Where Science and Philosophy Meet

Jeanne Catherine and Jen LuCas

“Divine Play empowers parents to use their own skill and judgment. They see the clear connection between parents’ own mental wellness and their capacity to support the best parts of their children. I have found this approach to be both grounding and a powerful catalyst for change.” — Anita McGinty, CCP-SLP, PhD, Childhood Education Consultant (mother of 3) “Jeanne’s course takes you away from the rules and strategies of the normal way to do business while still honoring the nuts and bolts of successful business practice. It helps you break the mindsets and beliefs that keep you stuck in your patterns to transform your business and your life!” — Brad Stoller, CEO of ccddgroup.com (father of 3) “I would recommend Jen to any parent looking for more peace and well being for themselves, coupled with better rapport for the most challenging kids and situations out there.” — Aron Gross, Special Education specialist (father of 5)

The 2015-2016 Ultimate Go-To-Guide

Welcome to We are excited to celebrate our 17th year of CharlottesvilleFamily, an adventure that started when Robin, a soon-to-be first-time mom in 1998, imagined a way to collect and share the many wonderful resources and experiences she was finding in the Charlottesville community. She envisioned a hub to connect us all. With that vision, she created the AlbemarleKids.com website and within a year was joined by Jen as co-publisher and the rest, as they say, is history. We changed our name to AlbemarleFamily in 2004, introduced our lovable bee mascot, Bumble, and expanded the magazine from quarterly to ten times per year, and soon after we advanced to a monthly publication. In 2012, we embraced the name of CharlottesvilleFamily to keep up with our community’s expanding views (and make life a little simpler for our out-of-town clients), and, we’ve since added to our line of publications CharlottesvilleFamily’s Ultimate Go-To Guide (in your hands), Charlottesville Welcome Book, Charlottesville Wine & Country and our Healthy Living Directory. The Ultimate Go-To Guide you have here first began as our annual Family Directory in 2001 and today has been blended with the popular daytrip book we published first in 2008 and again in 2009 called the Let’s Go Guide to become an even more exciting product for parents to have an invaluable resource that would cover everything you could need from doulas to daytrips. Our goal in CharlottesvilleFamily is to be a parent’s ultimate resource, whether you are looking for great activities, parenting tips, local school news, daytrip ideas or guides to local family services. We do the research, leaving more time for you to enjoy the important stuff — like fishing and finger painting! At CharlottesvilleFamily, we are dedicated to “making parenting easier and growing up fun,” and it is our pleasure to serve you.

New to Charlottesville? Welcome! We are excited to share with you the historic sites and natural beauty that attract visitors from all over the world as well as show you those hidden gems that locals love. You’ll find an introduction to local family favorites on page 30 and ideas for exploring the treasures in and around Central Virginia on page 69 — more than 125 things to do and see with your kids!

The Skinny on Schools Charlottesville and Albemarle County schools earn praise for innovative teaching as well as high levels of achievement on Virginia’s Standards of Learning tests. There is a huge variety of preschools, from creative co-ops to international immersion programs; and for school-age children, our public school systems are exceptional and our many outstanding local private schools provide a variety of additional options, from boarding schools to single-gender programs to faith-based education. TJ Was Here The most popular man in town is Thomas Jefferson. He is often fondly called “TJ,” and his university — one of the best public universities in the country—

is the biggest employer in our area. It’s also a great draw for sports fans, who turn out in droves to cheer on the UVA Cavaliers. The big domed building, now under a major renovation, is the Rotunda that was designed by Jefferson after the Pantheon in Rome. A Road Oft Taken You should know that “Rio Road” is not pronounced “Ree-o,” but rather “Rye-o.” The explanation we have heard is that it used to be Route 10. Others claim it sprang from the nearby Rivanna River (locals pronounce it “RYvanna”). Local Eats We have several farmers markets, wineries and breweries, and many Charlottesville restaurants use locally sourced ingredients — including products from Polyface Farm, made famous by Michael Pollan’s bestselling The Omnivore’s Dilemma — and that makes all the difference when it comes to good eating. Celebrity Spotting While you’re out and about, you may get a glimpse of local celebrities like Dave Matthews, Howie Long, Sissy Spacek, John Grisham, Boyd Tinsley, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Mary Chapin Carpenter or Jan Karon. Follow the example set by other locals and refrain from staring or asking for autographs. The Dave Matthews Band (aka DMB) are hometown boys who made the big time. On your next outing to the Downtown Mall, stop in at Miller’s to see where it all started. What’s a Wahoo? Legend has it that Washington & Lee baseball fans dubbed the UVA players “Wahoos” during the rivalry that existed between the two in-state schools in the 1890s. By 1940, “Wahoos” was in general use around Grounds (campus) to denote University students. The abbreviated “Hoos” sprang up later and has gained growing popularity in recent years. (Interestingly, “Wahoo” is also a predatory fish that can drink twice its weight in liquid!)

