMOTE ROAD SAFETY. The Iveco Daily 4x4 is once again on African roads to bring a message of road safety, crossing the continents from the East Coast to the West Coast. The project which originated last year brings back Iveco's commitment in proactively supporting the Action for Road Safety campaign launched by the FIA (International Automobile Federation). Road safety is a theme very dear to Iveco, which in the last few years has intensified its communication and advertising activities. Daily4Africa is indeed an international project conceived with the purpose to inform and educate drivers on the right driving habits. During the tour, drivers will be able to delve into the characteristics of the Daily thanks to test drives organised to test their strength and reliability. The tour will depart from Luanda (Angola) and end in Gibuti (Republic of Gibuti), after having crossed seven countries and handed out illustrated flyers with the main rules to follow to maintain the right habits on the road.

INCREDIBLE DAILY! THE LIGHT-DUTY IVECO WAS A STAR OF THE “CHINA-ITALY CENTENNIAL RALLY” ORGANISED BY MASERATI TO CELEBRATE ITS CENTENNIAL. OVER 10,000 KM ALWAYS WITH A FULL LOAD, THROUGH CHINA, RUSSIA, BELARUS, POLAND, CZECH REPUBLIC, GERMANY AND ITALY. The “Surprising Daily is back again”! Not content to put it to the test every day on traditional missions, this time the vehicle was the star of an unprecedented adventure. Tranquil trunk roads and long motorways, but also rough dirt tracks made difficult because of the heavy rain, were the backdrop to a one-of-a-kind caravan: six Maseratis including the Ghibli, GranTurismo and Quattroporte plus four auxiliary vehicles, with the Daily at the forefront. Chosen for its qualities and reliable features, once again, the Daily stood the test of strength and handling.
The route "cut through" Asia and Europe before arriving in Modena, where the celebrations for Maserati's centennial were held.
10
In fact, the heavy task of managing and transporting spare parts for all vehicles of the caravan went to the light-duty Iveco, affirming the sturdiness of its tried and proven chassis with side members. Over 10,000 km, always with a full load in the rain, mud and severe driving conditions. The result? A success, with the Daily 35S15V with a 2.3-L, four-cylinder 146 hp F1A engine (which strictly comes as standard) always ready to give its best: frugal in its consumption, outstanding performance, comfortable to drive, user-friendly and robust.
The Daily, despite having just two-wheel drive, faced the many dirt tracks encountered in over a month of travel in complete safety.
During the trip, the caravan also visited some Iveco dealerships in Moscow, Prague and Ekaterinburg in Siberia.

IVECO A PROTAGONIST AT HANOVER IVECO CHOSE TO CELEBRATE THE NEW DAILY OVER A 2500 SQUARE METRE SPACE IN HALL 16 OF THE FAIRGROUNDS. IT WAS PRECISELY HERE AT THE TRADE FAIR THAT IT WAS AWARDED “VAN OF THE YEAR 2015”. The undisputed protagonist of the booth, the front grille of the Daily inspired the shape of the Iveco exhibit area itself at the Hanover IAA trade fair. And it was the Metallic Boreal Blue— chosen as the launch colour—that prevailed on a banner that fluttered along the booth's walls. This bright colour is reminiscent of the sea, the sky and the uncontested power of nature—a power that is found in the entire range of vehicles that Iveco presented on the international stage that is Hanover. This colour is also tied to the message of sustainability and respect for the environment that the group has made its own and demonstrated by exhibiting two vehicles powered by alternative fuels, the New Daily CNG and the Stralis Natural Power VI which run on liquefied natural gas (LNG). But with a low environmental impact there is also the futuristic Iveco Vision concept introduced to the public for the first time.
12
The entire range appeared next to the product novelties:from light to heavy-duty and off-road vehicles, to the Iveco Bus buses, to the Astra vehicles for transpor tation in the quarry/construction site. There was an iPad next to each vehicle that showed a video on it, let you read the technical datasheet and navigate on an ad hoc app. The entire exhibition area was set up to best represent Iveco's strategy and commitment to the creation of value for customers. Fur thermore, the visitors got to trace the fundamental events in Iveco's history on a signage tower right in the centre of the booth;star ting from 1864, the time of bir th of the Magirus brand which turns 150 years old this year, through to 1975, the year Iveco was born down to today in a long line of innovation and successes.
