The Department of English of JAYARAJ ANNAPACKIAM COLLEGE FOR WOMEN (AUTONOMOUS), PERIYAKULAM, THENI, has been playing a significant role in the annals of our college, respecting the rights of rural students to taste, to cherish and to be proficient in English Literature since its inception in 1972. The faculty of English has been significantly contributing to the mission of empowering the marginalized, rural, economically weaker young women through quality Education. The department has been particular in setting the standard curriculum and English communicative ambience for the betterment of students by undergoing various Board of Studies meeting. The Department offers now U.G. (aided and un-aided) and P.G. courses, Certificate course in Text and Performance and Film Appreciation A hallowed tradition of effective teaching by competent and committed, well-experienced teachers evidenced by the Alumnae feedback, special thrust to spoken English and Soft skills, Bridge course for the freshers, a relevant and need-based syllabi inclusive of joboriented papers and organization of State Level Students’ Seminar, Regional and National level seminars for scholars and teachers are the signposts of the Department The department has been evolving with more successful online teaching methodology by implementing distinct creative and innovative activities and teaching through online mode The department has not limited the online platform only for teaching but it has extended its usage for enrichment of the creative extra-curricular skills of the students Many of the students of English department have been keeping themselves floating above the common tide by their remarkable achievements

The department of English of PATNA WOMEN'S COLLEGE aims at creating a learning environment that is conducive to the development of critical faculty – the ability to think critically and independently – and making of socially responsible and committed students who have imbibed human values and are ethical in their practices The department focusses not only on imparting curriculum based theoretical knowledge but also on sensitising students towards important issues and subjects, so that the acquired learning can translate into positive social intervention. ABOUTTHE COMPETITION
"India, the country of ethnic architectures and monuments w The lakhs of brave people are the reasons behind the freedom of every individual of India. And its been 75 years since the mother India awake to its originality through freedom and so it is essential to keep up the spirit of that originality which is possible through knowing the glorious history of India. The main objective of this Online Intercollegiate Competitions is to make the student community to cherish the 75 years of glorious past of our country."
COMMON GUIDELINES
Students of ENGLISH LITERATURE and aspiring students of other disciplines from the educational institutions of India can join the National Level Online Intercollegiate Competitions.
Participants have to register before the due date using the link given below Competitions will be conducted via Google Meet and Google Site.
Participants have to finish sending their works along with the registration form before 11:59 p.m. on January 15, 2023.
All the participants will be given certificates for PARTICIPATION. OVERALL TROPHY and CASH AWARD will be given to the college which scores more points.
Results will be announced on 19th and 20th January 2023 in a Google Meet Session.

In this competition, four participants can be in a team. The theme of this Competition is "WOMEN WRITERS OF INDIAN WRITING IN ENGLISH".
Quiz will be based on the life and works of the women writers of Indian Writing in English.
This Competition will be conducted at 10 a.m. on January 19th, 2023 during the Google Meet session.
