Teachers  Guide
Love is in the Air Teacher’s Guide There is a trend to find more natural remedies for all sorts of issues. “Love is in the Air” is a great way to help couples learn which Young Living products can enhance their health and intimacy. Millions of dollars are being spent on synthetic products that have dangerous side effects. Young Living products can help replace some of those needs with all natural, essential oil infused supplements and pure therapeutic grade essential oils. This fun “date night” class will be a great addition to your current classes you are already offering. What better way to build your Young Living business than to help strengthen marriages and increase the vitality of men and women? You can choose to teach from the Love is in the Air booklet or customize your own presentation. Some intimacy topics are sensitive and should be considered when deciding what to bring up in a mixed audience. Your guests will be keeping their booklet and can learn from the privacy of their own home about the more sensitive issues. The important thing is to educate yourself on which Young Living products are available and would be beneficial for intimacy concerns. You will get asked these questions from people from time to time so be prepared with the correct answers. As always, you want to refer to the Disclaimer statement at all events. Many of the intimacy concerns are also related to health concerns, all of which should be discussed with a healthcare professional. This teacher’s guide should help you create an event to remember. We have tried to include everything we used to host our “Love is in the Air” event. We did a Valentine’s Day theme because our event was held at that time of the year. You can create whatever theme you like for your “Love is in the Air” class. Do a simple Google or Pinterest search to discover a multitude of additional ideas to plan your event. Booklets These can be ordered and purchased from Hoover Print Company. www.hooverprintcompany.com. 205-822-0593 Expect to pay around $5 per book. Ask about a quantity discount. You can also order a sign for your event, which is the image from the front cover of the booklet. Regarding the cost of the event: You can choose to charge whatever you like. We charged $50 per couple which included dinner, desserts, a make-n-take, goodies, and games. I suggest you add up all you plan to include and decide on your budget. Our vision is to help people learn more about the products, not to make a profit on ticket sales. Every dollar was spent in an effort to create a wonderful date night experience for our guests. Some of these things are optional but we find that they make this event really special. Eventbrite.com is an excellent website that allows you to create a ticketed event. You can customize everything about your event on this website. The best thing is that social sites, like Facebook, will integrate with Eventbrite allowing you to promote your event and build excitement. I suggest you also email your entire team with an Eventbrite link so everyone will know about the event and have the opportunity to attend.
Food and Beverages: You can choose to serve appetizers, dinner, drinks, dessert, or any combination of these. We chose to have our buffet style dinner catered by a local eatery. The desserts were something we did ourselves. Think about romantic foods such as chocolate dipped strawberries. We didn’t do this but it would be a great idea to flavor the chocolate with an Essential Oil like Peppermint or even Rose. When choosing your menu, consider how to incorporate Young Living Essential Oils in all your recipes. We made Gluten-Free Peppermint Brownies and layered them crumbled in parfait dishes with chocolate mousse and whipped topping (recipe to follow.) You have a decision to make regarding drinks. We chose not to include alcohol but serving wine or Ningxia Red infused champagne would make a nice touch to a couple’s event. Our beverages were sweet and unsweet tea, fruit infused water, and a Keurig coffee bar to go with the desserts. Serving water with Essential Oils is an excellent choice but be sure to only serve that in glassware. Candy bars are extremely trendy. Although they do not usually support the health and wellness aspect of Young Living, it is a “special” event so have fun with the idea. Buy some fun candies and arrange them in decorative jars on a table. Offer baggies for the couple to select their candies to be eaten at the event or at home. Jars can be borrowed or found at thrift stores and then saved for future events. Décor: Our decorations were simple and followed a romantic Valentine theme. Food tables were covered in linens and layered with burlap. Satin rose petals were scattered across the tables. We used empty Ningxia Red bottles as centerpieces and quart mason jars with tea light candles for the tables. Ice cream salt is an inexpensive way to nestle your tea lights in glass jars. When the lights are low and the candles are lit, the salt sparkles like crystal. For a sit down dinner, it is nice touch to have place cards with the attendees’ name at each place setting. At the very least, create name tags so everyone can learn names (and you can too!) We used Christmas lights on the venue’s stage along with white tulle and lace to create a sweet and romantic ambience. Music is a great addition to an event like this. Create a playlist of love songs from all eras and either play softly in the background or queue special songs at certain times during the event. One of the husbands presented a couple’s devotion that served as a reminder of our commitment to one another. As a last activity, we chose to play a slow dance at the end of our program. This dance concluded our special date night evening. If you choose to do this activity, make sure to save space for a dance floor when setting up for the event. Door Prizes and Make-n-Take: Everyone attending should do a make-n-take. We chose to make “Love Potion No. 9.” This custom blend of Essential Oils is expensive to make as it features Rose Essential Oil, which contains approximately 80 drops. We doubled the recipe in the booklet. The 5/8 dram sample bottles (available from Abundant Health) were perfect for this valuable oil blend. We decided not to add carrier oil to the blend so it can be used in a diffuser if desired. This size sample bottle looks great with “Washi”craft tape wrapped around the bottle as a label. We found some at Hobby Lobby with hearts which left no need to label “Love Potion No. 9.” The booklet has several recipes great for a make-n-take, all of which are at different price
