Dear potential donor, Wright-Way Rescue is bringing its second annual Howl at the Bluff event at Walker’s Bluff on Saturday, September 7th, 2013. Howl At The Bluff is a family-friendly event featuring a 5K Walk/Run, a pet adopt-a- thon, a free evening showing of Disney’s “Lady and the Tramp”, a prize raffle, and a 50/50 raffle. Wright-Way Rescue anticipates 500-1,000 people in attendance for this event. We need your help to create an entire day that will inspire and inform while raising the financial support needed to keep Wright-Way Rescue thriving. As you may already know, Wright-Way Rescue is the largest no-kill and not-for-profit animal rescue in southern Illinois. In 2012, Wright-Way found homes for more dogs than any other no-kill shelter in the state of Illinois! In addition to adoptions, Wright-Way Rescue opened southern Illinois' first not-for-profit veterinary clinic TimberTrails Low-Cost Veterinary Services. Here, medical care and spay/neuter surgeries are provided to pet owners for extremely affordable prices. Additional discounts are given to low-income pet owners, shelters and rescue groups. Additionally, Wright-Way Rescue provides community education, volunteer and internship opportunities, canine training classes and seminars, and a foster home network throughout the entire state. Wright-Way Rescue is striving to increase awareness of the overwhelming pet overpopulation problem that exists throughout the rural Midwest. The ultimate goal: reduce the number of adoptable pets euthanized throughout southern Illinois by 50 percent by the year 2020. In order to maximize our impact, we are reaching out to our neighbors and requesting your help in furthering our mission. Registration for our runners and walkers will open soon, but we want to increase fundraising efforts and offer a great marketing venture to you in the process.
