Welcome to the 34th Annual Swartz Creek Hometown Days Festival weekend which runs from Thursday May 31st. to Sunday June 3rd. Arnold’s Amusements will be hosting exciting rides this year. We are excited to have you join us for what is sure to be a memorable weekend for the Swartz Creek community. The 2018 year brings exciting new sponsors and events, along with our continuing sponsors! On Thursday, Hometown Days presents the Special Day Event, sponsored by Kroger and Arnold’s Amusements. This event allows people with special needs and their families and care givers to enjoy festival festivities in a safe environment! Friday morning will be full of laughter with the Free Ride promotion from 6:00 am to 8:00 am, sponsored Randy Wise Auto Mall. Then make your way over to the Free Pancake Breakfast in the Entertainment tent and enjoy breakfast courtesy of our friends at Durand Senior Care & Rehab Center, from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. There will be many FREE events that morning. Welcome two big shows this year. The first is Lady Houdini, starring Kristen Johnson and Kevin Ridgeway. They’re bringing their skills as magicians, illusionists and escape artists to our festival! This event is sponsored by Dort Federal Credit Union of Swartz Creek. Also new this year Great Lakes Lumberjack Show. Featuring chainsaw carving, axe throwing, wood chopping, one and two-man crosscut sawing, modified chainsawing, log rolling and more! This event is sponsored by Meijer of Swartz Creek.

Don’t miss Cosmo Universal Art, from Dallas, Texas. This is live performance art using the medium of spray paint. Brought to you by SageLink Credit Union. Rounding off our Friday evening will be the Patsy Lou Automotive Group Fireworks Display at dusk! This spectacular fireworks display is sure to amaze everyone! Hint: the best seats are at the High School football field. Saturday begins the Sharp’s Funeral Homes Hometown Days Parade at 10:00 am. This is only a handful of planned festivities and sponsors. Be sure to also check out the HAP Community Tent, SageLink Credit Union Kids Zone Tent, The Consumers Energy Expo Tent, The Agricultural Tent, along with our Pet Adoption Tent. It’s always a pleasure to know we have AMD Urgent Care on the grounds for all your medical needs. Please visit our local businesses while in town during the festival and look through the Official Big Money Magazine Program so you don’t miss any of the great events. A huge thank you to the Swartz Creek Hometown Days Volunteer Committee who have worked thousands of hours to bring you this fantastic festival! Have fun, be safe, and have a great weekend everyone! This Year’s Grand Marshal is Roger L. Sharp Chief Executive Officer and Founder - Sharp Funeral Homes The Swartz Creek Hometown Parade is a huge event that brings out the exciting spirit of Small Town, USA. This year’s parade will be bigger and better than ever. Thousands will line the streets to see the Dragons Marching Band, along with Pom Squads, Cheerleaders, Dance Studios, Military Reps and more! Watch for the many floats coming down Miller Road! This year’s Parade Grand Marshal will be Roger L. Sharp. Roger is the Founder of Sharp Funeral Homes, a family-run business for over 47 years. Sharp Funeral Homes has over the many years sponsored the parade. Without their support and financial commitment, the parade would not be possible. Wanda Cummings, along with the help of her husband Mike, are the two people responsible for

making the parade possible. They handle all the logistics such as registration of participants, determining the line up, and keeping them all together and in a straight, consistent line. Keep it up Wanda and Mike! The Parade Announcers will again be Joel Feick from NBC 25 and Randy Swain from ABC 12. They do a great job and we’re proud to have them on board. Parade participants please note: The lineup will be at the High School and will proceed out of the Performing Arts driveway onto Miller Road. For any questions go to swartzcreekhometowndays.org or contact Wanda Cummings at (810) 635-7575. SPONSORED BY:
