WELCOME ONBOARD CEO’S MESSAGE
Dear Guests, Welcome on board Royal Brunei Airlines! We wish you a very pleasant flight with RB. Rest assured that our team, both on the ground and inflight, will do their utmost to ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable journey. 2017 has indeed flown by and what an exciting year it has been for us at RB. The photo collage represents some of the memorable events we have had throughout the year – from the recent Golden Jubilee celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s accession to the throne to RB’s collaboration with Brunei Tourism and Captain Czarena’s inspiring talks to young women in various forums. We have introduced several network expansions this year with new codeshare flights to Tokyo and Cebu and, soon to be announced, Myanmar. We will be flying to Incheon from end of November as scheduled services after the success of our charter operations. In addition, we plan to commence scheduled services to Beijing soon, providing even more capital
city to capital city connections. You can review our full route network featuring all RB’s scheduled flights as well as codeshare services on page 68. At RB, we believe that the travel experience begin even before your flight. Thus, aside from our route expansions, we have also introduced a number of new products and services to give greater convenience and an enjoyable experience to our guests. Earlier this year, we launched the smartphone-friendly Mobile Check-In facility that allows for seats selection and e-boarding pass service. The feature is currently available for departures from selected airports and we look forward to introducing this throughout our network. We also introduced our new RB Holidays Online – a 24/7 online dynamic planning and bundling of products for your holiday. This easy-to-use website and booking system allows guests the ability to plan and purchase their entire holiday products from flights, accommodation, tours and transport in one convenient place and at leisure. With regards to facilities, we are excited about our upgrading works of our Business Class Sky Lounge at Brunei International Airport. The month-long festival will feature some of Brunei’s best in arts, food and films, to name a few. You can read more about what Brunei Festival 2017 has to offer on page 44. London is never short of attractions and fun pursuits for kids. From child-friendly theatres (Little Angel Theatre comes to mind) to one-stop entertainment spots (Kidszania does great role-plays), the city knows how to host the little traveller. And yes, it can also be daunting for any parent with kids in tow. The crowd, the queues, the noise, the traffic. Lugging kids to see the Changing of the Guard? Not if you want to jostle with the crowd and deal with whiny, irritable kids later. Londoners, those with children, know only too well the challenge of entertaining kids in their own city. So it was to them we looked for advice on what best to see and do. The key was simple: keep your itinerary small and manageable, and above all – keep your wits together.

The ICONS Of course, no one should skip the signature vistas that make London distinctive. For a two-in-one experience, traipse through London’s famous landmarks on an iconic double decker bus and partake in a traditional afternoon tea experience. BB Bakery’s fully restored 1960s Routemaster has been revamped with retro booth seats and kids will love tucking into its pretty set of colourful cupcakes, dainty tarts and finger sandwiches. Plus, you get to escape the crowd while still being able to see historical landmarks such as Big Ben, Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace. Back on terra firma, get kids to hunt down the quintessential British red telephone box – the ones that have been repurposed. Push open the door to discover a mini library (Lewisham), a phone repair shop (Holborn, Greenwich, West End), an ATM machine (Borough Market) or a miniature garden of hanging baskets and pot plants (Southwark). Our favourite was the Kape Barako near Hampstead Heath. In his tiny booth, Umar Khalid and wife does a delicious chai latte that the kids love.

03 04 Home SCHOOL Add a lesson plan (or two) while on vacation with a visit to London’s boutique museums. The Horniman Museum is a great museum for kids to have a hands-on experience on almost everything. The Butterfly House, opened just in August, is a delightful tropical cabin with species that change according to the season. See them land on your head and shoulders but be careful not to tread on those on the floor. Then head over to the Hands on Base Gallery where children can touch real things – anything from African masks to a shark’s jaws. The HMS Belfast, part of the Imperial War Museums portfolio, is a favourite with ship-obsessed grown-ups and children alike. This permanent exhibit is a real historic warship with nine decks to explore. And getting to sit in the Captain’s chair is a real treat for anyone!

For a day at being a pirate, nothing gets a big “Aye” than an outing to the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Playground at Kensington Gardens. A huge wooden pirate ship that speaks to the Peter Pan in all of us sits in a middle of a sea of sand. Kids board the ship via thick rope gangways and ladders before exploring the captain’s cabins and taking on the ship’s wheel. But this is more than your typical playground. There are areas dedicated for toddlers and older children spread out from the ship’s “central zone”. A secret garden around the corner has a wooden walkway accessed by ladder sand poles, a sound and sensory section has metal plates that elicit musical notes that kids can step on, a teepee area to play hide-and-seek, and a pool/ puddle area to get kids excited. In short, it’s a great place to fuel the imagination. If safety is a concern, fret not. Adults can only enter when accompanying kids. At St James Park, the pelicans will delight the kids but, if you tell them they are the descendants of the birds first donated to the park by King Charles II back in 1664, we guarantee you they would want to linger. Or, head over to Regents Park to see the ducks and swans. From the west side of the park, you can see the dome of the Regent’s Park Mosque (or London Central Mosque as it’s officially known). The mosque itself took 37 years to build though the land was gifted to the Muslim community in 1940.

09 Side NOTES Toilet breaks are best at shopping centres and museums, where there is unlikely to be long queues. Food halls are great for picky eaters, as they provide a wide range of menu to pick from. Rasa Sayang in Chinatown does great Malaysian/Straits food and the huge servings mean kids can share a dish. Markets are also great for their ample samples of homemade produce. At Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Playground the café just outside the gates serves hearty soups, sandwiches and stone-baked pizzas with ample wooden benches and tables. In the last few years, the global tourism landscape has changed tremendously due to many factors. Foremost is the demand among Muslims for leisure travel that is growing concurrently with the burgeoning Muslim population worldwide. The importance of the Muslim Travel market segment is already being realised, and numerous countries around the world are capitalising on the pent-up demand of Muslim travellers for halal tourism. South Korea is joining many other Southeast Asian countries in responding to the growing number of Muslim tourists it welcomes every year. Its State Food Agency launched “HALAL Korea”, an app that provides information on halal restaurants, allows users to scan bar codes on food products for its permissibility, and locate nearby prayer facilities. The number of halal restaurants has also increase. In Itaewon, where previously halal food was only confined to Middle Eastern restaurants, tourists can now savour authentic halal Korean food, such as bibimbap, bulgogi and many more. Itaewon too is a popular stop for Muslim travellers because this is where Seoul’s largest mosque is located. Its strategic location high above Itaewon’s highest point provides an interesting vista of a section of downtown Seoul. Prayer places too have sprouted in many areas where tourists are likely to visit. One of these includes K-Style Hub in downtown Seoul, a place that every Hallyu fan and enthusiast of Korean culture should visit. Spread across 6 floors, K-Style Hub is a once-stop centre for all things Korean. And you will likely spend a couple of hours here because this place is more than just sourcing travel advise and taking free brochures.

Visitors can play dress up with a traditional hanbok and take pictures, get a free health reading at the Medical Information Centre and sample the local herbal tea best suited for your lifestyle, design their own herbal pouch using local Korean herbs and spices, partake in a cooking class, and – thanks to virtual reality – experience every corner of Korea before actually getting there. For Muslim guests, there is a separate male/female prayer room including an ablution area. Seoul is also fast re-establishing itself as a new megapolis, redesigning old spaces and re-thinking city living, setting examples for other megacities to learn from. One of its newer attraction is the Garden Bridge that perfectly reflects the city’s passion for pursuing public urban interventions, the Seoullo 7017, which is also within the vicinity of the downtown area. This new pedestrian walking experience has been likened to New York’s High Line that re-uses an existing structure to give depth to an otherwise stoic city living. The bridge connects places near the main railway station and, following several self-guided walking itineraries, can take you to gardens of palaces, areas of hanoks (tradition al Korean homes) and centuries’-old artisan shops and buildings. Along the bridge are scattered a variety of facilities, including an information centre, cafes, gardens and stages. There are also various plants, shrubs and trees arranged in 600 differentsized pots to give pedestrians a distinctive feel when they walk along the bridge. It’s a great way to view the city’s skyline and definitely a place to visit since it is opened 24 hours.

Seoul is adept at balancing the old and new, which will power the imaginations of guests who visit. For a look at traditional Seoul, there is no other place that captures the charm of an old traditional Korean Village than the Bukchon Traditional Village. With 600 years of Korean history, the area is also known as the centre for Korea’s heritage, arts and culture. Many traditional trades can be found here, such as at the Haneul Mulbit Workshop where fabrics are still dyed the traditional way using natural colours and an embroidery museum. Or simply wander into the alleyway to look at beautifully-restored architecture features like small courtyards, traditional door knobs and decorative outer walls to really understand this living, breathing traditional village. More cultural immersions can be found in places such as the local markets. At Noryangjin Fish Market, one of Korea’s largest that dates back to 1927, the seafood auction still continues in the early hours of the morning. It’s lively, chaotic, and you can see local chefs and restarauteurs at work competing to get the best catch. Once the action is over, you can visit the various vendors and bargain your way through the best seafood because upstairs from the wet area is an entire floor dedicated to restaurants that cook your purchase fresh for you. Many of these eateries are Muslim-friendly but when in doubt, get your seafood steamed for the freshest taste and you’ll never go wrong. SPICY
ASIA
Explore the Asian markets for fresh aromatics and spices that give a unique spark to many Asian dishes. Words ABDULLAH OOI
With the concept of farm to table and embracing traditional foods, Asian cuisine captures the zeitgeist of today’s gastronomical scene. Each cuisine is not just distinctive through its flavour profile, but the clever use of local herbs that give every dish that added edge. THAI SWEET BASIL Thai sweet basil is the spicier cousin of the Mediterranean basil. It has a distinctively sweet anise flavour and is used abundantly in Thai, Vietnamese and Loatian cuisine to spice up stirfried dishes, curries, salads, and also as a garnish for soups. The leaves are generally thrown whole or, for the most flavour, torn to release its oils. GALANGAL Sometimes referred to as Siamese Ginger, this piquant spice is very hard and woody and has larger roots than its ginger cousin. The galangal also has a sharp, almost pine-like flavour and is commonly used to flavour Thai curries and soups. In Malaysian and Indonesian cuisine, the galangal is used extensively in rendang dishes, adding an earthy note to the heavily spiced dish. In Cambodia it plays a major role in the herb paste known as kroeung. Galangal is naturally
tough and requires a sharp knife to slice. When shopping, look for one with a firm skin and pinkish root. A little goes a long way. LEMONGRASS Sometimes known as citronella grass, this stalky plant’s white bulbous part is where the flavor is most concentrated. There are several ways to use it. The lower stalk can be bruised with the back of a knife or a pestle, or the stalks can be sliced thinly and added into salads and soups. This herb is essential to Thai, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Indonesian, Malaysian, Bruneian and Singaporean Nyonya cooking. Cooks use lemongrass to add a lemony flavour and lighten meat-heavy and /or oily dishes. The stalks also make fragrant skewers for satays and kebabs. KEMIRI (CANDLE) NUTS Kemiri nuts are used widely in Indonesian Padang cuisine, as well as Nyonya cooking in Malaysia and Singapore. The nuts are crushed and grounded and added into pastes to thicken sauces and bring a rich nutty flavour to stews. They are also known as Candle Nuts because their high oil content can burn like a candle. Kemiri nuts can turn rancid in a few months and are best stored in a freezer or refrigerator.

KAFFIR LIME AND LEAVES These fragrant leaves are used in Southeast Asian Cuisine the same way bay leaves are used in Western cooking – to infuse a dish and heighten its flavour profile. Cooks prefer to tear the leaves naturally to release the fragrant oils rather than cutting it with a scissors or knife. The aroma that is released add a distinctive citrus scent to soups and curries. Caution when using kaffir lime leaves in any cooking. Throw them in only towards the end. Cooking them too long may turn your dish bitter. TORCH GINGER FLOWER The long-stemmed bud of the ginger flower, with its blush pinky-red petals, looks good enough as an ornamental piece. But cut into its waxy petal and the bud will release an aromatic fragrance with a hint of peppery notes. Shred its buds into thin slices to use in salads and sauces. It is indispensable in Nyonya cuisine in Malaysia and Singapore, especially in dishes such as assam laksa or any assam pedas.

CINNAMON STICKS With a rich spicy flavour, these sticks can be used in sweet or savory dishes and drinks. The everyday cinnamon stick you might get at the market is actually the bark of the cassia tree. True cinnamon is a really thin bark that looks like a rolled-up cigar. Either way, the spice and aroma is unmistakenly sweet-and-spicey. In Vietnamese and Cambodian cuisine, it is used generously to spice up soups and broths. Elsewhere, cinnamon sticks are used as aromatics to flavour curries and sauces. Cinnamon powder is popular in Chinese cooking, common to Singapore and Malaysia. CLOVES The flower buds of the clove tree, cloves are quite aromatic. Its sweet penetrating aroma has a distinctive flavour and is used in sweet and savoury dishes. Many food recipes that include cloves also include spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, star anise or peppercorns that also make up the aromatics for a curry dish. An Asian cooking trick is to stick three or four cloves into an onion to enliven a good stock.

GINGER This knobbly rhizome has a thin, pale yellow skin and aromatic, juicy and slightly fibrous flesh. Young ginger has a more pungent flavour and smoother skin. Peel the skin away and use grated or sliced, or chopped in stirfries, stews, soups, curries and curry pastes. STAR ANISE More fragrant than anise seed, the star anise is easily identified through its star shaped and woody feel. Star anise is part of the Chinese five spice mix. In Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine, star anise is used to flavour broths and braised meats. In Bruneian, Malaysian, Singaporean and Indonesian cuisine, star anise is used in curries and stews. BLAST FROM THE PAST All the world’s really a stage in Melbourne. Words GRACE OOI Images POP-UP GLOBE
Imagine seeing Shakespeare’s plays in the environment in which they were crafted for. This was the vision New Zealand-born and Shakespearean scholar Dr Miles Gregory had upon looking at his daughter’s picture pop-up book one day that ultimately gave birth to an anatomically correct full-scale model of the second Globe Theatre. Following hot on the heels of its initial sell-out success in Auckland, New Zealand, Pop-up Globe and its team of artists are now in Melbourne until 12 November to give audiences the feel and magic of an authentic Shakespearean play.
spectacular space itself, together with the power of Shakespeare’s incredible work, means attending plays at Pop-up Globe is totally different from anything you’ve seen before. “This isn’t dusty Shakespeare. This is now. Alive. Like a party,” adds Gregory. The first Globe stood for 14 years until a disastrous fire demolished it in 1613.

