crash course

This project was showing me how to work with a partner and being ok with showing first drafts. When engaging with a real person, it change the direction of the prototype. Showing unfinished work to another person was very stressful, By as I talk to them I found out that what they let me know there words could change my direction. When working quick, I usually take my time on most things, unless I don’t want to tack my time on the pace. Personally, if I could go back and fix the grass and make it more even that would be one thing I would change.

This project was about finding designer sing if you liked their art or their vision and then presenting your designer and how their story is. What drew me to the designer that I chose was the way her art moved me. It is fun sharing the arts that I found with my classmates. Susan Kare is an American artist is the one I would look up.

Rebeca Méndez (June 8, 1962; Mexico City) is a Mexican-American artist and graphic designer. She was a gymnast and actually went to the Olympics going to Moscow. Then Rusha invaded Afghanistan which mad Mexico boycotted the Olympics when this happened, she was then out of options from her vow. Until her father said she is going to America, there she studied physics classes and art and design classes. When Rebeca Méndez art classes were such a young felled she was sick of having to be so linear. Rebeca wanted something that was not substantial and cravat. When she was getting her masters, she was teaching and working on her biasness. She found that you may have a vision, but you need a good team in order to bring it to live, Rebeca under stud that. She also explains that yes there is that creative side but there is a dark side were you can work on something for a good amount of time and then someone with power just comes and discredits your work. She was a professor at UCLA and by not expecting the norm she was able to make a more creative space for her students at UCLA. She said if “am I an artist am I a designer am I Mexican am I American if there is anything constant in my life it is that I am, both and nether. For me her story is interesting for I also started out as a gymnasts then had to stop after two years then I started pouting my energy in to my second hobby which is art/theatre.

This project was to see what we could do with parameters that were set for us with minimum amount of options. Gestalt is a way of making art and it may help with out of the box thinking. Some objects will tach me longer than others it really depends on what I am working on, ones again it depends on what I am doing, yet I love to just let myself make whatever comes to my mind. The project was fun for it challenged my way of thinking it does not need to be to the point, yet it can get your point across still. Yes, it was hard to create without illustrating, I would like to try it again but with other materials.

letterforms

In this project we had to pick a word and style it in different ways but we were only allowed to use black and white. we also learned how to make letters from scratch. lettering is hard but really fun to see what you can Mack out of just black and white. If I were to go back to this project I would play around with the background more.

object iterations

In this project we were tasked to pick a item or animal and new research on the animal we picked. in addition to that we had to pick two artists that we would look up and try to do the way that they style their art. I found that Artic wolfs are very pack oriented. Out of my two master artist which were malika favre and eric carle, malika favre was the harder of the two and Eric Carle was the one I most enjoyed recreating in his style of art. The Prince I got from Photoshop will only help me grow as I further go into either design or whatever art form I want to try. If I were to continue this project I would like to try with color different shapes different dimensions if I had the chance to.

posters

In this project we were tasked with doing a poster structured by one of our fellow classmates then after getting the structure of it we were tasked with creating what they asked to be created. It was fairly challenging it was something I’ve never done before so it was very interesting to see how well I could handle that type of specific art. How I made hierarchy based off what my client gave me, was to have a header and make that stand out and then have all the information down below kind of in a lighter. One thing that I learned was your client they may pick something that you never thought wouldn’t work. As for the type I come to find that before adding color or truly anything playing around with type gave me a new experience and idea to type.

Writer’s block: that moment when your essay is due in 2 hours and you still don’t know what it’s supposed to be about. Being creative is about trying. You can’t be great without first starting. Trust the process- your first draft is NOT your final draft. It’s your shitty first draft. Write down your thoughts as they happen- they aren’t related to the project? Write them anyway. You can’t finish if you never started. Instead of doing that procrastination task, start writing about how you would do that task. Or Try these s teps:

in the bank? Is your head empty? Can you not put words on the page or marker on the canvas?
Visit https://writers.com/writers-block or https://tinyurl.com/4ypbd4rt for more information on creative ideas to get you writing again. 1, Change your location. Work somewhere new. 2, Listen to different noises. Make your playlist wild. 3, Reward yourself with a motivator (like food) every 5 sentences or every 5 minutes of work. 4, Use writing prompts to begin a creative flow. 5, Title it something stupid like “ur mom looks better with me” so it doesn’t feel like a chore. 6, Work with what you know- easy paragraphs first.

bad first drafts

Doing bad on your first try does not mean that represents you. First drafts are most of the time not easy to start, You have to begin some were. Stress is natural when trying to create something, at some point you find your retheme.