Plan, Plan and Plan Some More! Consider your choices. Not every daytrip is the right outing for you. Some sites are easier to access than others. A few are rambunctious hands-on learning kinds of places that some kids might find overwhelming. Some are places where you look but don’t touch. Others may be wide-open spaces, and if your tot is in that crazy stage where keeping hold of them should earn you an Olympic medal, you probably want some walls to help manage your adventurer. Other destinations may have upsetting topics — for example, the Civil War is tough to explain to a preschooler — so use your judgment to choose the best outing for you.

Call ahead. Our daytrips guide is well researched but, as we all know, the only thing certain in life is change. Hours, admission price, activities and events can and do change — and websites are not always up-to-date. We once drove two hours with three small children to tour a site only to find that it was closed that Saturday for a wedding. Had we called, we could have saved ourselves a lot of tears and the day of driving! As a result, we’ve intentionally left out directions and hours, hoping that will force you to call! Sorry, it’s for your own good.

Get directions. Use an Internet mapping site to get oriented and print out directions, but then call to confirm them. (Google isn’t always right!) While you’ve got someone on the phone, confirm hours, admission prices and any special something you might have your heart set on seeing — like that rare painting that might be on loan to some other museum!

The 2015-2016 Ultimate Go-To-Guide

How Do You Spark Your Child’s Love of Learning? The Standards of Learning — just say those words and you will see your kids wince. Say the words again, this time in a room full of parents, and you’re likely to get the some anxious reactions. But it doesn’t have to be all hard work. One of the best ways to help your kids do well in school and on their SOLs is to relax about the tests and think about what is really important: sparking your child’s enthusiasm for learning. The rest will fall into place. A lifelong love for learning and a curious mind are two of the greatest gifts any of us can hope to pass on to our children. So, how exactly do you spark your child’s love for learning? Check out a few ideas that will enrich your daytrip adventures on the next page.

Pack wisely and prepare for the unexpected. As mothers, we always start with a cooler of water bottles and fruit for snacking, and in writing this guide we fine-tuned the contents of “Mama’s Magic Bag” (the old backpack filled with comfort that is never allowed to leave our minivan). Granola bars, water, diapers, wipes, sunscreen, bug spray, a first aid kit, crayons and a notebook rescued many a strained moments with tired cranky travelers. (Not all of the cranky ones were the kids either!) You have an advantage, too — we’ve written this guide and now you’ll benefit from our packing tips and have the phone numbers of all the attractions in one handy volume. Don’t forget to have your cell phone charged!

Become a Lifetime Learner! hen it comes to outings, whether it be a weekend daytrip or a quick W midweek experience of the arts, we’re firm believers in making the most of an opportunity to learn something new. No matter what the age of your party, whether it’s just you and a friend or you and your kids, we can all become lifetime learners when we get up and go to explore and learn more about our world, its past or just what makes a water slide so much fun!

Read, read, read. And we’ll say it again — read! And that goes for your kids, too. The more your kids see you reading, the more they’ll read, because it will be a part of everyday life. Use little moments to practice reading. Read street signs, maps, tourist brochures and restaurant menus together.

Play the old-fashioned way.

Dress up for your outing. Little train conductors could wear their engineer overalls to ride the James River Rambler, and don’t leave behind your tri-corner hat or bonnet when you visit Colonial Williamsburg. Creative and dramatic play expand the imagination, hone problem-solving skills, let kids enjoy just being kids and make for great photos!

Keep your eyes open. On your nature outings bring along binoculars and a magnifying glass. Observe insects and small animals in their habitats. How many legs do they have? Where do they live? What senses are they using? Looking at flowers, ask, how are the leaves ordered? Can you hear different bird calls? Are you able to see different bark on trees? Are there patterns?

