1 Inheritage Tai O is a tourist spot in Hong Kong, which young resident from tai O have started in running business by providing customer service, thus to earn their revenue. However, when we visit TaiO, we found that most stilit houses are still occupied by elderly, which were once enrolled into the fisherman industry a few decades ago. Regarding to the scenario of the changes in TaiO major occupation, our mind provoke the following question:

We want to invent a new way of communication on commercial buildings. Since many of the existing commercial building adopts a curtain glass construction, even with a reflected solar film applied, there is still a too much solar heat gain from the facade. Therefore we propose to build a external glazing which are made out of individual modules. The perforated modules contains cell that can be programmed to open and close, in particular time or showing graphics. The external facade have two main target of audiences, exterior and interior. The smaller graphics in cell can be understood by the people inside, conveying information of space or advertisement. The overall graphics created by the a large number of these cells can be an advertisements for people outside. The aim of this prototype is to improve the sustainability of existing building without completely replacing the curtain wall system and bring in a new method of communicating information.

I am using the Voronoi pattern as the mainstructure of the design . also in the spatialquality, I take the layering as the majorityof the design development direction. The membrane is the key element of my design adding layers on theceiling, column, and planters. I try tomake my design to relate the site element. And the design also is the addedfunction of air purifying and mist spraying

This pavilion design is the place for meditation and yoga also the spot that can be the venue of the festival. The concept of this project is to bring motivation to keihoku. Also we hope this pavilion can be a spot and served for the festival or event I’m keihoku. So people can hang around with this design and have fun. In the design,it is mainly to use wood as the structure and the polycarbonate as the facade material. It is a movable architecture ,like a transformer.the facade can be extended and extracted by pushing and pulling them. Therefore the Special quality of this Pavilions is flexible. And it can be transformed any form that people want. Also the ‘see through’ frame structure can also let people to interact with each other in the fully open mode. And it can create more privacy in fully close mode as well.Different atmosphere and interaction and experience can be created and in this pavilion.

SHING GOR’S DOCUMENTARY IN LOAD SCENE

load scene is a strategy of changing scenery on a stage play, by moving the units to perform different scenarios. Props and actors are following the script to act, the script dominates how space interact with props and acter. life is a stage play, and we are the actor and the stagehand as well, we live what we like and change what we want in spatial. Normally, people experience space from place to place, we are experiencing the physical change of the environment, and also we can experience the transition mentally throughout body movement. However, when we meet an extreme condition, when the population keeps rising, and space we allocated will be reducing. Normally, we have to sacrifice the quality of living space into a compact form. Putting the different programs in a micro space, like the subdivided flat in Hong Kong. Which is inhuman for people living. What if we could maintain the same volume of space and change different functions by loading the scene in only one room,(change with unchanged) like the stage play. In the design, I would like to design a housing unit that can transform into a different “scene” to optimize the space with the minimum volume of space and the maximum quality of space.

Located at the Ching Fung Village, Xian, with a beautiful nei ghborhood surrounded by mountains, the Theatre in the mountain not only provide a space for villagers to preform, but a space that connect themtogether and represent the village. The road-facing facade is inspired by the majestic Qinling mountains where the village sits. The range of peaks wave vast the horizon, hiding,soaring- creating layers of craggy silhouettes. At night, the warm lights is defused by the clean white interior and leaked onto the street, just like a beloved scenery from classic poems.

1/2019 - 5/ 2019

FORM The roof of the theatre are following the tradition- al music elements of Qin Qiang, which creates a dynamic shape to the design.

FACADE Inspired by the beauty of Qinling mountains, the facade pattern represents the village and also let natural light goes into the interior.

SOUND The shape of the roof lets sound performs better as a theatre. The roof of the theatre are following the traditional music elements of Qin Qiang, which creates a dynamic shape to the design.

The patterned openings aim to introduce lighting and natural ventilation to the building, at the same time maintaining room comfort. The wall pattern is inspired by Qinling mountains, responding to the contextual surroundings. The white, minimalist interior allows audiences to focus on stage. The roof structure inspired by the local construction raises from stage to the back of the house. Not only is it guiding the focus to the stage but it also serve as acoustic enhancer.

Design of windows and the wall allow sufficient daylight to penetrate inside, connecting indoor with outdoor space while saving power. The window, designed not only for the views, but also encourage interactions in and outside of the space, such as chatting with villagers passing by. It can be completely closed in winter.

INTERSTICE OF SPACE Circulation of Staff and Public

The long, slender silvery structure extends in the middle of Nevada desert valleys represents our exploration in breaking the limitation of time and space, “which all happens under the same roof.” Not only should the Hyperloop campus foster the future of transportation, but also a place reconnecting the journey of our ancestors, who passed on the will and knowledge through generations and bring the mankind from wheel to loop. Transparency, or openness, is the key for research and innovation while an unruffled environment is necessary for off-work staff and researchers. Therefore, the spaces are packed in a linear containment and arranged in an order of openness, from public to private programs. This ends up in an ultra-long structure that extends more than 400 meters along the highway. Even though the living area is separated from the main interior, all the programs share a single roof structure. The office, lab, and training center are closely connected, “all the magic happen under one roof.” Environmental wise, the environmental impact is minimized by using low-emissivity glass for the walls, installing photovoltaics and a thermal water heating system on the roof. The power supply is preserved in both active and passive means. The water collected on the roof is filtered, purified, and stored for greywater supply for the building.
