The thesis revolves on the development of a new framework for dynamic marketplaces that can adapt to continuously evolving conditions and focus on fisherfolks’ lives. Markets have become relative to our society as places of exchange of goods and services, but there are many issues that need to be addressed right now. It all began with a question about the present scenario and how it changes with changing conditions and future markets.
The project’s goal is to increase architectural knowledge through the creation of a Market complex through a catalytic redevelopment. Technical, spatial, social, functional, logistical, and aesthetic difficulties and potentials are addressed using an integrated design approach, resulting in a well-informed design that balances social, environmental, and economic sustainability. Equally vital is striking a balance between aesthetics and technological difficulties, which necessitates innovative and sensitive detailing
Rapid urbanization and population growth over the last century have resulted in many significant problems and challenges in Fort Cochin. The rapid changes due to industry necessitate adaptive processes while still learning from generations of intimate knowledge with the sea. This project examines Cochin Fisheries Harbour in Thoppumpady , which has a coexistence relationship with the area’s unique ecological habitat, and heavy industry. The project explores a unique form of documentation and captures the complex, dynamic, and intertwined spatial and material relationships of the site. It also recognizes the site’s cultural context and its people’s way of life by introducing a design movement that builds on indigenous and vernacular infrastructure to generate sustainable, resistant, and nature-based technology. The project aims to rethink and reconsider the market.

URBAN REGENERATION is often presented as a natural process through which the urban environment, viewed as a living entity, undergoes transformation. “As the years pass, transformations take place, allowing the city to constantly rejuvenate itself in a natural and organic way “
According to Roberts and Sykes (2008), urban regeneration is a complex and dynamic process, which includes understanding the physical, social, environmental and economic needs of cities.
Urban regeneration is the attempt to reverse that decline by both improving the physical structure, and, more importantly and elusively, the economy of those areas.
Morphology Concerns -In the process of regeneration, the important factors of urban environment which must be conserved are the diversity and continuity appearance.
Social Concerns - Psychological and physical well- being of the individual and community need to be concerned as they are essential for sensitive renewal.
Temporal Concerns -The preservation of natural and man-made environments is another important issue which should not be overlooked in the process of renewal
INFORMAL ANOMALIES
CULTURE AS DETERMINANT OF URBAN FORM
Architecture mirrors the aspirations and achievements of a society. Culture and traditions impart continuity to changing society. Architecture provides the spatial envelope for these transitions; it could be rationally correlated to the spatial imprinting of human behavior in a way that persists as a form while allowing for further and more developed interactions.

Are museums meant to be ephemeral spaces? Art being transcient in nature, can buildings too be transcient ? Using artist Kazimir Malevich’s philosophy that art should transcend subject matter and the truth of shape and color must reign over the narrative. The composition of the building is kept in a way that they are multilayered yet have thee mystical feelings of time and space.