points to fit any budget. The “Sexy Linen Spray” would be a great choice too and can be made with any Young Living Essential Oil. Choose one that fits the theme of your class and your budget at the same time. All of the couples received a purse size atomizer bottle for perfume. These bottles are metal on the outside, glass on the inside, and are perfect for using your Essential Oil perfume recipes. To make a perfume, add ½ purified water, ½ witch hazel, 1-2 drops of your favorite Essential Oil single or blend, and shake well. Spray on the skin just like perfume. I found our bottles at Aliexpress.com where I purchased them in a bulk (100 ct) package. That kept the cost down to $1.30 each. You can choose to have water and witch hazel on hand to create a “Love Potion No. 9” perfume from the blend made at the event. Other ideas for “goodies” are candy, pens, pencils, stationary, corsages, flowers, etc. Products to have on hand: You will find many Young Living Singles, Blends, nutritional supplements, and Massage Oils recommended in the “Love is in the Air” booklet. Just like in any class, people will want to see, smell, and experience the products first hand at your event. Plan to have several of these to display and sample. Two entire pages in the booklet list single oils for men and women. You can go through these singles to see what you may already have on hand. Make sure you diffuse oils from the booklet at your event and be sure to explain why you chose those oils to diffuse. We chose to give Sensation and Relaxation Massage Oils as prizes for games. Rose and Jasmine Essential Oils were ordered specifically for our event. Rose was used in the make-n-take while Jasmine was used as a sample to smell. Photo Booth: This is a trendy and super fun feature to offer at your event. Sit back and watch how much fun people have when you offer to snap their photo with all sorts of props. Offer silly props like mustaches on a stick, fun sunglasses, feather boas, hats, scarves, etc. Set up a cute area where the couple will have several snapshots made. We made a “Polaroid” out of a piece of foam-core board for the couple to hold up making a fun frame around the couple. You can choose to have a “helper” sneak away to print these photos as a keepsake or you can post on social media and tag the couple. Either way, these photos will help build excitement for your next event and serve as a sweet reminder of the fun and love they shared at your event. Games: We recommend playing at least one fun game to get the crowd loosened up and having fun. The Newlywed Game, Twizzlers Kiss Game, and Couple’s Mad Libs are games we played at our event. Choose one or make up your own. Just have fun and consider this an ice-breaker for your event. Make sure you have nice door prizes for the winners. We chose Young Living products, which we packaged in themed paper and gift bags. Instructions for these games are included below. Another fun activity to do is have beautiful note paper and envelopes for each person. Encourage them to take a few minutes to write down some “sweet nothings,” code words, or little love notes to their spouse. Show how it is a good idea to “scent” these notes with their Essential Oil perfume spray before giving them to the spouse. This is a romantic little exercise you should encourage the attendees to be consistent with throughout their married lives.
Newlywed Game Supplies Needed: • one slip of paper per couple attending the event • a container to put the slips of paper in • 88 pieces of white construction paper • 16 magic markers • 6 index cards per person attending • pens for each person attending • a list of eleven questions which can be found by googling the Newlywed Game on the internet. • a proctor to call out questions and award points • a score keepe 1. When the guest arrive, have them write their name, as a couple, on a slip of paper to be put in a container. You will draw the names of four couples to participate in the game in the front of the room. The rest of the couples will play at their seats. 2. Draw the names of four couples. These four couples will sit at the front of the room in chairs, facing each other. The chairs should be about 6 feet apart. 3. Each person, of these four couples, will have 11 pieces of construction paper, and a magic marker. 4. The game will consist of 2 rounds of five questions for the husbands and five questions for the wives and a bonus question. 5. The proctor will call out the five questions to the wives first. After each question the wives will write down their answers. 6. The proctor will re-read the question and husband #1 will say his answer out loud. 7. If the spouse’s answers are the same, they will receive 20 points for questions 1 and 2. They will receive 30 points for questions 3 and 4. They will receive 50 points for question number 5. 8. The proctor will then call out 5 questions to the husbands and the round will be played in the same way as the wives round. 9. The bonus round is played by the proctor calling out the bonus question. The husbands and wives write their answer down at the same time. The proctor re-reads the question and the players hold up their signs one couple at a time. 10. The scores are tallied and the winner is announced! If there is a tie, put the winners names in a bowl and draw a winner. 11. As the game is being played with the couples in the front of the room, the couples at the tables can play along with the index cards. (Have the index cards and pens placed at the tables before the event begins). 12. A winner will be awarded from those playing at the tables. They will keep their own scores. If there is a tie, put the winner’s names in a bowl and draw the winner.