Dr Gregory, having added Pop-up Globe founder and Artistic Director titles to his cap says, he believes Shakespeare’s work performed in the space it is written for is a completely unique and transformative experience. “Our audiences are blown away by the immersive experience of seeing Shakespeare performed in the space for which it was written. Pop-up Globe is a three-storey, 16-sided, 900-person capacity theatre. It unites cutting-edge scaffold technology with a 400-year-old design to transport audiences back in time. No matter where they sit or stand in the theatre, audience members are never more than 15 metres from the heart of the action on stage. Sometimes they’ll even find themselves in the play.
The audacious project was originally planned as a one-off in Auckland to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death in 2016. Created entirely from scratch by an international company and cast in less than 18 months, Pop-up Globe took the city by storm welcoming more than 100,000 attendances in a season extended twice by popular demand. In Melbourne, the Pop-up Globe theatre was constructed in the newly-launched Shakespeare Gardens adjacent the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. Built over a period of six weeks, it features all the spectacular theatrical trickery
of the Jacobean era, including cannons, aming arrows, hundreds of litres of fake blood, hand-forged armoury and more than 450 beautiful bespoke period costumes pieces specially constructed by the Pop-up Globe in-house wardrobe department. The dimensions and exterior of Pop-up Globe takes as it starting point the ground-breaking research conducted by Associate Professor Tim Fitzpatrick and Mr Russell Emerson of the University of Sydney. Its spectacular interior is based on extensive research conducted by the Pop-up Globe Research & Development team including Dr Miles Gregory and David Lawrence, and realised by Scenic Designer John Charles and Head of Scenic Workshop Malcolm Dale.

How do you put Dubai onto the map of an artistic world? Franco Dragone, one of the world’s most sought-after artistic directors, renowned for shows such as Celine Dion – A New Day, Le Rêve (Las Vegas) and The House of Dancing Water (Macau), that forever changed the face of live entertainment in Las Vegas, was tasked to create a state-of-the-art show that perfectly reflect the essence of Dubai. Inspired by Dubai’s cosmopolitan make-up, its rich heritage and modernity, Dragone has created a Vegas-style show filled with daredevil water and aerial stunts. Working with more than 130 world-class artistic, athletic and technical team members from 23 countries, La Perle has been touted as the dawn of a new era of entertainment. Staged in the heart of Al Habtoor City, La Perle is the region’s first permanent show boasting 450 performances per year in a tailor-made state-of-the-art aqua-theatre. The 1,300 seat venue is designed for maximum impact. With only 14 rows, seating is wrapped 270 degrees around the aqua stage, creating an intimate experience. There’s no room for disappointment as every seat offers its own unique views. For a special treat, the VIP ticket will get you into a private lounge for pre-show canapés before being escorted to luxurious theatre lounge chairs, designed and positioned for premium views. “La Perle will be the most awe-inspiring and technically advanced theatre production I have ever produced and directed. New and unique for the region with the world’s best creative team and incredible performers, La Perle is inspired by the spirit of Dubai and will reflect the beauty and flavours of Arabia. It will be the soul of Al Habtoor City,” says Dragone. The name La Perle was chosen to reflect the high-calibre and elegance of each performer in the show, who have distinguished themselves from other artists around the world and become treasures in the creation of this masterpiece. In addition, the logo’s pearl-shaped fluidity and futuristic connotations are an acknowledgement to the legacy of the UAE and Dubai’s positioning as a city of the future. As the latest tourist attraction in Dubai, La Perle will be a not-to-be missed visitor experience and an iconic show for Dubai, offering an unmatched immersive production that can only be delivered in a purpose-built theatre. London, New York, Las Vegas and Macau all have iconic shows that attract millions of visitors a year. It is time for Dubai to have one of her own.