Iveco affirms itself as a leader in the industry of natural gas drive systems with a complete range of light, medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicles and buses for a total of over 12,000 units delivered
DAILY
In Hanover the official debut of the New Daily before a large international public, right after winning the prestigious Van of The Year recognition. In the area designated for Iveco light-duty vehicles, technological innovation was the common thread and plays a frontline role with the exhibition of certain underbody parts, like the F1C engine, the new eight-speed HI-MATIC automatic transmission and the new Quad Leaf suspensions. Six vehicles were on display, among which a van with the new 10.8 m³ capacity and a cab with a new gross weight of 7.2 tons.
The alternative solutions with the New Daily CNG and Electric New Daily also occupied a large area, the latter of which features an innovative user interface system, developed and integrated in association with TomTom. All this is dedicated to customers, their comfort and the competitiveness of their companies.
STRALIS
OFF-ROAD
Four models were chosen to represent the Stralis range and Iveco's commitment to road haulage. The model equipped with the Efficiency Package and the SuperLight version was at the forefront. The public was really interested in the liquefied natural gas-powered Stralis Natural Power Euro VI.
In a designated area two other off-road vehicles were exhibited, this time from the heavy-duty family: a Trakker 8x4 AD 340T40B equipped with Cursor 9 400-hp engine and variable geometry turbine, and the new Astra HD9 8x4 with Euro VI 560-hp engine at its international debut. The Trakker Dakar served as the backdrop, the star of the last South American expedition.
EUROCARGO
IVECO BUSES
A 15-ton Eurocargo 4x4 was the spokesperson for Iveco's commitment in the medium-duty segments, with constant efforts to boost the concepts of versatility and efficiency. The new Tector 5 and Tector 7 Euro VI engines on the Eurocargo Euro VI are the only ones in this segment with HI-SCR technology and position themselves at the top of their category.
The Daily range was also in the Iveco Bus area with some Minibus versions that offer all the advantages of the New Daily and a 12 m Crossway Low Entry, a multipurpose bus suitable to urban and interurban transpor tation, an undisputed leader in its category in Europe and chosen by the largest European transpor tation groups.
IVECO SERVICE Iveco also chose Hanover as its stage to convey the quality of after-sales service and introduce auxiliary business activities. Indeed, an important part of Iveco's booth was dedicated to the world of after-sales services: a complete offering of new and reconditioned original spare parts, maintenance and repair contracts and extension of the warranty. A New Daily Service Van was also present equipped with the most sophisticated diagnostic tools for roadside repairs. Hanover baptised the new packaging and the new identity of the “CNH Industrial Genuine Parts” that came with the slogan “Together we are stronger”. Hanover also offered a sneak preview of the Iveco Service Pack, a three-year maintenance contract for Iveco Daily vehicles from 3 to 8 years old.
ENGINES A designated area exhibited the Euro VI Iveco Tector 7, Cursor 13, Cursor 8 CNG engine and the Hi-SCR exhaust gas treatment system adopted on all diesel engines of the Tector and Cursor families that equip the Iveco Bus, Eurocargo, Stralis and Trakker range. Thanks to the use of the HiSCR you can save a total of 4.5% in fuel over the previous Euro V version.

ONE STEP AHEAD OF FUTURE MOBILITY AT THE HANOVER TRADE FAIR, IVECO PRESENTED VISION: AN INNOVATIVE DESIGN FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT INTO THE NEW TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS THAT REPRESENT THE NATURAL EVOLUTION OF THE LIGHT-DUTY COMMERCIAL RANGE. A real and genuine "laboratory for the future" one step ahead of the Iveco innovation roadmap. In short, this is Iveco Vision: a concept entirely dedicated to mobility created by adopting unique and innovative solutions, the first of which is the propulsion, which was developed using Iveco Dual Energy technology, an adaptive fuelling system with energy management in real-time by use of two engines. One is electric for urban missions and one is hybrid (thermoelectric) for long trips or rural missions.
14
The optimisation of the thermoelectric engine also allows for reduction in consumption and CO2 emissions of up to 25%. The management of the type of fuel happens automatically and adaptively. The design was developed around three specific areas for the improvement of the "door to door" functions, and in particular, on the adaptive man–machine interface, the design and the management of the load. The interior compartment is the outcome of in-depth research into ergonomics and management of the technology with an integrated multifunction tablet in the dashboard and monster that transmits images taken by the rear cameras.
