Week One
Reading: Zeara Polo, A. 2010. Between Ideas and Matters.
According to Zeara-Polo, the diagram does not play a representational role in the design process but provides an organisational and can have a performative quality depending on how it is deployed. Explain how Diagram is different from Signs and Symbols? (100 words Maximum)
According to the Piece’s classification, the sign have be into icons, indexes and symbols. The icon is a sign which has expression of the qualities, functions and properties of object. While the index differ from icon, have totally arbitrary and immaterial binding between forms and contents, is a static sign which manifests the influence of its dynamic object. Diagrams,do not play a representational role for their dynamic object and the mediate between physical construct and concepts or percept on a organizational level, but their depoly decides their performance.

Week One
Precedent Analysis
Those images shows how I did the first layer. For me, this part is most difficult. Meanwhile, the whole structure ( from layer 1 to layer 4 always applied the same rotation method. For the first layer, I have first creative a curve line. Then using the bend to make the line distortion. By the rotating , the sturucture have been finished. By the same method applied in other three layers. Source of the image : https://www.pinterest.com.au/pin/413627547019363960/

Week Two
Reading: Hertzberger H. 2005. The in-between and The Habitable Space Between Things, from Lessons for Students in Architecture. Herzberger discusses how design should not be extreme in its functionality. Use your precedent study to explain how the pavilion allows for an appropriation of use. (100 words Maximum) w
In Hertzberger H.’s essay of The Habitable Space Between Things, which main idea is hold the designer should design object as an instrument rather than an specific apparatus. This article introduce that we should we should design something the “accommodating potential." The designer can design those stuff more useful, more applicative and more propcess. Meanwhile, People can use it in thier own ways. For a instance, the Bad hair, a excellent works from AA pavilions’ designer. Because of the peculiar structure, the pillion not only plays as a artistic work to play, but also provide a space to invites people relax and have a conversation with others.

Week Two
Isometric
Bad hair - AA pavilion Bad Hair Pavilion is award-winning works of Margaret Dewhurst. The whole structure of Bad Hair Pavilion has four layers. The most difficult layer is the first one , it have been rotated and bend. The second and third layers has similar structure while different height and rotation angle. Meanwhile the top layer provide the maximal activity space. The pierced design decided the sunlight can be permeate, which indicates it don’t have the shelter function, while it more like to provide a rest area for people. The pavilion’s size and its shape provide a enough talking space and relax area to resident. People are always sit or lay on the button of the pavilion. Those corner is the most popular space. Those people has their own ways to treat this pavilion. Which has been suit the Hertzberger’s article The Habitable Space Between Things.

Week Two Diagrams
Use density
Circulation of Bad Hair pavilion
Threshold of Bad Hair Pavillion
The differ color present the use density. Those allow indicates the flow chat. This flow chat shows that there are four entrance and people could pass this pavilion by indicating ways. While people more like stay around the pavilion. Those eight circles claims people’s activity space.
The figure in the middle is the diagram that how people using this space. Therefore, there are threshold around those area between the private area and the public area. For example, when people have a conversation with others, the others take de detour rather disturb.

Appendix
Process
The second layer of the bad hair. According to the blueprint to creative the first layer, then by using the command sweep 2 to creative the beam.
By rotating those two beam of 90 degrees, the second layer have been finished.
7
Appendix Process
The third layer have same structure as the second one , but the different rotate degree.
This is the forth layer. The entire structure of the forth layer more like the cross-shaped.

Process
The finished module of Bad Hair Pavilion.