Twizzler Kiss Game Each couple has one twizzler. Each person, in the couple, puts an end of the twizzler in their mouth. When the game leader says “go”, the couple begins chewing their end of the twizzler and working toward the middle. You can not use your hands in any way. When the twizzler is completely gone and their lips meet, they raise their hand in the air. The first couple to raise their hand, is the winner of the game. If there is a tie, have a twizzler kiss off round.

Print out ONE copy for each couple. Then fold the paper before you hand them out. Everyone needs to fill in the blanks with the request. After they are finished they can transfer their answers to the blanks. Then have volunteers stand and read their little note while filling in the blanks.

Presentation Notes There are essential oil answers for all sorts of health issues like allergies, headaches, and back pain. But, how would you answer a question about issues with sexual intimacy? I have received questions like this at some of my essential oil classes in the past. In fact, I get asked these question a lot. People want to know but they are too embarrassed to ask. What if we offered a class just for couples? I began to think about the possibilities of such a class. Young Living offers so many essential oils and products designed for sensuality. “Scentuality is about aroma, romance, nature, and sex. Attracting our partner by using blends of nature's essential oils for relaxation, well being, self confidence, and creating a balance of body and mind. The sense of smell is mysterious how molecules of aroma directly involve emotions and memory. For thousands of years, humanity has used the aromas of plant oils to help a multitude of human needs, including healthy, happy sex.
Did you know that 25% of people who have lost their sense of smell have also lost their libido?
Let’s get a little technical for a moment and talk about some of the science behind what may cause some issues in men and women.
Sympathetic and Parasympathetic; This is a pair of on/off switches that make up the autonomic nervous system. They use chemicals as the force to effect changes in the working of the organs that are under their control. For example, the parasympathetic nerves slow the beat of the heart, while the activity of the sympathetic increases the beat. The sympathetic branch uses adrenaline and other substances that are fairly common in the fright, flight, fight hormone that comes to our aid in emergencies. An imbalance between the two halves of the autonomic nervous system can cause issues in men and women. The parasympathetic half is what prepares a person for an orgasm. The sympathetic half achieves the orgasm. Men tend to have an overactive sympathetic and women have an under-active one. The nervous system works as an integrated unit and balance is everything. Essential oils go straight to the nervous system and have been used as balancers of the two halves of the autonomic nervous system. Essential Oils come from the tiniest flowers and from the highest of trees. All Essential Oils are unique and their chemical complexity baffle scientists. A number of oils have been tested for their influence on the sympathetic branch of the nervous system by Professor Shizuo Torii of Toho University in Japan. He found that the action of the sympathetic nervous system was increased by Jasmine, Ylang-Ylang, Peppermint, Rose, Patchouli, Neroli, Clove, Rose, and Basil while its activity was decreased by Marjoram, Sandalwood, Lemon, Chamomile, and Bergamot.

It is crazy how the molecules of aroma directly involve emotions and memory.
At this time, I would like to pass out our class program guides so we can all follow along with our lesson. God has designed married couples to love and support one another in many ways—emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Sexual intimacy is a true and lasting gift of all three. It is full of bonding, joy, stress-relief, trust-building, Let thy fountain be blessed: pleasure, fellowship…and great fun! and rejoice with the wife of Age does not have to stand in the way! God called men to enjoy the wife of their youth, and by taking charge of his health, a man can do just that – even well into his golden years!

Continue to walk through some of the bullet points in the booklet. We read through the first and second pages with our guest and flipped through with them. We touched on how the single oils may be listed for men and women, but have different uses. Also the Correct and Connect pages we spoke about how no matter what stage you are at in life we trust there will be an oil combination for you. We also included how Shutran and Progressence Plus were amazing oil blends formulated by D Gary Young.