The broad windows also ensure an excellent field of vision and render the environment pleasing to the driver. Finally, Vision is also the future of productivity thanks to a load management system based on code readers that identify the merchandise to correctly place it and activate mechanical containment devices. The Vision design made by Iveco originated from cooperation of important partners like Bosch, Dainese, Brembo, Streparava, Arcelor Mittal, CRF, Denso, FPT, Sole, Trucklite, Xperion, ZF, Comftech, Essence and ST Microelectronics.
Vision adapts to all needs and missions becoming a sustainable commercial vehicle and at the same time, a business platform and mobile management centre.

THE EURORIDER CHASSIS MOVES EGYPT IVECO BUS GOT TO SUPPLY 300 TWO-AXLE CHASSIS TO THE EGYPTIAN CAPITAL TO OUTFIT AS 12.2-M CITY BUSES. The 300 new buses that the authority for transportation of Cairo (Cairo Transport Authority, CTA) will put in circulation by the end of 2014 will be assembled on two-axle Eurorider chassis. They will have a GB Polo GranViale body and a 102 passenger capacity: 36 seated, driver, chaperone and 64 standing.
The Eurorider chassis will be produced at the plant in Annonay, France, and outfitted by GB Polo - a joint venture composed of Ghabbour Group (official importer of Iveco Buses in Egypt) and the Brazilian bodybuilder Marcopolo - at the plant in the outskir ts of Cairo.
Ghabbour Group, Iveco Bus importer in Egypt, is the biggest Egyptian producer in the automotive industry. In fact, it makes cars, buses, lorries and motorcycles for numerous international brands with an annual volume of 150,000 units.
The engines will be the Tector Euro 3 to 6 cylinders and 270 hp with automatic transmission. The buses will broaden the CTA's fleet of vehicles operating in the Egyptian capital, which currently is about 2000 units and offers transportation services to over 3.5 million passengers a day.
Available in 6x2 or 6x4 versions with the driver's side on the right or the left, the versatile Eurorider was successful in Europe and overseas, especially in Africa and the Middle East.
GERMANY CHOOSES THE CROSSWAY Iveco Bus increases its presence in Germany with the supply of the new Crossways to the DB FuhrparkService GmbH for the renewal of the fleet with new comfortable ecological buses. The DB FuhrparkService GmbH is the largest German public transportation company and it manages the urban routes and Deutsche Bahn regional transportation through DB Regio Bus. It has a network of 22 bus companies and shares in over 70 private and municipal public transportation bodies in Germany. It chose 710 Crossway and Crossway LE (Low Entry) buses for its customers with delivery scheduled between 2015 and 2018. Among the factors that brought Deutsche Bahn to decide on Iveco Bus vehicles were in fact the advantageous TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and the reliability of the Crossway range, buses that have been in the DB fleet for some time. The new Iveco Bus Crossways fully meet the standards required by EBSF (European Bus System of the Future) and the regulations established by VDV (Association of transportation companies in Germany).

A CUSTOM-MADE STRALIS FOR ANY NEED PEOPLE ARE LIKING THE IVECO STRALIS FOR ITS INDEFATIGABLE ROADRACING QUALITIES MORE AND MORE. THERE ARE MANY VERSIONS THAT MAKE FOR THE IDEAL PARTNER EVEN ON THE MOST PARTICULAR MISSIONS. AND IT'S EVEN THRIFTIER STARTING TODAY. Among the heavy-duty road vehicles, the Stralis has always been chosen for its broad range and the nearly infinite customisation options. These qualities were strengthened with the presentation of the Hi-way, an innovative vehicle conferred with the prestigious international Truck of The Year award in 2013. Today Stralis is once again an exemplar in its category thanks to a series of improvements that have made it even more "thrifty". With the introduction of the Efficiency Pack, in fact, Stralis underwent a series of improvements aimed at reducing carrier operating costs mainly in three areas: consumption, maintenance costs and by expanding the product offering. Specifically on the front of lower operating costs, the innovation introduced will lead to another 2% drop in consumption (performance certified by the TĂœV, a German type-approval body); a stat that may be further improved by properly using the DAS system integrated in IVECONNECT, an info telematics system exclusively made for Iveco which enables the driver to improve his or her driving style in real-time. The news in the "house" of Stralis don't stop at optimisation of (Total Cost of Ownership); there is also an improvement in the Stralis' performance.
