LCP Application Booklet 15.16 Introduction Dear candidate, We all wish for the opportunity in life to create change, This is that moments when you can transmit those many ideas and strategies that are going around your head and in the best way possible to encourage someone to live such an intense and impactful experience as I am currently living. it’s a great step as you are about take a new journey of leadership in your life, for me it has been a great experience and I have learnt a whole lot of new things by the way, which has shaped the way I think and address situation, personal and even professionally. You shall have up and down time going through this process but at the end you will achieve a lot to last you a life time. All the best. Also, applicants are to attach an endorsement letter from any full member (please refer to conditions for full membership) of the LC to this application at the time of submission. Lastly, applicants are free to design their applications as desired. Sadly, design doesn’t attract any preference.

Why are you standing for LCP of AIESEC Calabar 15/16? What are you values and how do they shape your leadership style? What was your biggest achievement in AIESEC so far? What did you learn from it? How will it contribute to your LCP term? What do you think are the biggest challenges you might face during you LCP term, how do you plan to overcome them? What are your personal long term goals? How do you see your potential EB term contributing to them?

Leading AIESEC Calabar   

How do you envision AIESEC Calabar by the end of the term? How would you measure the success of LC team? Please, mention minimum 3 MoS’s? Based on the national direction and strategy, what are the main achievements and nonachievements so far of AIESEC Calabar in the term 14.15? What will you capitalize on and what would you like to change in the term 15.16?

What is the ideal profile for the LCP of AIESEC Calabar? Describe where you stand now when compared to this profile? What are strong and weak sides of your leadership style and how can you be better? Design a brief year plan and how you tend to accomplish them? Be specific. Briefly explain how you can make AIESEC Calabar met up with GEN 2015 and how you can gear the LC towards achieving 2020? What do you think should be the Focus Areas for the term 2015-2016 for AIESEC in Calabar? Explain your choice


What is the biggest challenge for AIESEC Calabar at the moment? Which initiatives will you implement to overcome these challenges?

Handling a Team 

 

If as an LCP, you are having a strong conflict with one of your EB members and the situation is notably affecting the rest of the team. You have already tried dialogue, expectations setting, etc. but the situation doesn’t seem to improve and it is influencing this person’s performance and yours. The situation is even affecting you personally. It is midterm period and during transition you have been told that it is too late to ask a member to leave the team. What will your approach be? (Make assumptions on the situation if you find it necessary – mention your assumptions) How will you handle your EB team if they lose their motive to work? How do you think you can manage team dynamics and diversity on your team?

The Process 1. When plotting your lifeline consider key events in your life, such as graduation, relationships, leadership opportunities, challenges etc., victories you’ve achieved, crisis you’ve endured, fears you’ve overcome, stands you’ve taken, and lessons you’ve learned 2. Mention the even and place points above/below the horizontal live to correspond with intensity of the emotions 3. Once you feel satisfied that you have captured your major personal events and 4. Experiences that shaped you, draw a line connecting the dots. Feel free to present it in any manner – it can be handwritten on a page or word page.
