As this year winds to a close, it’s hard to imagine that the first decade of the 21st century is drawing to a close. Many of our members cars are safely tucked away for their winter storage awaiting Spring and the first opportunities to drive in decent weather. My thoughts wander to living in a place that’s warm most of the year and a house with more garage stalls than bedrooms! That has to wait for now… but one day!!!
Bob and Lois Barbero receive the Providence House Plaque from Chuck Roman for their many years of dedicated volunteerism in raising funds for Providence House.
As we conclude this year with many events I hope that you had the chance and inclination to participate in one of our monthly (at least) events. This next year has a full schedule of events for your consideration, make sure to pencil them in on your 2011 Calendar. My thanks go out to Les & Pam Connoly for taking the lead and making the arrangements for the Annual President’s Christmas party. This year it was held at “The Glenmoor Country Club” site of the wonderful Glenmoor Gathering of Fine Automobiles in September every year. The meal was excellent as well as the venue, with several members opting to stay the nite at the Clubs lodgings. My thanks also goes out to the many members who help make this an excellent club. As a reminder the January outing is a Tech session at Jaguar Cleveland Jan. The restoration of this 1954 Corvette 15, 2011. Please RSVP Dominic Perri. is being documented by The National Geographic Society. (see Jag Mag events for more info) Merry Christmas, Picures taken in film or digital media will be accepted. Please Happy New Year! include a brief caption about each picture along with your name. Pictures will be judged based on Jaguar content, composition and Chuck & Marlene Roman the whims of the judging panel. The photographer must own all rights to any photographs entered in this contest. It is the responsibility of the contestants to ensure that publication of the photographs raises no legal claim.

Good times once again at JCO's annual Christmas party held this year at beautiful Glenmoor Country club. Roads clean of snow made the trip more pleasant. Our Providence House raffle was once again a big success thanks to the many donors and ticket purchases by our club members. Our contributions over the last 16 years to Providence House has crossed over the $26,000 mark. We have helped a lot of babies haven't we. The club was presented with a special plaque from Providence House which was awarded to Bob and Lois
Barbero for their hard work and fund raising efforts over the years to Providence House. Thanks guys. So many things happening at Jaguar cars. Again the sports car and the station wagon are a go for 2012-13, and the 2012 XF will get a refresh to the grille, tail lights and interior. These models usually get their first showing in Europe so watch the press for the introductions. The C-X75 show car is just that, a show and concept car. You can look for styling cues from it to show up on future models. The propulsion system is nice dream stuff but I don't believe it will ever see the roads. Jaguar is presently offering financing as low as 1.9% on some models which I am sure will convince some to buy, that's the idea isn't it? The new XJ is so popular that it is challenging, in a serious manner, other luxury models, especially in Europe where the diesel model is the best seller. Don't expect to see the diesel here, Americans are not that fond of diesels. We have a good thing going and the future looks bright for our favorite marque. On a personal note, I wish to thank everyone who extended condolences on the death of my mother, who lived a full life until the age of 94. It was greatly appreciated.

JCNA has a very short suspense from the "Official" publisher of the above book. A description of the work can be found in the Nov. Dec. Jaguar Journal (P.43) and the request for interest can be found on the same titled post in the Shoppe forum. It is not the intent of the shoppe to use the Club blast but this situation is an exception. Please get this information to your members and have them indicate any interest by e mailing Publications@JCNA.com. Thanks JCNA Shoppe
Hello JCO Members, I would like to thank the members that nominated and voted for me as the new Vice President of the Cleveland Jaguar Club of Ohio for 2011. As the new Vice President I will work hard to help co-ordinate the events. I would ask all the members to plan accordingly, per our JagMag schedule, to attend as many of the events as possible this year. The more the Merrier. The club can only be as good as the members that participate and get involved. I have only been in the club for just short of two years and I realized that this club is one of the best organizations that I have been a part of. The reason is I have met so many great and wonderful people in this club. Let's continue to make it happen this year and have fun! Regards, Dominic R. Perri Vice President JCO
The Montgomery Zoo will be receiving one of the Akron Zoo’s female jaguars, Nakita. Nakita was born at the Akron Zoo on March 3, 2009. The Akron Zoo will still have three jaguars, another female, Bella, Nakita’s sister, and their parents Chalk and Naom. The moves are part of the Association of Zoos and Aquarium’s (AZA) Species Survival Plan (SSP).

Jaguar Association of Central Ohio is proud to be hosting the J.C.N.A. Challenge Championship in 2011. The event will take place in conjunction with our annual show with the Arthritis Foundation and is shaping up to be our best ever event. For this year only, the show will be a 4-day event running from July 6 to July 9, 2011. Along with the usual Concours there will there will be a rally and a slalom, as well as a chance to meet, and compete, with cars from all over the country. This is the 50th Anniversary of the introduction of the E-type and work is under way to assemble as many of the early external bonnet lock E-types as possible as well as E-Types from all years. Tentative plans call for registration, slalom and a welcome reception on Wednesday, rally on Thursday, family activity or tour on Friday and the Concours on Saturday as usual. Friday offers time to prep the cars and enjoy the Cruise-In and stage show with Saturday being the concours. We are working on lining up tours to local attractions, dinners and what not to make this event fun for the whole family. Keeping things light and casual as is our The Crowne Plaza (Columbus-Dublin) will be the goal for our shows. host hotel and best advice is to book early as this show sells out the entire hotel and then some.
We are very pleased to announce that the other clubs in our mid-west region are going to assist in bringing this event to Central Ohio. Helping in the judging, the rally and the daily events will bring the whole region together for what should truly be a memorable time. Please feel free to contact Jim Baker or George Keller with any questions. We now have a link to host hotel that allows you to reserve rooms online and get the club discount. www.crowneplaza.com/dublinoh . Use group code "gaj"

Fantastic Valentine's Gift Ideas When compared with other Valentine's gifts, jewelry rises head and shoulders above the rest. Flowers are beautiful, but after a few days they die away. Chocolates are scrumptious, but who really needs all those extra calories? Jewelry, on the other hand, is not only the ultimate symbol of romance, it has enduring value and can be enjoyed for generations. Considering all the alternatives, jewelry really is a can't miss proposition. When women are asked what they REALLY want for Valentine's Day, fine jewelry is always among their top choices. Aside from the romantic aspects of jewelry, it also happens tobe one of those rare gifts that is both fashionable and functional.