16
With the natural gas-powered versions in fact, the most demanding customers can find the ideal answer to their search for high performance vehicles, but with lower cost of ownership especially thanks to fuel cost. In this area, Iveco has always played a leading role on the international level with natural gas fuel systems available for all ranges. There are two options for the Stralis: CNG and LNG.The former is a "traditional" system with methane in a gaseous state, instead, the latter enables the storage of methane in a liquid state thanks to a cryogenic tank that keeps the temperature constant at 125°C below zero. While CNG is great for urban and short route missions, LNG is ideal for medium and long routes thanks to its over 750 km range. Even for the LNG the methane is introduced into the combustion chamber in a gaseous state, thanks to the heat exchanger that uses the engine coolant and allows conversion of the methane from a liquid to a gas.
LNG is a true and tried technology and extremely reliable; in fact, the gas in a liquid state is stored in a special cryogenic tank with a thermally isolated dual chamber system, just like in a regular thermos for keeping food and liquids. Moreover, the tanks are certified according to strict international standards and undergo dynamic tests to guarantee absolute safety. Thanks to the CNG and LNG versions the Stralis range has therefore expanded. But that's not all. The Super Light versions also fall under the corporate policies of customer satisfaction; Stralis mainly for cistern transport make their lightness an added plus for carriers. Despite the crisis that has hit all road transport sectors, that of cisterns is indeed quite dynamic.
A NATURAL SOLUTION Alternative fuels are becoming more and more widespread, even on industrial vehicles. Until just a few years ago however the decision was dependent above all on the range, relegating this type of fuel system to short route urban missions. When LN technology was introduced however, Iveco created a version of the Stralis that could travel over 750 km with a full tank. With 125° below zero liquefied methane you could store almost 3 times as much fuel in the same volume compared to compressed gas. The standard configuration of the LNG-powered AT440S33T/P is equipped with four 70-litre CNG tanks and a 510-L two-walled insulated cryogenic LNG tank compliant with the revision of UNECE Regulation number 110, in effect as of June 10, 2014, which allows type approval of LNG vehicles, previously impossible in Europe.
Iveco got the first important order in the field of liquefied natural gas-powered heavy-duty vehicles. After the experience gained behind the wheel of the first five LNG Iveco Stralis, LC3, a company specialised in the transportation of goods at controlled temperature and container chassis indeed confirmed its trust in Iveco by requesting a supply of 50 LNG Euro VI Stralis.
THE ADVANTAGES OF NATURAL GAS Using alternative fuels to diesel oil leads to many advantages both from the environmental sustainability standpoint and from that of affordable prices to customers. As far as emissions, natural gas-powered engines are even more ecological than Diesel Euro VI engines. Natural gas is a clean combustible, thanks to particulate (-95% over Diesel) and NOx (-35%) emissions reduced to a minimum. Furthermore, the use of these vehicles enables reduction of vehicle CO2 emissions from 10% up to 100% when bio methane is used (well–to–wheel). Finally, noise reduction—5 dB over diesel versions on average—makes the vehicle ideal for garbage collection and night delivery missions. From the standpoint of economic sustainability, the overall TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) savings reaches up to 10%. Indeed, natural gas costs less than diesel, which allows for reduction of up to 40% of the cost of the combustible, which is the most substantial part of the TCO.
IN PIACENZA THE FIRST CRYOGENIC STATION IN ITALY The LNG-powered AT440S33T/P Stralis were the stars of the inauguration ceremony of the first LNG refuelling station in Italy. Made by ENI in Piacenza, the station falls under the ”LNG Blue Corridors” project which in the scope of the Seventh European Framework Programme has the goal of promoting liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a real alternative to diesel oil in medium and long route transportation. The project foresees the opening of 14 refuelling stations around Europe on four main routes that cross the continent. Iveco and Eni, technological leaders in their respective sectors, are two of the 27 partners of the project in Europe.
The acronym LNG stands for Liquefied Natural Gas. The methane is changed from ambient pressure gaseous state to a liquid state by a process of refrigeration that reduces the volume 600 times, making it easier to store and transport without needing to pressurise it.