AWARENESS
Alzheimer’s Disease International has the facts which indicate dementia will be the ‘most serious health crisis of the 21st century’. DY Suharya, Regional Director Asia Pacific Regional Office, speaks on why the public needs to be educated and how a dementia national plan can benefit a country. What are the normal characteristics of cognitive ageing? The basic cognitive functions mostly affected by age are attention and memory; perception also shows significant age related declines attributable mainly to declining sensory capacities. Higher level cognitive functions such as language processing and decision making can also be affected by age. How can one distinguish between normal ageing and early onset dementia? Normal Ageing: • Not being able to remember details of a conversation or event that took place a year ago • Not being able to remember the name of an acquaintance • Forgetting things and events occasionally • Occasionally have difficulty finding words • You are worried about your memory, but your relatives are not Early Onset Dementia: • Not being able to recall details of recent events or conversations • Not recognising or knowing the names of family members • Forgetting things or events more frequently • Frequent pauses and substitutions when finding words
56
MUHIBAH
• Your relatives are worried about your memory, but you are not aware of any problems Why is it so important that dementia is diagnosed early? “Early diagnosis means we can live well longer” is one of the taglines in the “Remember Me” World Alzheimer’s Month campaign this year. Receiving it early will enable people to: • Gain access to information, support and information • Maximise everyone’s quality of life • Benefit from treatments • Plan for the future • Explain to family, friends, colleagues what has changed and be prepared in the journey of caring ahead • Start to do some work related to insurance, legal and asset documents, etc • Participate in an early stage support group for coping strategies. Your late mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s so you had first-hand experience of the challenges. Your father was her main caregiver. What was the most challenging of that role for him and your family? My father was 80 years old when my mother was diagnosed with vascular dementia in 2009. They have been together for more than 50 years in marriage and the most challenging thing
for my dad back then actually occurred before mom was diagnosed (mom had showed symptoms of dementia since 20 years ago/around the 90s but no one noticed). My siblings and myself including dad with the support of a domestic worker were committed to provide the highest quality of care as possible for mom and this journey had actually strengthened our family bond since all members in the family had their own roles in providing care. What advice can you give to the caregiver, especially if it’s a family member, when faced with the challenges of caring for a person with dementia? • Seek support at the nearest Alzheimer’s association in their neighborhood • Join a support group • Adapt with change • Sign up for a dementia care skills training session • Never forget their own health and well-being (manage time) • Plan respite care. In August, Alzheimer’s Disease International’s Asia Pacific Regional Office (ADI-APRO) and Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation Malaysia (ADFM) successfully conducted a Dementia Care Skills Course for Train-The-Trainer Programme with MOH and MCYS officers supported by a master trainer
How can a family member or an individual try to pick up features of who might be having symptoms of dementia in the earliest point? See 10 warning signs of dementia. Dementia is an irreversible disease. There is no prevention and there is no cure. But are we seeing progress made by scientists in this area? Unfortunately, no progress yet for cure, which brings a big responsibility for us to advocate, educate, promote risk reduction and continuously train as many as we can in providing quality care to persons with dementia.
from Alzheimer’s Disease Association (ADA) Singapore and a co-trainer from Brunei. It was the first time ever such a training was done in Brunei Darussalam. What are your thoughts on it and where does Brunei go from here? Many countries have a high reliance on foreign expert trainers and are inconsistent in the quality of training materials and approach for dementia care. ADFM and ADI supported Brunei’s
initiative in conducting the training for caregivers to be better equipped to face the unique challenges of dementia. Brunei has kickstarted a successful training in August and ADI Asia Pacific and ADFM will continue to nurture and support the trainers in the long run and support advocacy to high level so eventually Brunei will have a Dementia National Plan and will be able to contribute to the improvement of quality of life for people with dementia and caregivers in Brunei.
As the founder of Alzheimer’s Indonesia and now the Regional Director of Asia Pacific region, ADI, how did you come to take up these role(s)? And what does the future holds for Asia? I received the trust to be the regional director of ADI Asia pacific since November 2016 after three years of leading Alzheimer’s Indonesia to be the role model for awareness raising campaign in Asia. Out of almost 50 million people with dementia globally, half of them are in Asia (22.9 million) and there are excellent potentials in Asia especially in relation to care, advocacy and research.

