Bioremediation: A Palette for the natural Canvas. Using Permaculture & Phytoremediation across the Dartford Marshes the proposal aimed to create a research centre for natural art that absorbs pollution within the Thames Drainage System. By placing ‘bryophyte canvases’ within the rivers confluence, pollutants would be absorbed, changing the texture and colour of the canvases as the water table fluctuates. This would remove pollutants within the local ecosystem whilst creating ‘Rothko’ esque pieces of natural artwork.