EFFICIENCY PACK Always careful to meet customer demands, Iveco introduces a series of novelties on the market to lower carrier operating costs by acting on three key factors: fuel consumption, maintenance costs and broadening of the product offering. To keep consumption down there are basically two parallel paths to follow, that is, working on vehicle dynamics and showing the driver the most appropriate driving conduct. In keeping with the process begun with Ecostralis and continued with the New Stralis Euro VI Hi Way, today Iveco brings another 2% reduction in fuel consumption, thus bringing an overall advantage of 4.5% over the Euro V version. This performance has been certified by the authoritative German type-approval body, TÜV.
The results were achieved by introducing new improvements like Ecoroll with automatic transmission, a new thermal management of the engine oil and adoption of a low viscosity oil. Moreover, the DSE is a system truly equivalent to an economical driving instructor. Since it was successfully combined with IVECONNECT on Stralis Cursor 11 and Cursor 13 tractors, it was also extended to 4x2 and 6x2 cabs and the Cursor 9 tractors. The DSE decisively contributes to reducing fuel consumption by enabling a 5% savings even for expert drivers reaching up to 12% for less experienced drivers. As far as maintenance costs, with the Efficiency Pack the interval of replacement of the DPF filter is extended from 450,000 to 600,000 km (or 6 years) on the Cursor 11 and 13 engines, bringing Iveco to be best-in-class in the segment.
All Stralis vehicles with Cursor 11 and 13 engines also adopt Eco-Roll as standard—a function available with automatic transmission which allows you to exploit vehicle inertia on slightly downhill tracts, "detaching" the power train if necessary, and putting the vehicle in neutral—improved thermal management of the engine and use of an innovative extremely low viscosity SAE 0W-20 synthetic lubricant.
18
Finally, as for product range expansion, besides the already mentioned DSE, a new additional 260-L fuel tank is introduced, which enables eight new configurations bringing the vehicle capacity to a maximum of 1580 L total, optimising stops and procurement of fuel at more economical fuelling centres, or at those that are partnered with the fleets.
STRALIS SUPER-LIGHT The Iveco Stralis Super Light was conceived and developed for customers for which payload is decisive and therefore need a high performance, but light, vehicle for missions like fuel, gas and chemical product transport. That's why the Stralis Super-Light adopts solutions aimed at lowering the tare weight, offering numerous combinations and configurations to fully meet all demands. Available in three versions (Hi-Road high roof, Hi-Road low roof and Hi-Street low roof), two Euro VI engines (Cursor 9 and 11), 330 to 480 hp, two wheelbases (3650 and 3800) and two types of gearboxes (16gear manual and 12-gear automated), Stralis Super-Light is the new industry exemplar offering the best compromise on the market between tare and horsepower. In the configuration with Cursor 9 with Hi-eSCR technology, the Stralis Super-Light is the only vehicle with 9-L engine to count on 400 hp and 1700 Nm torque.
Weight reduction was possible thanks to unique solutions like the adoption of superlight fifth wheels, lightened urea and diesel tanks and the general containment of weights through optimisations and rationalisations of parts and accessories.

OUTSTANDING SERVICE THE IVECO CUSTOMER CENTRE IS THE MEETING GROUND BETWEEN COMPANY AND CUSTOMER. HERE A NEW PROJECT ADDRESSING DEALERS WAS BORN.
The Turin Customer Centre is one-of-akind. Every day, 24 hours a day, 100 workers dedicate themselves to managing customer service processes in repair (ANS - Assistance Non Stop) and relations (Contact Us and Lead Management) areas. The ANS service has evolved, meeting customer demands with ever more customised products. Indeed, at the Customer Centre offices customers also ask for solutions with ad hoc payment instalments to help them, for example, managing fleets with organisation of repair and maintenance interventions or with Store Assist, which allows performance of small repairs when vehicles are stopped at the
20
customer depot for logistic operations. New activities see the Customer Centre in a pivotal operational role between customer and workshop also introducing new support tools. One example is the chance for workshops to manage vehicle breakdown by smart phone; with an application for Android and Blackberry the Customer Centre is always in touch with the mechanic with which it "dialogues" through specific software providing information on the situation under way and receiving feedback from the mechanic on progress of repairs.