Hand Luggage For your safety and comfort, you may store your hand luggage in the overhead lockers or under the seat in front of you. Liquids, Aerosols and Gels (LAG) Various countries have implemented restrictions on the carriage of liquids, aerosols and gels in compliance with new guidelines set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Passengers transiting through airports and carrying any liquids, pastes and gels in containers over 100ml may be asked to dispose of the items at security checkpoints. These restrictions may affect your ability to carry duty-free purchases onboard the aircraft. Customers are advised to check with duty free personnel before making their purchases. All liquids, aerosols and gels must be carried in containers of no greater than 100ml/3.3oz capacity (approximately 100gm in weight) and placed in a transparent, resealable plastic bag. The plastic bag must be removed from carry on baggage and presented to security
personnel at the checkpoint for inspection and separate x-ray screening. Exceptions to the new regulations are medicines and dietary supplements needed during a flight, including baby food. Proof of need may be required.
Use of Electronic Equipment Electronic devices such as Citizen’s band (CB) radio, remote-controlled devices (such as radio controlled toys), and transmitting devices that emit radio frequencies are not to be used at any time during the flight. These devices may interfere with the aircraft’s electronic equipment, compromising aircraft safety and endangering the lives of passengers and crew. The following devices may be used on board, except during take-off, initial climb, approach and landing; mobile phones (which must be

WELCOME ONBOARD
CAPITAL ATTRACTIONS
ABODE OF PEACE
Small in size but big in attractions, Brunei’s capital has lots to offer.
Brunei Darussalam is a country rich in culture and heritage. It is a small, peaceful, prosperous kingdom on the northern shore of the ecologically-rich island of Borneo. Come and discover Brunei, a Kingdom of Unexpected Treasures. Brunei is arguably best known today as an oil producing country. The nation became independent in 1984 and, thanks to its large reserves of oil and gas, now has one of the highest standards of living in the world. Its population of just over 408,000 is made up of two-thirds ethnic Malay, with the remainder being Chinese, Indian and other indigenous groups. The Sultanate has four districts: Brunei-Muara (which includes the capital Bandar Seri Begawan), Temburong, Tutong and Belait. ‘Darussalam’, the Arabic word for ‘Abode of Peace’ describes Brunei’s Islamic history that dates back some 1,500 years. Today, Brunei remains the world’s only Malay Islamic Monarchy with an unbroken royal lineage that has ruled the nation for the past 600 years.

THE LAST WORD WHAT HAPPEN Hillary Rodham Clinton CNN gave a chapter-by-chapter rundown on what Clinton really had to say about her loss in the 2016 race. But if you still prefer to hear from the horse’s mouth, then get the book. The writing is raw, and Clinton offers many insights and personal reflections in this book. Nonetheless, it is still part memoir, part political science treatise and offers a rare look at what it means to be the first woman nominated by a major US political party to run for President.
DINOSAUR ATLAS Lonely Planet Kids Kids will love unfolding maps and lifting the flaps in this book to reveal amazing facts and illustrations about how dinosaurs lived and where they were discovered. They are also tidbits on famous paleontologists and activities for them to measure themselves against life-size bones, teeth and claws. Created in consultation with Dr David Button, a dinosaur expert at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, and featuring iconic illustrations by James Gilleard, the book is both educational and fun, and will keep them engaged for a long time.

MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS Agatha Christie Just in time for the movie release, this film tie-in book is just the right read to get you excited over the screening. As the story goes, it was just after midnight that we find the Orient Express in its tracks. The luxurious train is surprisingly full for the time of the year, but by the morning it is one passenger fewer. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed a dozen times, his door locked from the inside. Join detective Hercule Poirot as he journeys and unravels the mystery behind the murder in classic Agatha Christie style.
13 THINGS MENTALLY STRONG PARENTS DON’T DO Amy Morin An expert in family and teen therapy, Morin offers advice on raising self-assured children in a time where parents worry that they lack resilience to cope with the challenges of this modern world. The book also relates tips on brain exercises to help children find happiness, meaning and success in their lives. The idea is to anchor them in the love of their parents and have a strong support system to help them grow to be better adults.

MUHIBAH
WHERE THE PAST BEGINS Amy Tan Bestselling author of The Joy Luck Club and The Valley of Amazement Amy Tan is at her most intimate in revealing the truths and inspirations that underlie her extraordinary fiction. By delving into vivid memories of her traumatic childhood, confessions of self-doubt in her journals, and heartbreaking letters to and from her mother, she gives evidence to all that made it both unlikely and inevitable that she would become a writer.
