Aussie Pioneer wins 2011 Australian Business Award for Best Eco-Friendly Product! Manufacturing guru TRI NATURE has been recognised among Australia’s most innovative organisations, winning the Australian Business Award for “Best Eco-Friendly Product” in the 2011 Awards. Tri Nature’s flagship product ‘Alpha Plus Laundry Powder’ brought home the honours for the company in this tightly contested, performance tested category. Commenting on the win, Marketing Manager Leah Fernance said “Our phosphate free laundry powder has been a sell-out product since 1989. We love it, our customers love it, and we are thrilled that such a highly regarded judging panel love it too.” “People are now truly understanding the quality of our products. We have been world leaders in phosphate replacement technology for over 20 years now. The majors are only now claiming that they are going phosphate free. No one seems to have acknowledged yet that the rest of the world has been battling with replacing phosphates for 30 years. Their phosphate free technologies have produced powders that are less efficient and more expensive. Our 30 day money back guarantee is proof in itself that not only have we pioneered such exacting technology, but we have created a product so special that it outperforms phosphated supermarket detergents.” The Alpha Plus Laundry Powder can be found alongside the rest of the outstanding Tri Nature Range at www.trinature.com Further information regarding the Awards, the Company/Product, and the Phosphate Issue can be found on the following pages.

About “Tri Nature & Alpha Plus Laundry Powder” Tri Nature is a 100% Australian Owned company that has been operating since 1989. Tri Nature’s Award Winning products are manufactured on-site at their headquarters in Newcastle, NSW. Their flagship product, the Alpha Plus Laundry Powder is rich in history, being a member of the initial product range the company started with in 1989. Tri Nature’s devotion to their environmental philosophies began well before it was ever considered marketable to do so. Since its inception, Tri Nature products have been considered one of the most gentle choices for families and the environment, being based on natural and renewable resources and plant extracts. Over time, the product range has expanded and developed to include categories of laundry, kitchen, home cleaning, car care, personal care, hair care, skin care, body care, aromatherapy, and specialty baby & kids ranges. The Alpha Plus Laundry Powder is a highly concentrated formula ideal for use in hot or cold washing in hard or soft water areas. The low-sudsing formula makes it suitable for use in both front & top loading machines. Unlike ordinary supermarket powders, Tri Nature’s Alpha Plus contains no phosphates, useless fillers & extenders, zeolites, EDTA, or chlorine compounds. This ensures that the customer is getting what they pay for – a superb cleaning performance at a fiercely competitive cost per use. The gentle formula means it’s a winner on family safety, whilst also caring for the condition of your garments. About “The Phosphate Issue” Major multi-national producers, dragged kicking and screaming into complying with modern concepts of eco-responsibility, have only recently indicated that they will phase phosphates out of all laundry powders in Australia by 2014. Major supermarkets Aldi, Coles, and Woolworths have gained headlines, all following suit with their claims of a phosphate free future commitment. While this has brought to light the crucial environmental issue of phosphate pollution in our waterways, what standards of choice will the Australian consumer be left with? The marketing words flow freely – ‘no effect on price or quality’, but the history of this technology shift tells a very different tale. Phosphate salts account for approximately 30-40% of the average supermarket laundry powder. It is a cost effective ingredient, and exceptionally difficult to replace in terms of achieving a satisfactory wash performance. When many states of the USA legislated against the use of phosphates in laundry detergents in the late 1980’s, the replacement technologies revolved around the use of zeolites – insoluble alumino-silicate compounds that caused SO many problems in some countries that legislation banning phosphates was repealed. These technologies produced powders that were less efficient and more expensive than their phosphated predecessors. This same, flawed technology is what is coming our way.