Many initiatives bring the Customer Centre to be more of an after-sales only service and enable it to cover a true and genuine supplier role allaround, supporting the network and customers. All after-sales activities are carried out to optimise internal organization, moving towards lowering vehicle downtime. Thanks to the synergic action among different Iveco departments and Parts & Services. Starting last year, the Customer Centre team also was enhanced by engineers dedicated to management of reconditioned spare parts. This is an Iveco network service in which designated personnel provide support on the applicability of reconditioned spare parts and technical, commercial and logistic aspects. Currently, the service is active for the Italian market and brings with it a new philosophy of use of the Customer Centre, yet more strategic for Iveco's business.

THE CUSTOMERS SPEAK OUT: WHY WE CHOSE STRALIS.
THE FRENCH GROUP MAUFFREY PURCHASED 600 EURO VI ENGINES. Behind this maxi order is the performance and low consumption of the HI-SCR technology, the comfort of the cab, and the satisfaction in after-sales service. A maxi order for the Iveco Stralis from the French group, Mauffrey. This company in the transport and logistics industry with a fleet of 1100 vehicles ordered 600 HI-WAY and HI-ROAD engines equipped with 460-hp Cursor 11 Euro 6 engines. The former were purchased for transport over long distances, the latter for regional transport. Mauffrey group's choice to turn to Iveco comes from the results achieved with the previous 276 Stralis Euro 5s purchased in 2013. This French company that gets a whole new fleet every 3 to 4 years stated that it par ticularly liked these vehicles.
The group's general manager, JeanLuc Mauffrey, underscored that «As of January 2013 our drivers have much appreciated the quality and space inside the new HI-WAY and HI-ROAD cabs. In addition to being comfortable, the lack of noise while driving is outstanding.» On top of the satisfaction with the previous Stralis satisfaction was also drawn from economical operating costs. The innovative HI-SCR system of emissions abatement allows achievement of the objective of the Euro 6 environmental classification without having to use the EGR exhaust gas recirculation system. This fully advantages engine yield. And to low consumption we might also add low maintenance costs. This is what the technical manager of Mauffrey group, Jérôme Grassi, had to say to Iveco Plus: «We chose the Euro 6 Iveco Stralis because it fully meets our needs: ergonomics, comfort for the driver, reliability, low fuel consumption, advanced
technology for the environment and easy, not very expensive maintenance.» How much did the experience already gained with Iveco vehicles influence your choice? «We have been working with Iveco for many years and we have always had good after-sales service. Naturally, the price also played a part in our final decision and Iveco made efforts to meet us halfway. We also got to choose two different versions: one for long distances and one for shorter ones and for construction sites.» How will the new Euro 6 Stralis be used? «We will use the vehicles to transport goods. We do many different kinds of business: in France we are industry leaders for the environment in the transport of rubbish and wood in construction site vehicles with tipping bodies. Furthermore, we have refrigerated semi trailers for perishable goods, cisterns for fuel and so on. Every type of transport, you could say.»

ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE
WITH THE CHECK STOP PROGRAMME IVECO CHOSE TO MEET THE DRIVERS THAT FACE LONG ROUTES EVERY DAY ON MOTORWAYS BEHIND THE WHEEL OF INDUSTRIAL VEHICLES. GOAL: INFORM ON SLEEP DISORDERS. Our roads are constantly travelled by thousands of lorries. Drivers of every nationality face long motorway routes every day: a tough stressful job with danger always around the corner. Among the risks, one of the most insidious is that of sleep disorders. A fast, fatiguing pace in fact leads to a gradual drop in attention and an increased risk of falling asleep at the wheel with dramatic consequences. Modern vehicles are equipped with sophisticated control systems that raise passive and active safety standards, but it's always the driver who is responsible for driving. So Iveco, always sensitive to themes tied to safety, decided to stand by the drivers, explaining in a simple and direct way how to face what doctors classify as an authentic disease.
