ADOBE, MEET NINTENDO
Adobe applications meet video game. What happens when you combine design industry standard applications with the pioneers of video games? You create the best selling game of all time, period. That’s right, our friends over at adobe decided to team up with guru’s of video games, nintendo. Yesterday at around twelve noon, nintendo’s CEO Satoru Iwata announced to the gaming public that the “Adobe Photoshop Bros” would be released in a matter of weeks.
VIDEO GAME SPOILER ALERT
Adobe Photoshop Bros is the first game of it’s kind. It’s based on graphic designers taking back their rightful spot from online photoediting services. The synopsis of the game is about two brothers named ‘Pixar’ and “Pixel” from the planet of design elements. They are on a mission to rescue princes ‘APL’ from n o t o r i o u s v i l l a i n ‘A s c e n d e r ’ a photoshop generated virus meant to shut down all adobe design applications so that online photo editing services can take over. Ascender’s plans cannot be completed without princess APL, so he holds her captive and forces her to work for him. It’s up to Pixar and Pixel to devise and design an escape route for princess APL. In order to accomplish this they must gather photoshop tools required to design the route.

That’s why when Mary-kate learned that designer Mogul Carin Goldberg was about to cast for her new reality show “The Wrist” she didn’t hesitate a second to try out for the show. “I knew immediately that I was meant on this show, I love Carin Goldberg and if there was no Carin Goldberg there would probably be no me (in the graphic design field of course)”, Mary kate stated in her audition video. “I am a good worker who believe’s in only producing the best and Carin Goldberg deserves only the best assistant. She is my idol, she has practically done everything in the design world. From her days at CBS Television and Atlantic Records to being the leading independent artist for the past two decades, Ms. Goldberg has paved the way for many artists. I have days where I would have little or no inspiration for assignments that I need to complete and I would log on to Ms. Goldberg’s website and an avalanche of thoughts would rush into my head. She is so creative, she really has a gift!”

Avin learned about “The Wrist” through a close friend of his. “ My friend and I were on a camping trip about three weeks ago and he mentioned to me that there were going to be auditions in the New York area for a reality show called The Wrist. I was hesitant of participating in a ‘silly show’ at first until he mentioned that it was for an opportunity to work Ms. Carin Goldberg. I was so excited I ended the trip two days early just to prepare for auditions.” Avin also continued on to talk about how he discovered Ms. Golberg’s work. “My first recollection of Carin Goldberg was when she designed a book cover for my school’s senior library in 2OO4. She earned a Gold pencil for it and later was included in The American Institute of Graphic Arts. When I saw the work she did I was blown away and knew right there and then one day I would meet her. I guess my opportunity is here!”

Geoffrey believe’s he can be a great asset to Carin Goldberg. “I mean who knows, with my help I can help ease the stress of Carin’s routines. I mean come on we’re talking about a woman who served two terms as president for the AIGA New York Chapter all while being a teacher at the school of visual arts, serving on the board of the Alliance Graphique Internationale and managing her life as an author. Ms Goldberg needs somebody reliable and I am that individual. I have been in the field long enough to understand the do’s and don’t of the profession. Ms. Goldberg, in my eyes, is a legend of the past twenty years. She deserves the best and the best my friends is, me!”

What made me really find interest in Ms. Goldberg was when she spoke about who she has worked with in recent years. She mentioned Warner Bros., Motown Records, Interscope and EMI. She has even worked with brands like AR and
Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. I mean those
are accomplishments only one can imagine. I would love to work besides someone like that, I mean the learning experience would be unimaginable. I know I have a number of years in the design world but everyday you learn something new and I’m sure even Ms. Goldberg learns something new everyday. Who know’s she can learn a thing or two from me!”

She got it from non-other than Ms. Carin Goldberg. “I admire Carin Goldberg, she has unknowingly been my mentor for the past seven and a half years. I never got the opportunity to personally meet her but I just always felt connected to her. She is a legacy to the design realm, especially for woman. One could only hope to be as good as Ms. Goldberg. Graphic designers may not be household names but when names do come up, Carin’s name is sure to be on the list. “ I would love the opportunity to be Carin’s assistant. I have the right skills to perform well and I have proven it through my clients and I can learn so much from her. Despite all the rules of design, she breaks it every time and creates new ones, not everyone can do that!
