BLUPORT INTERNATIONAL WATERCOLOR SOCIETY THAILAND BIENNALE, 2016
MESSAGE FROM CHIEF ADVISOR “From ancient times to the present, art in all its creativeness is used by the artist to satisfy the minds of human beings. I would like to congratulate and applaud the creative programs that the Hua Hin Artist Club and Thailand Watercolor Association have organized. Everyone was able to express their creativity as they added to the beauty of Hua Hin city. This has enriched Hua Hin as a city filled with art, a city for the artist, and a city for the tourist. This World Watercolor Exhibition is important to the city of Hua Hin as well as the country of Thailand because it witnessed over 50 world watercolor gurus who had travelled from afar and gathered together to paint and depict the life style and scenery of Hua Hin. The event promoted and encouraged tourism for the local Thais as well as foreigners where they learned more about the city. Another important benefit was the education of the younger generation, the general public and art enthusiasts as they were able to immerse themselves in the masterful artwork at the exhibition.
Suwat Liptapanlop IWS (Thailand) Chief Advisor
If we will see the world’s development , we have to see through humanities. But the human’s development, we have to see through the artists artworks
Dr.Thawee Narissirikul The Governor of Prachuab Khirikhan
MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT OF IWS (THAILAND)
The International Watercolor Society (IWS) is comprised of members from 88 countries making up 5,000 artists from around the world. Presently, it is considered to be the society with the largest number of members. Members network together in numerous international events using watercolor painting as a medium to communicate aspects of social, religious and racial unity. This year, Thailand had a great opportunity to host an important exhibition by inviting world master watercolorists to gather and paint at the city of Hua Hin. A total of 200 master art pieces were displayed at the exhibition. The theme of the artwork collection was to promote the beauty of the city of Hua Hin. A big Thank You to all the supporters and artists from all sectors who have made this exhibition a success. Tawee Kaesagnam President of IWS (Thailand) LaFe IWS Board Executive Director
MESSAGE FROM IWS FOUNDER & PRESIDENT
“The International Watercolor Society has come a long way since its inception back in 2012. We have successfully integrated more than 80 branches worldwide and we are still growing with more applications coming in. The year 2015 has proven that art can bring people together despite differences in race, religion, culture and distance. Though our activities centered on watercolor promotion, our mission of promoting brotherhood and peace was being accomplished too. We see a stronger bond forming between member countries and we see camaraderie as well between member artists. We thank you all for these accomplishments and hope for your continued support in the years to come. For 2016, the IWS theme would center around peace, harmony, love and understanding as reflected in the upcoming festivals, contests and exhibitions lineup. We will also focus on helping our IWS branches develop affordable strategies for promoting art and watercolor in their own countries. Striving hard to build a better society. Atanur Dogan IWS Founder & President