22
Over the month of June and July, over 89,000 drivers experienced Check Stop, the Iveco awareness programme that led the doctors of the University of Genoa to go around Italy for direct training on the field. Not just training however, but also an open channel with an active listening and dialogue part much liked by all the drivers, not just Italian ones: in fact, the personnel present at the stops were multilingual to give support and information to drivers passing through from other countries as well. The idea of getting up close and personal with customers along the lines, not just of general safety, but of a well-defined problem was really popular with the press and the institutions, who liked the public purpose of the
initiative, created in Association with the Department of Neurosciences (DINOGMI) of the University of Genoa and sponsored by the Ministry of Transportation, the Association of Italian Sleep Doctors, the Department of Health Sciences (DISSAL) of the University of Genoa and by the United Interports Union. In tandem with the driver check-up, those interested could also have their car checked; thus over 350 interventions on vehicles of all brands were carried out. At each check a sticker and a card with a discount on spare parts was distributed. All the carriers that got a check received a kit with various gadgets and a document on the rules of sleep hygiene.
THE STOPS Warehouse of Kuehne+Nagel Turin, from June 11-12
Interport Bologna, from June 30 to July 4
Interport Novara, from June 16-20
Prenestina Est Gas Station Rome, from July 9-10
Interport Verona, from June 23-27
Interport Campano Nola, from July 14-18
OUTCOME The Check Stop programme made it possible for researchers from the University of Genoa to get a representative snapshot of the health conditions of drivers. It emerged that those who drive every day do not eat well and do little physical activity; this leads to weight problems with damage to the back and cervix. Furthermore, problems related to sleep are underestimated, despite being widespread.

RULES OF SLEEP HYGIENE For the amount and quality of sleep to be satisfying, applying some simple “rules” of life is quite useful, since they are necessary to good sleep hygiene. Below is a list of simple rules that once followed ensure better and longer lasting rest at night: Make sure you stay in bed only when you need to sleep Don’t watch TV, eat, work or study on the bed Make your sleep schedule as regular as possible, both in terms of the time you go to sleep and the time you get up Limit sleeping in the morning even if you didn’t sleep very much during the night Don’t go to bed if you’re not tired: sleep can’t be “forced” Eat meals at the same time every day Don’t eat heavy meals in the evening; this makes it hard to digest and delays falling asleep Don’t use inappropriately or abuse hypnotic medication (“sleeping pills”) Don’t consume caffeine, alcohol or tobacco during the evening Get exercise during the day instead of doing intense work outs in the evening Carefully check the bedroom environment: noise, temperature, humidity and light are factors that highly affect sleep Limit the naps you take during the day, and don’t take them too late in the afternoon since this has a negative effect on nighttime sleep Do not fall asleep in front of the TV in the evening after dinner

QUALITY USED PRODUCTS FOR EASTERN EUROPE THE STRATEGIC POSITION IN THE CROSSROADS BETWEEN COUNTRIES OF WESTERN AND EASTERN EUROPE MAKES THE NEW USED PLUS CENTRE IN PANTELIMON AN IMPORTANT PLACE FOR THE SALE OF CNH INDUSTRIAL USED VEHICLES. The new CNH Industrial centre dedicated to the sale of used vehicles was inaugurated at the doors of the city of Bucharest. This is an ideal position to offer guaranteed products to all countries of the Balkans and the Middle East. A market that every year can count on consistent sales volumes that vary from 12,000 to 15,000 vehicles per year. The 300 m² building rises on land that was used as a depot, thus requalifying an area of over 60,000 m² with a display area for used vehicles from trade-ins from buy backs and trade-ins. Before being sold, the vehicles are reconditioned at the in-house workshop.
Here, after certification by Dekra, they are checked and put in optimal conditions to than be offered with various leasing formulas to dealers and large international traders. The rich product offering has made the Romanian centre an exemplar for certified used vehicles. In fact, the Pantelimon is the first CNH Industrial multi-brand group, since it offers industrial and earthmoving vehicles, both from CNH Industrial and its competitors, traded in by customers, and it is the Iveco Capital (the Iveco financial company) centre dedicated to loan collection..
Iveco's presence in Romania is by now consolidated with over 20 years of direct business through a network of 11 dealers and 12 after -sales centres dedicated to direct management by Iveco or local entrepreneurs.
Like for the other 13 centres for Iveco used vehicles in Europe, many are the channels used to promote and sell these vehicles, starting from online sites specialised in industrial vehicles to direct contact with customers, dealers and official Iveco web portals on used vehicles: the iveco-used.com website and the "ivecousedtruck” page on Facebook. Supported by a motorway and online communication campaign, Iveco representatives from the market and main headquarters, the Italian and Romanian tuitions and a large group of journalists attended the inauguration. All were very interested in the project.

