Here, curiosity thrives and blossoms into a lifelong love of learning.

Children learn best when they are safe, known and loved by an expert teacher. Relationship is the key that unlocks a love for learning and at Mt. Bethel Christian Academy, relationship makes all the difference.

Lower School Main Campus Children will learn and grow more in their lower school years than at any other time in their lives. Their attitude towards school and learning will be shaped during these foundational years. The lower school at Mt. Bethel has been designed with the young learner in mind. It is filled with happy, motivated children who are thriving in the classroom and growing in their walk with God. Within our Christcentered environment, our expert faculty love and inspire each child to love learning and love Christ. Our math curriculum builds confidence and mastery through repetition by creatively reinforcing key concepts throughout the year. The program relies heavily on the use of manipulatives and interactive games to make the learning more enjoyable, more memorable and more effective for tactile learners. Our language arts program reflects an integrated model of literacy. Instruction and application in the four strands – Reading and Literature, Writing, Speaking and Listening, and Language – are linked to the complex texts and topics with which students engage. The phonics component explicitly and sequentially addresses three of the Five Essential Elements of Reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, and vocabulary development, with fluency and comprehension development occurring as a result of automaticity in decoding. The rigorous program focuses on repeated reading of complex text, developing academic vocabulary and reading skills. Scaffolding and differentiation are part of everyday instruction to ensure the needs of every child are met. Expert faculty and a powerful curriculum would be insufficient without the opportunity to know each student by head and by heart. We achieve an unparalleled level of intimacy in our lower school by limiting class size and doubling the number of adults in each room. Each lower school teacher partners with a full-time paraprofessional to ensure that every student is known, challenged and loved.

Following the leadership example of Christ, Mt. Bethel students are challenged to learn by experience that “it is more blessed to give than to receive. Acts 20:35

A child’s middle school years are among the most fascinating, challenging and rewarding. At Mt. Bethel, our middle school faculty are deeply invested in the lives of students and understand clearly how best to lead them through this period of tremendous personal and academic growth. Put simply, they teach middle school because they understand and love middle schoolers. The middle school at Mt. Bethel is characterized by a culture of inclusion and respect. Faculty set high expectations for academic achievement and personal conduct and come alongside students to model that behavior. Our faculty invest the time necessary to know each child well in order to guide them personally, academically, and spiritually from a position of authentic relationship. As well as we know our students, we understand that parents know their children best. At Mt. Bethel Christian Academy, we count it a privilege to partner with parents to help students learn to think clearly and carefully, with discernment and understanding. As parents, we want to know that our children will grow in independence and be prepared for each phase of growth. Mt. Bethel meets this challenge by equipping students to reason persuasively and articulate themselves with precision and confidence so that when they enter our upper school, they will be able to reliably evaluate all truth through a decidedly Christian worldview.

Preparing a child for our rigorous upper school program requires a challenging and diverse curriculum. Our math program is leveled to best match the needs of each learner. Students taking Advanced Math and World Language are able to earn high school credit for these classes. Our science program is housed in lab environments. Our history program features a Pre-AP Modern World History and Geography course for eighth graders who have demonstrated their readiness for advanced studies. Our language arts program is divided into two classes, grammar and literature, to allow each student the best opportunity to become a proficient reader and writer. And our middle school Bible curriculum culminates in the study of Apologetics, helping a child discern and defend his faith. To complement our core academic offerings, we offer multiple courses in World Languages, fine arts, performing arts and physical education. Chapel, Bible and physical education are gender-based.

Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseers—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve;

Upper School North Campus A distinguishing characteristic of Mt. Bethel Christian Academy is expert faculty who are passionate about challenging students to become all that God has created them to be. We do this in the context of a deep, meaningful relationship where teachers know their students as individuals. They know their strengths and weaknesses. They know when to congratulate a student for a job well done and when to push a student who is capable of even greater achievement. Above all else, our teachers strive to model Jesus as they encourage their students to strive for excellence in all things to the glory of God. The Upper School curriculum provides students with skills and knowledge they need to be successful in college, in their careers, and their communities. We are intentional in developing student’s ability to write well, speak well, and think well. Students can challenge themselves further with honors and AP classes offered in English, Math, History, Science, and World Languages. Mt. Bethel students take Bible every year and complete one year of Fine Arts as well as Public Speaking or Debate. At each grade, in every subject, students are challenged to reach their full potential. Meaningful preparation for success in college and life also takes place outside of the classroom. Mt. Bethel students have many opportunities to participate in athletics, arts, service, missions, and leadership development. We encourage every student to be involved in school-sponsored activities outside of the classroom both for their personal development and in building their resume for college admission. As a college-preparatory school, we equip each student with the skills needed to identify, apply, and secure admission to colleges and universities that will meet their needs, nurture their talents and interests, and appropriately challenge them. Beginning in the 9th grade, students participate in a college counseling process designed to increase their self-awareness in preparation for a life in service to Jesus and others. As a part of this process, students complete personality, skill and gift, and career assessments. At each step, they receive personalized guidance that builds self-confidence and increases the likelihood that they will identify colleges that will prove to be a good match for them. Each facet of the Upper School experience has been designed to ensure that Mt. Bethel graduates go into the world confident and well prepared to use their God-given talents to impact the world for Christ in whatever endeavor they pursue.

