Gay Vanity Wedding Show A Stylish Gay and Lesbian Wedding Source
PREMIERE ISSUE 2014 GAYVANITYWEDDINGSHOW.COM
Gay and Lesbian Wedding Source Dear Friends, Welcome to a world of imagination where creativity and inspiration are a part of every day. Fred Sullivan and Jaime Botello are proud to offer you the inaugural gay vanity wedding Show: A Stylish Gay and Lesbian Wedding Show 2014.
Gay Vanity Wedding Show was founded in 2013 right after DOMA was repealed. It is a passion that we have as well as celebrating those who are truly dedicated to their craft within the wedding industry. This is what led us to create this magical event that would embody the spirit of all these things. We wanted to inspire and present you the best that LGBT and allied wedding professionals of the San Francisco Bay have to offer, and we wanted to give you an experience that is like no other where fashion glamour, fabulous food offerings, wedding venues, and much more are combined into a singular affair. Gay and Lesbian Wedding Source
We have pulled together a coalition of designers, artisans, experts, corporations, and small businesses within the community who endeavor to share their creative passion with you. They will provide their professional advice and insight into all aspects of your big day, which will be one of the most poignant events of your life. We are all here to help you navigate through the planning of your wedding from your choice of music to where to stage the ceremony and to what to wear while gliding down the aisle. We are honored to do so; it is our desire for you to have the most elegant wedding that is executed with the intention of reflecting your deeply held cultural and personal values. Through your whole decision-making process, we will be by your side to guide you. It is tempting to be mesmerized by having the absolute astonishing wedding. So we want you to envision your wedding day as if it was on the cover of an elegant wedding magazine with all the details attended to and where all your friends and family feel like they are VIP’s in sharing this very magical moment with you and your partner. Your wedding day is one that is truly inspired by your true love for each other; with guests enjoying fabulous food, spectacular floral arrangements, and glamorous hand-crafted wedding cakes at a stirring scenic venue; and dancing the night away to incredible music on one of the most memorable days of your life. This is our idea of an amazing wedding. So please enjoy today and let us inspire you. Warm Regards, Fred Sullivan & Jaime Botello President Vice President

How to GetInMarried California LGBTQ If you are planning to wed in the state of California, you'll need to apply for a marriage license at one of the 58 county clerk offices to ensure the marriage is made legal. Once you've applied, there is no waiting period and you and your intended can tie the knot immediately. Otherwise, you have up to 90 days to marry before the license will expire. Here's how to apply for a marriage license in California.
Do I have to live in California to get married there? No, anyone can apply for a marriage license in California. There is no residency requirement. Is a blood test required? No. Are there witnesses required in order to get legally married? Yes, you’ll need one witness. A maximum of two are allowed to sign the marriage certificate. How much is the marriage license application fee? The fee is $35-$100, depending on the county. Bring cash since some counties don’t accept credit cards. Can I apply online for a marriage license? No. Do we both have to be there to apply for our marriage license? Yes. Both parties must appear in person and bring valid picture identification to the County Clerk’s Office to apply for a marriage license in California. What paperwork is required when I apply for my marriage license? Picture ID such as a driver's license or passport. You should know your Social Security numbers and the state and county in which both of you were born. Gay and Lesbian Wedding Source
Who can officiate the marriage ceremony? Official of a religious order or a deputy clerk or a judge. You can even have a minister from another state officiate your wedding. If I don't live in California, will my marriage be recognized by my home state? The marriage will be respected in California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Hawaii, New Mexico, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington State and Washington, D.C. In Nevada, the marriage will be seen as a domestic partnership. Is my California gay marriage recognized by the U.S. federal government? Yes, it is! If I get legally married in California, will I still need special legal paperwork to protect my family? Yes, if you plan to travel with your partner beyond California State, it will be necessary for you to hire an attorney to draw up paperwork to protect your family in case something happens in a state where your marriage is 6
not recognized. Is a divorce decree required? Yes, if previously married, you will need to show proof of how the marriage ended, i.e. a divorce judgment or a death certificate. These must be certified copies. How do I change my name? You'll be asked your new last name on the marriage application. Once you receive your official copy of your marriage license, you can use that document to change your name on social security card, driver's license etc. If you live in a state where your marriage is not legally recognized, it's much harder and will, in most cases, require a judge's order. When will I get my marriage certificate? You will not receive a copy of your marriage license, until after you have been married unless you request and pay for a certified copy from the County Clerk or County Recorder as applicable.