ROOM FOR HISTORY
THE HISTORIC GALLERY OF THE CNH INDUSTRIAL VILLAGE GETS A FACELIFT AND BECOMES EVEN RICHER AND MORE TECHNOLOGICAL. No tyrannosaurs that come back to life like in the fun film A Night in the Museum . In the historic gallery of the CNH Industrial Village in Turin, in Strada Settimo 223, bearing witness to a glorious past are the "beasts" of the road: lorries (industrial vehicles), farm tractors, and earthmoving vehicles that have made the history of the sector's industry. It is the only historic gallery dedicated to commercial vehicles in Italy and each year draws thousands of visitors, both Italian and foreign, including schools. Pierluigi Sella, Manager of the Industrial Village, defines it a "dynamic" gallery. Indeed, the riched with the time. Just in April, the
26
programme is ennew acquisitions all like this year. In fact, gallery got a facelift:
it was extended to host 30 historic vehicles plus 2 engines. Pictures, blow-ups and videos that visually outline three periods in history (starting from the first decade of the 1900s up to the late 1980s) help place vehicles that represent and tell about the evolution of industrial vehicles in time and in the contemporaneity of the era.
All you have to do is download the "Industrial Village" smart phone app from Apple Store and Google Play and launch it to have a tour companion that is much more than a simple audio guide.
Chronologically speaking, it starts with the Fiat 18BL and the UNIC TYPE M1A from 1914 and goes up to the Turbo Daily 35.10 from 1990.
When you come close to one of the vehicles on display at the gallery, the app in fact interacts with special emitters that the smartphone recognises. On the cell phone screen an image and description of the vehicle chosen appear automatically and you can listen to an audio commentary.
The tour concludes with two other thematic areas, one dedicated to vehicles outfitted for military use, the other to those in "red livery" with firefighting customisations. Another great novelty is the chance to experience the exhibit in an interactive and digital way.
Once you have completed the tour you can go on enjoying the content of the historic gallery at home with your family and with friends or share this extraordinary "guided" voyage through the history of the company, products and customs.
HERE IS A SELECTION OF 15 NEW ARRIVALS: MARCHING ON ROME With production starting in 1915, the Fiat 18P- is the most characteristic lorry of military transport for the Royal Italian Army. Due to its limited dimensions, it has proved a valid transporter of goods and men, and not just on the roads of that era, but also on mountain carriage roads to the point that many of them were produced both for civil and military use. Some of them transported armed militias to the capital during the famous march on Rome.
LUXURY BUSES Quite luxurious for the day, the Omicron produced by Lancia from 1927 to 1936 mounted a petrol engine with 6 in-line 7060 cm3 cylinders and 91.5 hp. It came with a short or long chassis and even had two levels. The model shown here was used as a mobile workshop for public transportation buses in Rome until 1956.
THE QUEEN OF THE DESERT Four great drive and steering wheels perfect for sand, compressor with wheel regulation, reinforced rear suspensions, SPA 18TL four cylinder 52-hp petrol engine, fuel tanks with greater capacity. The "Little Desert Lorry” Fiat-Spa AS37 (19381943) distinguished itself in all the battles in North Africa during World War II.
AN ELEGANT LONG FACE On the avant-garde, both for the line, characterised by a long slender face, and for its reliability and economical operation, the ESATAU 864 (1953-1955) was produced in Bolzano by the Lancia Industrial Vehicles Division. The cab's structure was made of iron and interior elements in wood. Available only in the 4x2 version, it was equipped with a six-cylinder 122- hp engine and 8245 cm3 displacement, which enabled it to reach a maximum speed of 75 Km/h.
FILM FACE The Fiat 682 N2 (1959-1965) with the characteristic "Moustache" cab was a huge international success and became the symbol of Fiat production in the 1960s through the 1970s. It came in many different versions, including the firefighters' firefighting one. It even was given a cameo part in some films: Operazione San Gennaro (1966) by Dino Risi with Totò and Nino Manfredi and Boccaccio ’70 (1962) in four episodes directed by the illustrious Vittorio De Sica, Federico Fellini, Mario Monicelli and Luchino Visconti.
