WHAT YOU NEED
to play HORSE*
BASKETBALL NET BASKETBALL TWO OR MORE PLAYERS
*You don’t actually need a horse
to play the game. Nobody’s really sure why it’s called “HORSE” to begin with. Horses obviously cannot shoot basketballs.
1 2 3 4 5 BEGIN After finding a basketball and hoop, the next step is to decide on a playing order.
The gameplay begins with the first person in line picking any spot on the court,
and attempting
a shot.
SCORE If the shot is made, all players have to attempt the shot in the same location on the court, stance, and technique as the initial player.

HORS E R SEHO RSEHO GETTING A LETTER If a player fails to make a specific shot, they are assigned a penalty letter. For the first shot missed, a player is given the letter “H”, for the second, “O”, and so on, eventually spelling out “HORSE”.

S MISS R O O

TRICK SHOT For the real risk taker, attempt a shot from a million miles away: even try and use other walls and other props to increase the level of difficulty. If actually made into the basket, these shots will almost always ensure a letter to all your competition.
THE GOAL
A player is out when they miss five shots and get all the letters of H-O-R-S-E. The goal of the game is to be the last person remaining.
The last person remaining does not become a “horse, but instead,
is the
WINNER WINNER
of the game.
