BLACKBEAN PHOTOGRAPHY

THE JOURNEY 2014

BLACKBEAN PHOTOGRAPHY

BLACKBEAN

The first time Louie Tzavaras called me “Blackbean”, was the summer I moved to Whiting, Indiana — I was 12 years old. He gave me this nickname because of my dark complexion and my Mexican heritage. I decided to call my photography business this because it reminds me of my roots. It reminds me of the summers on 1600 block of Myrtle Street and all the fun we had growing up as a kid. This book is also a symbol of my growth as a photographer and a snap shot of my own journey in time. PHOTOGRAPHY

Thank you to the family, friends and new friends that I gave me the wonderful privilege of photographing their moment in time. A special thank you to my wife, Lisa, and three kids for putting up with me, supporting me and giving me space to take on this new endeavor. The following images are a sample of my body of work for 2014. Enjoy. Joseph Gonzalez
