Princess Goals: Why Tiana Is Our
Favorite
Do you have dreams of being a princess? Life for a princess seems like so much fun! When you are a princess, you can wear sparkly gowns and crowns every day. Princesses get to eat anything that they want. Sometimes they can have ice cream and cake for breakfast instead of boring old cereal. It’s great being a princess! There are many princesses, but, of all the princesses, there is one who is our favorite...Tiana. We just LOVE Tiana! She is our princess goals. Do you lov e Tiana, too? Here are 6 reasons why Tiana is our favorite: 1. She is brown and beautiful. 2. Tiana is an awesome cook, just like a mom or grandmom! 3. She is smart and is working for what she wants. 4. She is strong and does not give up easily. 5. Tiana is a fantastic problem solver. 6. She is an entrepreneur (wow, that’s a big word!). That means that she has her own business.

Just like Tiana, you can become anything that you want to be! Sometimes things will get a little hard. You won’t become a frog, (which is a good thing), but you will have to work hard and find ways to make your dreams come true. You can do it and you will be so proud of yourself! Remember, princesses always live happily ever after....
Yummy Recipes Sweet Winter Snacks By: Saeeda Ruffin
Winter is a time for keeping warm, singing silly songs, and doing cool activities with the people that you love. We know how much little girls enjoy having a good time. So, to add a little bit of joy to your wintertime fun, here are a few yummy recipes that turn the things you love about winter into sweet treats!

Snowman Swimmers
Elf Hats
Ingredients: • Chocolate Milk (or Hot Chocolate) • 1 package of Mini Powdered Donuts • 1 tub of Whipped Topping • 1 tube of colored decorating icing • Drink Stirrers
Ingredients: • 1 bag of Caramel Flavored Bugles • Candy Melts - Get the colors that you like • Decorator Candy Sprinkles • 1 tube of colored decorating icing • Oil
Take 2 donuts and put them together so that they look like the number 8. Then, push one stirrer into them from the bottom until they are stuck together. Use the decorator icing to draw a face and buttons onto your donut SNOWMAN. With help from an older person, pour the chocolate milk into your favorite cup or mug. Spoon drops of whipped topping onto the chocolate milk. Then, place the donut snowman on top of the whipped topping in the cup. You probably didn’t know that snowmen love to swim!
Have an older person help you to safely melt the candy melts. This can be done by adding oil to the candy melts and microwaving for 30 seconds until they are melted. Then, take a Bugle and dip the opened part into the melted candy. It will look like the furry part of an ELF HAT. Next, dip the candy coated elf hat into the candy decorator sprinkles. Lay on a plate or wax paper to cool off. You can also decorate the rest of the elf hat using the decorating icing. Now, you have the cutest and most delish elf hats ever!

Ornaments Work with a parent to make playdough ornaments This is what you need: • 4 cups flour • 1 ½ cups water • 1 cup salt Mix them together! Here’s what you need to do: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.
Knead dough Use holiday cookie cutters to make shapes Poke a hole at the top of each one Bake in the oven (300 degrees for 30 minutes) Paint the shapes with paint or add glitter to any paint you have Use yarn to hang the ornaments on your tree
Now all you have to do is watch them spin and sparkle! 8
Give the Gift of Slime
Sparkly Snowflakes!
Who doesn’t love slime? Try this holiday version. Add glitter and a little peppermint extract to make seasonal, sparkly, smelly slime. Share with your friends – it’s the perfect peppermint present!
1. Choose any color construction paper, glue, and glitter. 2. Use your glue to doodle, design, and draw a decorative snowflake on the paper. Every snowflake is unique, so you can make whatever lines, shapes, and swirls you want. 3. Shake glitter on to the glue lines. 4. Tilt the paper to move the glitter so it covers all the glue. 5. Let your creation dry!
Tastes Like Sparkles! Do holiday cookies taste better if they sparkle? Probably! Visit your local craft store for sparkly edible glitter – you can eat it! When you frost your holiday cookies, shake on a little glitter. Use food glitter to decorate chocolate covered pretzels, your breakfast toast, fruit slices, ice cream, pudding, your gingerbread house, or any other holiday favorites!
Hang your one-of-a-kind snowflake from the ceiling, or wherever you need a little winter cheer! Optional: Cut around the snowflake to make a decorative edge. Make another snowflake design on the back of the paper. 9
