Rosmarie Tissi was born 1937 in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. She attended the School of Design in Zurich and apprenticed under Swiss designer Siegfried Odermatt before forming a joint studio with him, Odermatt and Tissi, in 1968. While the studio is shared, each works separately on commissions. While she was part of and follows many concepts of the Swiss International Typographic Style, what differentiates her work is a mastery of negative space, extreme proportional variations, evocative use of geometric forms, balanced asymmetry, and vibrant colours.