Travel by the numbers.

Reading maps with your kids and planning the outing together is a great way to do math without being academic. How many miles is it from Charlottesville to Luray? If we set out at 9:30am and the drive is 42 minutes, what time will we arrive? If admission is $3 per person and we have 4 people in our family, how much will it cost? These sorts of puzzles give real life meaning to all of those workbook pages full of sums and dividends.

14

The 2015-2016 Ultimate Go-To-Guide

Encourage your child’s talents and passions. Let them choose a destination. With dozens of choices on the following pages, you’re certain to find something to match their interests. It is amazing how much information can be absorbed when interest is sparked.

Let your kids be “know-it-alls.”

Children are like walking almanacs, live records of every fact that has ever intrigued them. Make up family quiz games, or design your own version of Trivial Pursuit. Play “20 Questions” when you ride in the car. Try a contest to see who can learn the craziest fact or the longest word while on your outing.

Enlist a co-pilot.

First-hand experiences of our country’s landmarks can spark a lifelong love of history, and planning them can be part of your child’s education. As local fourth-grade teacher Linda Cox said, “Reading maps, planning a route, using directions like north and south instead of left and right — that doesn’t come naturally. It really needs to be reinforced by parents.”

Find new spots.

In Central Virginia, there’s no excuse for not taking advantage of all of the nearby attractions with presidential birthplaces at our backdoor and geological formations like the Shenandoah Caverns and the Natural Bridge an easy hour or two away. If you think you’ve exhausted the local repertoire, try a new approach. Most families have been to Monticello, but certainly not everyone can say they’ve been a part of one of Monticello’s unique hands-on craft or history workshops. And if history is your family’s favorite, try Pamplin Historical Park and the National Museum of the Civil War Soldier in Petersburg — an amazing interactive experience of the Civil War where, using headsets, you follow the life of a soldier as he tells his story in his own words, which were taken from journals and letters.

A Collection of Memories Here’s a word from the wise about collecting souvenirs too! We all retain what we’ve learned when we revisit a subject again and again. Building a collection of something you can pick up at just about any gift shop will put you and the family on the path to revisiting and remembering all those wonderful places you’ll be exploring — while at the same time preventing those pleas for that expensive stuffed animal you know will end up in next year’s donation box. For instance, create a collection of souvenir pins and display them all on a banner in your family room, or make a special box to house a collection of souvenir key chains or rolled and embossed pennies, or make a book for postcards or brochures. These collections will be easier on your budget and lead to countless remembrances of all those special places you visit as your collector (big or little) pours over them again and again with friends and family. Let’s face it, who doesn’t want something from the gift shop to remember all those great times, right?

Appomattox Court House National Historical Park (Appomattox) 1–2 hour drive

Tip!

Courtesy of Ash Lawn-Highland

If near Ash Lawn-Highland or Jefferson’s Monticello, don’t miss out on savoring 18th-century fare in a rustic setting at Michie Tavern. Self-guided tours are available in the oldest section of the Tavern, and the General Store, the Metal Smith Shop, the Tavern Gift Shop and Clothier Shop are open for souvenirs and browsing. michietavern.com

Ever wonder what was Lee’s final request and why they met at the McLean home instead of the Court House? Here is your chance to find out! While most Civil War sites commemorate the clash of armies, Appomattox is a memorial to peace. In 1865, the Civil War ended when Robert E. Lee surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant in the parlor of the McLean house. Today the sleepy village appears much as it did then, and visitors can tour the 1,700-acre park to get a taste for the characters and events that shaped our country. Park rangers give short walking tours; during summer, costumed interpreters add flavor and interest. Also nearby is the Museum of the Confederacy. nps.gov/apco • (434) 352-8987

Ash Lawn-Highland (Charlottesville) 0–1 hour drive Ash Lawn-Highland was the beloved home of James Monroe, our country’s fifth president, who purchased this 535-acre estate to be close to his good friend Thomas Jefferson. The house displays art and furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries, and daily tours share Monroe’s ideals and contributions to the U.S. Stroll through historic boxwood gardens, explore the outbuildings, visit with farm animals and admire breathtaking panoramic views. For a full day of fun with our founding fathers, visit Monticello, have lunch at the Michie Tavern and hang out and tour Ash Lawn-Highland — they’re all in the same neighborhood. ashlawnhighland.org • (434) 293-9539