LEARN TO THINK, LEARN TO LEAD…

Spiritually Inspiring children to grow closer to God— it’s the cornerstone of Mt. Bethel Christian Academy

We provide an environment that motivates each child to discover and develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe this strong relationship with Christ is a vital part of instruction. A Biblical worldview is interwoven throughout the curriculum, as teachers model Christian character. Bible instruction, chapel, devotions, prayer, service projects, and character development enhance the spiritual growth experience. Students’ spiritual growth moves beyond the classroom through their mission work and community service projects. As a result of these efforts, the Association of Christian Schools International selected the Academy as an exemplary school program.

LEARN TO THINK, LEARN TO LEAD…

Our sports programs are Christcentered with an emphasis on good sportsmanship and spiritual growth. In addition to the physical benefits of training and skill development, sports also teach students valuable life lessons: discipline, teamwork, humility, cooperation, character, and goal-setting. Academy athletes have the advantage of state-of-theart facilities on two campuses including playing fields, two indoor gymnasiums, an outdoor gymnasium, circuit training, tennis courts, and a swimming pool. Mt. Bethel Christian Academy competes in the Georgia Independent Christian Athletic Association (GICAA), the Metro Atlanta Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the Metro Atlanta Youth Lacrosse Association (MAYLA). As a result of extraordinary preparation, our athletes are prepared for and excelling in high school and college athletics.

Culturally Experiential education comes to life through local and long distance field trips.

Atlanta offers students countless opportunities to explore historical, cultural, and educational venues. Experiential education comes to life through local and long distance field trips and mission work affording all students the opportunity to reach beyond the confines of the classroom. Students are culturally enriched through visits to the High Museum, the Atlanta Zoo, the State Capitol, Jekyll Island, the opera, and the Atlanta Ballet. Student beneficence is anchored by local, national and international mission work. Capstone trips include Washington DC, SIFAT in Alabama, and mission trips within the contiguous U.S. and the Caribbean. All middle and upper school students begin the school year with an overnight retreat to solidify spiritual and social bonds across the grade levels.

LEARN TO THINK, LEARN TO LEAD‌

At Mt. Bethel Christian Academy, there are countless ways students can explore the arts. Visual, literary, and performing arts all provide an opportunity for expression and growth. Morning announcements are streamed live from our state-ofthe-art video production studio. Fine art instruction begins in junior kindergarten and builds a foundation for continued study throughout middle and upper school. Fall and spring musical performances showcase students in both music and drama while the annual Night of the Arts includes a presentation of visual and performing arts. From an understanding of art history and technique, to music appreciation and instrumentation, students work with various mediums and dimensions to explore the diverse world of the arts. Whether in weekly chapel, choral and band performances, or area competitions, the arts play a major role in the culture of the Academy.

Artistically A love of the arts takes root in childhood.

LEARN TO THINK, LEARN TO…

Lead Preparing a new generation of leaders.

A child entering kindergarten will graduate college in approximately seventeen years. How can any school adequately prepare a young person to meet the challenges of a world that is so boundless with so many unknowns? The answer lies not in a broad and rigorous curriculum, essential as that is. At Mt. Bethel Christian Academy, we prepare children to inherit a world in need by molding them into leaders. Leadership is the key. Advances in technology have made our world small. It is now possible to see and know, in real time, what is happening halfway around the globe. And far too often, what is happening is not good. Our children will inherit a world that is polarized and increasingly radical. When desperate people look for answers and direction, they seek out leaders. We believe it is critically important for your child to be equipped to lead as Christ did, unapologetically committed to Biblical truth and humbly serving the least and the lost. At Mt. Bethel Christian Academy, we start with the premise that every child is capable of leadership and we build young leaders with a simple but powerful two-step process of discovery and action. Through our daily devotions, weekly chapel and required Bible curriculum, we discover and celebrate the leadership example of Christ. Once discovered, we turn our understanding into action through a program of service and outreach. Mt. Bethel students don’t simply understand what it means to serve, they are given the opportunity to experience the unmatched joy that comes from helping those in need. We believe this is the kind of leadership our world desperately needs, the kind of leadership worth investing in.
