For Immediate Release French Revolution at Queenstown SINGAPORE, 23 JANUARY 2013: Tanjong Pagar United Football Club today unveiled their 2013 S.League squad, which will compete in the Great Eastern YEO’s S.League 2013 season. The new 19-man squad, comprising a mix of youth and experience, looks set to better their 2012 S.League campaign. With seven core players retained from last year’s squad, the Jaguars further boosted the team with former Singapore International and S.League Player of the Year 2012 nominee Ahmad Latiff and five new French players. The club have signed 2010 S.League and League Cup double-winning coach, Patrick Vallee for the 2013 season. The five foreign players also include Monsef Zerka, the Jaguar’s star signing who plied his trade in French Ligue 1 clubs, AS Nancy and AC Nantes. The French-Moroccan has 12 caps for the Moroccan National Team, appeared in the 2008 African Cup of Nations, and netting three goals in the process. Another French signing is custodian Aurelien Herisson whom spent three years with Stade Rennais F.C. before turning out for AFC Compiegne where he played under the charge of Patrick Vallee in 2011. At the unveiling of the new-look Jaguars today, coach Vallee said “It feels great to be back here in Singapore and we have put together a competitive team for the 2013 season. And fans can expect entertaining football from the Jaguars.” Club Chairman, Edward Liu echoed his coach’s thoughts when he mentioned, “We have come a long way in the S.League and it is fitting to say that the squad we have for the 2013
season looks very exciting and has a good mix of players.
