Chinese cabbage (Brassica rapa subspecies chinensis) can refer to Chinese leaf vegetables used often in Chinese cuisine. Poppies are a good choice for low-maintenance areas and will happily self-seed, appearing year after year. Poppies prefer sun and thrives in poor well-drained soil. The colourful flowers close their petals at night or in cold, windy weather and open again as the soun touches them the following morning, although they may remain closed in cloudy weather.