Travel along I-81 and discover the Virginia Museum of the Civil War before taking a walk on the historic battlefield where 257 Virginia Military Institute cadets made their mark in history. The next stop will be a hit for everyone—stop by Route 11 Potato Chip Company in Mount Jackson to munch on some tasty treats. The Route 11 crew keeps things interesting (and spicy!) with their wide variety of wacky flavors like Mama Zuma’s Revenge—a habanero chip for those looking for a culinary adventure. Or you could stick to the classics like the Dill Chip, which was voted the “Best Chip to Eat with a Burger” by Real Simple magazine. Watch them at work through a window while they make their chip masterpieces by hand (call ahead to make sure they’re cooking that day). After you have your fill of chips, it’s only a short drive to the Shenandoah Caverns, which offer something for everyone. The little ones and grandparents will be just fine since 80 percent of the tour is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. Your breath will be taken away by the underground phenomenon. Limestone, iron and magnesium come together in these unusual formations to create brilliant bursts of colors sure to leave you and the kids in awe. (Pack a jacket for the 54-degree caverns!) Hatton Ferry (Scottsville) 0–1 hour drive If you read Mark Twain as a kid and dreamed of river adventures, here is your chance. Located just 25 miles south of Charlottesville, the Hatton Ferry is the last poled ferry still operating in the country. The site dates back to the late 1800s when an old store, now a river outfitter’s shop, was built by the original ferry owner. A record flood in 1985 sank the ferryboat, so the Virginia Department of Transportation replaced it with a metal one in 1986. The ferry offers a fun trip across the river for all ages. Keep in mind that the ferry only runs from mid-April through October on Saturday and Sundays and when water levels are adequately high, so call the Albemarle Historical Society before embarking on your trip. thehattonferry.org • (434) 296-1492

Henricus Historical Park (Chester) 1–2 hour drive Henricus Historical Park is home to a re-creation of an actual English settlement circa 1611, with costumed interpreters, where you can experience what it was like for the first English settlers living along the James River. The land had been inhabited by the Native Americans known as the Arrohateck, and it was here that Pocahontas resided at Rocke Hall and was courted by John Rolfe. The park preserves the colony’s legacy, which included many New World firsts: the first hospital (Mt. Malady), the first college, the first tobacco fields and the first privately owned land. Visit the re-created Indian village located directly on the riverbank and then enter the Citie filled with several buildings, gardens and a visitor’s center. The park is also home to hiking trails; for an additional fee, you can take a James River boat tour aboard the Discovery Barge II. henricus.org • (804) 748-1611

International Spy Museum

(Washington, D.C.) 2–3 hour drive

Tip! A long, fun day of exploring Washington, D.C., can make for tired legs, so here’s some great advice for taking the Metro to the Smithsonian’s National Zoo. When going to the zoo, get off at the Cleveland Park exit and walk 10 minutes downhill to the zoo. When you leave, walk downhill — again! — 10 minutes to the Woodley Park-Zoo station.

46

Since opening in 2002, not only has the International Spy Museum been the only museum in the United States focused entirely on espionage, but it also possesses the largest collection of international espionage artifacts on public display. If your kids are fans of the James Bond series, they won’t want to miss some of the unique items on display, including the Aston Martin DB5 from “Goldfinger” and Silva’s laptop from “Skyfall.” With hands-on components, artifacts, computer interactives and more, the museum offers visitors a closer look at the men and women behind some of the world’s most infamous spy missions. “Operation Spy” is a must for kids who want to experience the spy life for themselves! The one-hour mission allows visitors to complete their own operation in the fictional country of Khandar, complete with secret audio conversations, an escape from a high-security compound and more. Here’s one museum where kids are encouraged to crawl through the duct work, hang from a construction site and diffuse an atom bomb. (While all children are welcome, the museum suggests its content is best suited for ages 7 and up. Due to its more mature subjects.) The museum is within a few blocks of the National Mall, the National Portrait Gallery and FBI Headquarters. spymuseum.org • (202) 393-7798

