My name is Skylar Fletcher, I hail from the Ann Arbor Chapter, and it has been an honor to serve as your Regional Teen Foundation Chair for the 2021-2022 programming year! As Foundation Chair, I have had the privilege of planning several Teen Leadership Conference (TLC) community impact projects that will truly make a difference in the St. Louis community. It has been such a pleasure to have the opportunity to connect and engage with teens. I am excited to meet so many exceptional teens from across the region. This is our first TLC in person since 2019, and I cannot wait for all of our teens to experience the enriching and impactful activities we have in store.
The Regional Team has worked tirelessly to make this TLC one to remember. While working with the Lead Teen Advisors this year, we have been impressed by the multitude of stories about teens across the region utilizing technology to successfully accomplish Jack and Jill initiatives while dealing with the limitations of COVID-19. Our wonderful teens have utilized virtual tools to complete learning modules, execute fundraisers, and to maintain connections with other Jacks and Jills. However, we are so grateful to be able to return to an in person Teen Leadership Conference so that our teens can participate in the full Jack and Jill capstone experience.
Finally, a special congratulations to the Class of 2022! We look forward to watching you create the next chapter of your lives as leaders of tomorrow. As First Lady Michelle Obama has said, "Don't be afraid. Be focused. Be determined. Be hopeful. Be empowered." We look forward to seeing your contributions to Black Evolution!
