VIE MAGAZINE PROJECT DESCRIPTION For our group commercial studio project, we were tasked with designing a headquarters corporate office for a company that was about to take their business international. The company we created was called Vie, from the French phrase ĂŞtre en vie, which means to be alive. Vie is a magazine company that directly promotes living simply, sustainably and beautifully.

CONCEPT In the design process we came up with a concept of branches on a tree that we incorporated throughout the entire space. The branches helped represent the expansion of their company and the magazine helping spread awareness of living sustainably.

TOOLS USED CAD, Hand Rendering, Photoshop, & Illustrator.

WESTWATER HOSPITAL PROJECT DESCRIPTION For our sophomore review were given the opportunity to create a design for an existing 48,000 sq. ft. building in a labor & delivery unit. This included space planning and the designing of post pardum rooms, labor and delivery rooms, a cafe and a lounge.

CONCEPT We were tasked with taking twelve pictures from nature, abstract them on paper, and then choose six to build as 3D models. Two 3D patterns and two 2D patterns had to be used within the project.

TOOLS USED CAD, Hand Rendering, Photoshop, & Illustrator.

MADCAP CO-WORKING PROJECT DESCRIPTION We were to create a co-working space where people can rent out a space for a period of time. Our project needed to target a certain group of our choice. This was supposed to be designed within one of our capstone buildings we created for Ogden City.

CONCEPT Madcap is a co-working space that invites all entrepreneurs and small start up companies to come and work in a creative environment. With no assigned workstations, renters are allowed to move around freely and work in any area of the building. So each day they can go somewhere new to help them become inspired.

TI NY HOUSE PROJECT DESCRIPTION Design a 1,000 sq ft. residence that is new and different. Learn how to create the building using both 2 D and 3 D CAD. Complete a set of construction documents and a 1/4 scale model.

CONCEPT The concept for my tiny house, Katari, was based upon two different sized triangles. This led to the abstraction process of a pyramid that ultimately guided the design. This building is made up of glass and steel; creating views from anywhere in the house. A steel pyramid rests over the main building playing on positive and negative space within the triangles.

TOOLS USED CAD, Hand Rendering, Photoshop, & Illustrator.

THE GARCIA RESIDENCE PROJECT DESCRIPTION For Junior Residential studio each year one of our professors invites a designer from out of state to give us a project that challenges our design abilities. We are then tasked with not only designing the project but also creating a magazine and video that showcases our work. This year our visiting designer was Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz and he gave us a project for a family of three that live in beautiful Puerto Rico.

CONCEPT Upscale Funk: the Garcia’s will be able to entertain in style in a home that is both glamorous and edgy. Unique artwork paired with classic furniture selections and unconventional accessories, add up to a home that is upscale and funky; perfect for a modern family.

OGDEN RESIDENCE PROJECT DESCRIPTION As part of our capstone project we were to create a residence that could fit within our six block site plan. This home is 2,800 sq ft with 3 bedrooms, 2-1/2 bath, with a garage.

CONCEPT The concept behind this home was Modern Victorian. A mix of molding, antique fixtures, detailing and modern elements helped create the look for these apartments. The color scheme remained neutral with elements of wood, white subway tile, glass, and black iron.

TOOLS USED CAD, Hand Rendering, Photoshop, & Illustrator.
