TANJONG PAGAR UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB Queenstown Sports Complex, 473A Stirling Road Singapore 148948 Tel: (65) 6479 6930 Fax: (65) 6479 6938 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Tanjong Pagar United Football Club appoints Patrick Vallee SINGAPORE, 15 November 2012. Former Etoile FC coach Patrick Vallee has been revealed as the new Head Coach for the Jaguars. Vallee has signed a one-year deal with the Jaguars with an option of signing on for a second year. Vallee led Etoile FC to the S.League and League Cup double in their maiden year in 2010. After he left Etoile, Vallee had expressed his desire to stay in Singapore to lead a local club. “My first game upon return to Singapore was at Queenstown Stadium. As I have always wanted to coach a local club in Singapore, I asked for an opportunity for next season as I have no commitment elsewhere. I really want to be involved in Singapore football and I have long term visions for football development here. As a club with rich history, I believe TPUFC will be a very good challenge for me. I will be very happy if I can help TPUFC achieve better results next season. My ambition for TPUFC is to improve the club football and reach better standing in the table mid table.” When asked about his football philosophy, Vallee believes in playing a game with short passes and good team movement. “Supporters want to watch a team play good football, and I also want to develop a winning mentality for the team. To me, if you want to be ambitious, you must have a winning mentality.” Before returning to Singapore, Vallee coached AFC Compiegne, a fourth division club in France. Vallee cited a cup encounter against Ligue 1 club Lille O.S.C. as the most exciting during his stint. The fixture saw his side hold the defending champions goalless until they were eliminated by a 115th minute goal in extra time. “I am very happy to be given a chance by the club. TPUFC is not just a team. A club, including S.League, Prime League, Youth teams, Women’s team and the supporters, this is TPUFC. I hope the supporters will come to Queenstown and support the club. Most importantly, I want the supporters to enjoy coming for games.”
