The contest will feature videos showcasing what contestants love most about the Jackson community. Winners will be determined by which submitted video on the Jackson Chamber’s YouTube Channel receives the most “likes”. One winner will be awarded per category. “From the tourism perspective it’s crucial for us to continue to tell the story of what makes our community unique and worthy of visiting,” said Lori Nunnery, Executive Director, Jackson Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Utilizing social media channels allows us to stretch our limited marketing dollars and have a much broader reach than the traditional marketing efforts. West, 2013 Chair of the LJAA Alumni Engagement Committee Company: Jackson State Community College Job Title: Director, Human Resources & Affirmative Action Q: When did you go through Leadership Jackson? A: 2011 Q: What all have you volunteered to do to help the chamber? A: Most of my involvement has been directly related to Leadership Jackson or Leadership University. I have served on both Boards since graduating from the Leadership Jackson Class of 2011. As a Leadership University Board member, I have participated in the Leadership University interview/ selection process, served on a committee to coordinate and plan a Leadership University session, spoken to Leadership University classes and presented awards to Leadership University graduates at high school award ceremonies. Most recently, I assisted with the COPE course at the opening retreat for Leadership University participants. As a Leadership Jackson Board member I am chairing the Alumni Engagement committee which plans the quarterly lunches/industry tours and all the awards for Leadership Jackson alumni and businesses that support Leadership Jackson. I also serve as a Partner-in-Education (PIE) partner, as part of Jackson State Community College’s PIE Team.
Q: Where else do you volunteer your time outside of work? A: I am very active in the local Society for Human Resource Managers (WT SHRM) chapter. I joined this chapter in April 2010 when we relocated to Jackson and have served as the Vice President for Membership (2012) and am currently serving as the Vice President for Programming/President-Elect (2013).
For more information on Leadership Jackson, visit its website at www.leadershipjackson.com.
