Task 1: Research 1. Begin this assignment by selecting an artist to use for your work. Use the 1st weblink icon (EXPLORE) to go to a webpage with a variety of artwork created by many different artists. Look at the examples of artwork (click on the thumbnail images for larger versions) and then select ONE of the examples to help you get started. 2. Under each of the thumbnail images is the name of the artist that made the artwork. Use this name as a starting point for your research. Using a range of searching techniques such as: Internet, books, magazines, talking to teachers, parents and friends. Find out as much information about your chosen artist as you can, but you must include the following basic information such as: the artists name, place of birth, the type of artwork they were most known for (Portraits, Landscapes, Sculpture etc). Use the 2nd weblink icon above to go to a set of useful websites to begin your research. 3. Stick it into your sketchbook, or write it up neatly.