James Madison Museum (Orange) 0–1 hour Know how Orange received its name? You’ll learn this and much more at the James Madison Museum. The museum is home to the Virginia Convention document ratifying the Constitution along with the 20 proposed amendments attached to it. The document, originally written by Madison, was later reworked into what is now the Bill of Rights. While immersed in history, be sure to see the Presidents’ Room, which features personal belongings of Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe and Z. Taylor, the Virginia Ratification document of 1788 and the letter from George Washington about the celebrations of the ratification observed in Alexandria, Virginia. Also housed within the museum is a black history exhibit room, honoring the heritage of Orange with a tribute to the 5,000 Black Americans who fought in the American Revolution and much more. thejamesmadisonmuseum.org • (540) 672-1776

John C. Wells Planetarium Charlottesville stargazers are lucky to have free, twice-monthly public nights at the McCormick Observatory on Grounds and twice-annual public nights at Fan Mountain (astro.virginia.edu). Another great option can be found at James Madison University, where the John. C. Wells Planetarium boasts a digital projection system and a star projector that create a realistic (but indoor) night sky and full-dome movies. The free Saturday afternoon public shows (at 1:00, 2:15 and 3:30pm) are great for young astronomers who usually have early bedtimes or who may not yet have the patience for one of the Charlottesville options. You’ll get a chance to see a map of the night sky — stars, planets and constellations — that will be visible from your yard later that night. On some Saturdays, visitors can view the sun through special solar telescopes. All public shows are free, so you don’t need tickets or reservations to get a spot in the 72-seat auditorium. jmu.edu/planetarium • (540) 568-4071

Writing about his beloved home, Thomas Jefferson said, “I am as happy no where else and in no other society, and all my wishes end, where I hope my days will end, at Monticello.” His clever inventions abound, from the Great Clock in the hallway that ingeniously marks the days of the week as well as hours with a system of pulleys, to the polygraph copying machine used for his many famous letters and the dumbwaiter that brought food quickly up to the dining room from the basement kitchen. The house tour takes you through the first-floor rooms where you can peek at Jefferson’s book collection, learn about his government work and see the original home furnishings. At this designated World Heritage site, the guides pride themselves in keeping each tour fresh and new. Parents with young children will want to be sure to take one of the family tours for the hands-on “extras” that make the experience special for kids. Also, be sure to set aside time to stroll the grounds, especially Mulberry Row, the former center of plantation activity, and peek in the smoke house, kitchen and stables located beneath the main house. The gardens are beautiful in every season; whether you enjoy the spring tulip display or the vegetable garden in summer, there you will understand why Jefferson named this “little mountain.” The expansive Thomas Jefferson Visitor Center and Smith History Center include a beautiful gift shop and a cafe in addition to innovative exhibitions, an introductory film and a hands-on discovery space. monticello.org • (434) 984-9822

P. Buckley Moss Gallery (Waynesboro) 2–3 hour drive P. Buckley Moss, Virginia’s most famous living artist, continues to be inspired by the scenery and the simple lifestyle of the Amish and Mennonite communities. Her art is distinctive with its subject matter focused on country life at its finest as she considers landscapes, lifestyles and traditions to hold important messages for modern society. Look out for special events happening throughout the year. The gallery sits in a historic building built in the late 1890s and used to house a local hotel. The tin ceilings and dark-wood floors complete the experience of the artwork. Visitors can also enjoy seeing her doll house collection. Best of all, about four times a year Pat herself hosts a gallery day to visit with fans and sign autographs. Call ahead to be sure they’re cooking that day. View their spudmasters through a window while they create their chip masterpieces, including their Dill Chip voted “Best Chip to Eat with a Burger” by Real Simple magazine. Tip! While adventuring along Skyline Drive through Shenandoah National Park, you don’t have to worry about the family’s fluctuating appetites. Some eateries like Elkwallow Wayside, Skyland, Big Meadows Wayside and Lodge and Loft Mountain Wayside are available at different mile markers, and several picnic grounds are spaced out with some open year round.

