for the New School Year by Girl Tyler
New school year, who this? You made it, sis! School is back in session which means more opportunities to explore new ideas and flex your talents. Set your intentions for the school year. What do you wish to accomplish between now and the last day of school? Start goal setting the S.M.A.R.T. way!
4
S.M.A.R.T is an acronym which uses who, what, when, and how to reach a goal:
S
PECIFIC What do I want? Don’t be vague. Go for the things that you really want. These can be personal, monetary, or academic goals.
M
EASURABLE How will I know that I’m getting closer to my goal? Here’s where you have to be accountable to yourself. Don’t set a goal and walk away from it. Goals require work. Set reminders on your phone or post sticky notes in your bedroom to check in on your progress.
A
TTAINABLE How will I make it happen? Goals can be challenging, but not impossible. Think about the steps that it will take to reach your goal and if there are possible obstacles that may arise. If so, you may need to adjust your goal to ensure success.
R
EALISTIC What is my plan? Now that you have a reachable goal, it’s time to create an action plan.
T
IME-BOUND When will I reach the goal? Without a deadline, your goal is just a passing thought. Goals don’t happen overnight. Give yourself some time to meet your target. You can set a deadline for 3 weeks or 3 months. It all depends on how much time and effort you’re able to commit.

old up! Did someone say that summer is pretty much over? Yes, Sweetheart, they sure did. In fact, it’s time for you to get back-to-school. But, one of the coolest things about going back to school is all of the fall fashions! We know that you love looking fabulous. Well, we put together some ideas to give you a little inspiration when you do your back to school shopping. It’s a new school year and you may want to switch things up a bit. Who said that you have to look the same way as last year? You’re growing and blossoming, and your style choices may have changed. Here are 4 fall styles that you have to try when you go back to school:
1
Shine With A Little Black Girl Magic Girl, sport your Izzy and Liz Black Girl Magic sweatshirt with a cute little skirt and boots to have “style-icon” status. It will look great with a skirt that blows in the wind, or even a pencil skirt. This look also works with a graphic t-shirt. Expect eyes to be on you for all of the right reasons because you are going to look awesome!

2
Be A Little “Over” The Top
Overalls are fun and very fashionable now. You can wear them with just about ANY top. That’s also what makes them cool. This school year, take your overalls to the max by pairing them with a sparkly sweater or a blazer. Of course, you want to make the look a tiny bit whimsical by adding some graphic socks. Good thing you got some sweet socks in your Izzy and Liv box!
3
Matchy-Matchy Is Adorbs
As you grow, you will probably notice that styles are CONSTANTLY changing. So, it’s totally a “thing” to match different accessories with your clothes. Why not spice up an outfit by adding a matching headband, socks, and maybe even a backpack or purse? They could all even be the same patterns! Get as matchy-matchy as you want. Take the look to another level by doing the same thing with your shirts, caps, and earrings. Whatever you decide, own your style!
4
Get Crazy Creative With Your Clothing
Whether you choose to rock out in a long cardigan, a short flannel top, or even capri sweatpants, just be sure that you love your look. Of course, this year, you will probably be wearing a mask to school. Hey, why not try a flannel shirt with a flannel print mask, or a shimmery cardigan with a shimmery mask. No matter what you choose, it will be all you, This school year, people will know that “being cute” is definitely on your agenda!

Mostly B’s:
The Supportive Friend
No matter what, you always come up with a solution to support your friends. Your friends can always turn to you when they’re in a jam because you are resourceful in conflict resolution.
Mostly C’s:
The Self-Absorbed Friend
You don’t like drama or confrontation so you choose to be a friend from afar. While you don’t mean to be selfish, you tend to put more emphasis on what’s going on in your world instead of your friends.
Mostly D’s:
The Laid-Back Friend
You tend to go with the flow depending on the situation. You respond according to how you’re feeling that day, which may or may not hurt your friend’s feelings.
