✓ MEANING
If there’s anything I have learned these past couple of years, it’s the fact that we are all a ‘work in progress.’ As a once, self-proclaimed ‘perfectionist,’ I struggled a lot because I was searching for that perfect answer or design, and within design, there is no perfect answer. With each project, I came to understand that more and more. These selected works solely define my time at the Academy—they don’t define my future. We are always learning and bettering ourselves. I am a Work In Progess and the best is yet to come!

✓ OBJECTIVE Choose an existing museum exhibit and design a new visual system that will be carried throughout all promotional materials. The museum exhibit could display any type of art, and could be located anywhere in the world.
✓ SOLUTION The Met is perceived as one of the best museums because of its extensive art collection from all around the world. The Costume Institute Spring 2016 exhibition explored how fashion designers have been reconciling the handmade, and the machine made in the creation of haute couture, and avant garde, ready-to-wear fashion. I took a bit of inspiration from the avant garde fashion and applied it to my design, while still keeping it light and clean so that it wouldn’t compete with the fashion pieces displayed.

✓ OBJECTIVE Choose an existing company that currently participates in corporate social responsibility efforts, and design their annual CSR report. CSR is used to describe a company’s efforts to improve society in some way. These efforts can range from donating money to non–profits to implementing environmentally friendly policies in the workplace.
✓ SOLUTION For most people, Starbucks is just a part of their daily coffee routine, but Starbucks is more than just coffee. Their mission is to inspire and nurture the human spirit—one person, one cup, and one neighborhood at a time. Because Starbucks has so many CSR efforts in place, I wanted to design this report in a way where I could give the audience as much information as possible, while keeping them engaged. The goal of this report was to get the audience more informed and hopefully attract new customers.

Choose an existing board game to redesign. The game of Sorry is one that’s been around for many years. Although this game has gone through many different special edition designs, the out-dated main design has basically remained the same. The goal was to give it a fresher look.
✓ SOLUTION To give the game an updated feel, I took a new, well known millennial saying, “#sorrynotsorry,” and modernized the game to fit the aesthetic of the new audience.

✓ SOLUTION Bradbury Thompson was a master of almost every aspect of the design profession. Much of Thompson’s work uses a bold palette made up of pure CMYK hues, and that’s what inspired me when designing this book. Along with that, I also used his Alphabet 26 typeface as a way to honor his work.

✓ SOLUTION I chose Spirit Air because it is an airline that has a bad reputation. They do offer some of the cheapest flights, but they’re known for their constant delays, and the extra optional charges that come with the flight. I thought it would be a good idea to revamp their brand into one that’s more friendly, bright and inviting, starting with changing their logo and brand colors.

✓ OBJECTIVE Create a 3L premium boxed wine with innovative packaging that delivers a consistent, quality wine experience to wine lovers who care most about what's inside the packaging. This was a collaborative group project with a winery in Napa, California.
✓ SOLUTION When we thought about what 'True Earth' meant, we immediately thought about nature, and the early stages of making wine. From the dirt where the grape vines grow, to the wine produced into bottles, we felt that a natural, yet elegant, look and feel was the way we wanted to go. We also had to create a new, innovative package that would set us apart from the other boxed wines on the market. We created a hexagonal box with a new pump feature that makes your wine drinking experience that much better. The slanted bottom on the inside of the box will ensure that you get every last drop of wine.