When it’s time to get away from it all, the Shenandoah National Park provides a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the urban world. Built by Roosevelt’s Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, this park has it all — breathtaking mountain vistas, serene woodland trails and an abundance of wildlife including deer, black bear, birds, wild turkey and other woodland animals. Most people experience the park via Skyline Drive, which meanders along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains, where there are 75 overlooks for you to stop and stretch your legs. If you want to stay awhile, campgrounds and backcountry areas (request a pass) are sprinkled across the park, or you could take it nice and easy at Big Meadows Lodge or Skyland Lodge. Smithsonian National Zoo (Washington DC) 2–3 hour drive If you haven’t been to the (free) Smithsonian’s National Zoo in the last few years, consider adding it to your itinerary. Two factors are very important for a fun day at the national zoo: age and weather. First, the kids need to be old enough to enjoy the grounds, which are hilly, or young enough to be pushed in the stroller. Second, the weather needs to be mild enough that the animals are out where they can be seen and that your family isn’t disappointed. Here are a few other important tips: take the Metro, if you can, to avoid traffic and parking fees. When you arrive, get off at the Cleveland Park station so your 10-minute walk to the zoo is downhill; when you leave, walk downhill (again) for about 10 minutes to the Woodley Park–Zoo station. Build up anticipation before your visit by checking out the animal cams – baby pandas! – and the zoo’s materials for children, found online and on the zoo’s app. Try to anticipate other things that will be important to you (stroller rentals, hours of operation) and your crew (animal feeding times, guided programs). You can’t plan for every eventuality, but you can cross some off your list. nationalzoo.si.edu • (202) 633-4888

Virginia Safari Park

(Natural Bridge) 1–2 hour drive

Fuel up your Virginia Safari with a terrific lunch across the road at the Pink Cadillac Diner. You can’t miss the sign — or the 20-foot gorilla created by Mark Cline, the artist behind Foamhenge and Haunted Monster Museum. The 50s-themed restaurant serves a terrific burger, and you may be tempted to cut a rug when someone puts a quarter in the jukebox. Be sure to save room at the soda fountain for dessert, too!

Get ready to roll down the windows and take a wild ride of discovery through 180 amazing acres of critters. Remember the in-park speed limit is 5 miles per hour, but the main traffic jams are four-legged, not four-wheeled. You can feed and pet more than 400 different animals that roam freely over three miles of road; just don’t feed the zebras (they don’t share particularly well) or Watusi cattle (the horns are self-explanatory). For an additional fee, you can even ride in the hay wagon to feed the bison. Visitors of all ages will enjoy marveling at the gentle giraffes, deer, piglets and camels nibbling daintily from your hand or bucket. A souvenir stand and petting zoo are at the entrance. Kangaroos and giraffes are enclosed separately in the 10-acre walk-through zoo, along with cheetahs, flamingos and more! To see baby animals, plan your trip for either spring or early summer. Green Space Immersing yourself in our beautiful Virginia greenery is rather easy with all of the parks available in Charlottesville and the surrounding county. You can go for an autumn or spring hike and also cool off in the summer all at the same parks. Try Chris Greene Lake, near the airport, for swimming or fishing. The Ivy Creek Natural Area, an official site on the Virginia African American Heritage Trail, is a great place to go for an afternoon jaunt. To temporarily escape from civilization, hike a section of the Rivanna Trail and fish, kayak or let your dog swim on the Rivanna River. For a gorgeous walk, take the Saunders-Monticello Trail. Hikers enjoy lovely views as this wide trail winds its way along Carter Mountain toward Monticello. Among neighborhood parks, we love Greenleaf for its picnic area, toddler-friendly playground and a summer sprayground full of sprinklers, which is just off the Bypass. When it comes to watery, warm-weather fun, check out the Onesty Aquatic Center on Meade Avenue or the larger sprayground at Forest Hills Park. In cooler months, enjoy the Smith Aquatic Center — which offers year-round indoor swimming with a pair of two-story waterslides, a play structure and a lazy river— or head over to the Crozet PARC YMCA’s Aquatic Center, which sports an inflatable dome over the outdoor pool from October to April.

Historic heroes abound in Albemarle. A great way for the family to discover Charlottesville’s rich history is to take a historic tour of Downtown during the summer or get tickets to the Spirit Walk at Halloween — both start at the Albemarle Charlottesville Historical Society. Every local should visit James Madison’s Montpelier, Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello and James Monroe’s Ash-Lawn Highland. You’ll find every tour is always different, with newly fascinating and changing exhibits. Watch for their festivals and workshops too.
