introduction
WH
WRONG FOR HAY is a collaboration between HAY and Sebastian Wrong. Based in London, and working with a wide spectrum of fantastically talented international designers, we launched in 2013 with a single mission: to experiment, play and push the limits of this industry.
a global manufacturing and distribution network, with dedicated stores and strong relationships throughout the design, production and distribution chain.
When Rolf and Mette Hay founded HAY ten years earlier, their mission was to bring the innovation and greatness of mid-century Danish design into the 21st century. Since the launch of the first collection in Cologne HAY has built
WRONG FOR HAY has inherited the core belief that good design should be accessible to all who appreciate it. Our influences and inspiration come from London, a global city and a melting pot for a multicultural, diverse and eclectic spectrum of ideas. Here, and under the creative direction of Sebastian Wrong, anything is possible.

Line Depping & Jakob Jørgensen
Jochem Faudet & Jon Harrison
Attua Aparicio and Oscar Wanless gained a design residency in a Styrofoam factory just outside London upon graduating together at the RCA. It is here where they rethink the perceived limitations of materials.
Line Depping and Jakob Jørgensen have repeatedly collaborated with each other since their studies in Denmark. The pair primarily focuses on furniture, maintaining their own separate practices both rooted in a contemporary Scandinavian aesthetic.
Jochem Faudet and Jon Harrison met whilst studying at the Royal College of Art (RCA). After several years of informal collaboration in their London studio FaudetHarrison was born, designing an array of interiors, products and furniture.
Torbjørn Anderssen & Espen Voll
Stefan Diez
Lucien Gumy
Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll previously collaborated as part of the Norway Says trio. Their design work reflects the duo’s receptive nature towards current contemporary design, developing refined products for clients which are desirable within the home interior market.
Stefan Diez is a forward thinking German designer. His studio in Munich develops a range of interior products and furniture, many focused around an innovative use of materials and technology, having previously designed for HAY, E15 as well as Thonet.
Lucien Gumy graduated in 2012 from ECAL, Switzerland. The young furniture designer previously trained as a cabinet maker, with his own design work following suit focusing on simplicity and honest functionality, he has been described as a ’young avantgarde’.
Line Depping
Nathalie Du Pasquier
Thomas Jenkins
Line Depping maintains her own studio work but also spends much of her time collaborating with fellow Danish graduate Jakob Jørgensen. She designs a range of objects but primarily focuses on furniture.
Nathalie Du Pasquier was a founding member of the Memphis movement. Her career is vast, having designed various products, bold textiles, laminates as well as jewellery and furniture over the past 30 years. Her work is bold and striking, inspired by a rule-breaking foundation and reminiscent of a colourful new-wave era.
Thomas Jenkins moved to Norway upon graduating in London, where his interest in manufacturing and materials combined with his traditional craft skills has led him to create small furniture pieces and objects designed for interaction.
Ian McIntyre
Shane Schneck
Ian McIntyre has ceramics expertise that is rare to find in someone of his age. Graduating from the RCA in 2010, his work is very much based on honesty of materials, purity of form and an exceptional attention to detail.
Shane Schneck has previously worked with HAY, designing both furniture and accessories. His studies in architecture has led to an industrial approach to his work, founding Office for Design in Stockholm in 2010.
Bertjan Pot
SmithMatthias
Shortly after graduating from the Design Academy Eindhoven, Bertjan Pot opened his own studio in Rotterdam, gaining recognition for both his interiors and products. His work reflects his curiosity for materials and experimentation and exploration of production methods.
Jack Smith and Gemma Matthias have a responsible approach to their design work. Having worked for several architects and design practices, their shared knowledge of manufacturing and passion for enduring products has led them to a utilitarian approach to contemporary design.
Leon Ransmeier
Snæfrid & Hildigunnur
Leon Ransmeier’s studio is based in New York where he studied. Primarily focusing on his furniture design he has developed work for various brands including Herman Miller and Droog.
Snæfrid Thorsteins and Hildigunnur Gunnarsdottir are an Icelandic graphic design duo. Their graphical work is driven by the observations of every-day, rational in its apporach and intuitive in its functionality.