Couples Want To Be Awesome Brides and grooms want awesome imagery from their wedding, period. They want the unscripted moments captured, but they also want a photographer that can get very creative during a portrait session. That’s why couples everywhere are donning their wedding finery and not only descending into caves, walking on a beach, but plunging into breakers, walking through abandoned amusement parks, wandering through cornfields, wading into forest streams and chasing other wild pursuits in an increasingly popular ritual and edgy extension of Wedding Photography. An additional wedding idea is a “photo booth,” which is more like a portable studio equipped with props and costume items like hats, shawls, fans and the like for everyone to be inspired and let their imaginations run wild allowing the photographer capture the moments.

Choosing a Wedding Photographer 1
Wedding pictures are treasured memories, passed down through generations, and the only commemoration of the thousands of hours spent to plan one of the most important days of your life. Other than the choice of a spouse, the choice of the wedding photographer is the most essential wedding-related decision you will make, and it is not to be taken lightly. Following these steps can help you select the best photographer to record your Big Day.
Decide what style of wedding photography you prefer. Traditional or candid shots? Do you like the glamour? Or a combination of these styles?
2
Decide what level of service, Hours of photography or a complete package.
3
Decide how many images do you want to remember your wedding day by. A higher-end photographer or thousands of images for you to keep forever.
4
Determine your Budget. Photographer fees, prints, albums, etc., generally come to approximately 12% of the entire wedding budget. 5 Research photographers. Ask your wedding planner or friends, visit a wedding show, or checkout prefered vendors of the ceremony and reception sites you have chosen. Also browse bridal websites for information and links to photographers that work in your area. 6 Interview each candidate by phone. Make sure to ask if they are available on your chosen date, how much experience they have, whether they specialize in LGBT weddings, how soon after the wedding you can expect your prints or disk? When interviewing make sure to ask questions about liability insurance, sales tax, an extra shooter, back up camera/gear.
7
Make appointments and meet with the finalist face to face. Look at samples of their work, get a brochure with details about wedding packages, ask for a copy of their standard shot list and ask questions. Notice how polite they are. Ask yourself, “Is this someone I will want to be around when I am stressed, exhausted, dehydrated and overheated. 8 Make an appointment to sign the contract.
9
Confirm, confirm, confirm! Remember: you must confirm appointments, plans, reservations, etc., several times.

Classic, Feminine, Glamorous & Luxurious Lesbian Wedding Styled Shoot
Villa Montalvo is an Italian Mediterranean style mansion nestled in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, in Saratoga, California. The mansion has beautiful manicured landscaping, and it makes you feel as if you are in a romantic fairy-tale. It’s why we chose it to stage a gorgeous, classic, feminine, glamorous and luxurious inspired shoot. Gay and Lesbian Wedding Source
My creative partners and I created the scene for a glamorous lesbian wedding, but staging to unique vignettes, a sweetheart table and cake display. We achieved this effect using a romantic combination of pinks, yellows, greens and gold. Of course it helps to be beautifully captured, and Christine Glebov of Christine Glebov Photography does exactly that. To incorporate the glam we paired elements of ivory and pearl linens by Napa Valley Linens with ordinate menus and place cards by Lepenn Designs who also created the invitation suite. The lovely details of the brides’ wedding gowns from the fabulous Kinsley James Couture Bridal also added the glam and romance to this shoot. The hair and make-up team of Stella Stevens Hair Designs and Kristen Calderaro completed the “glamour” look for our couple. 12 Gay Vanity Gay Vanity Wedding Fair.com Show.com

Luxurious Lesbian Wedding
Classic, Feminine, Glamorous Our sweetheart table was arranged using the perfect vintage china by Le Vintage Milk Glass Rentals and paired with a few key items from A Monique Affair’s rental division, Chloe’s Closet. McCallum Designs beautiful lush romantic centerpiece incorporated the luxurious theme of the shoot. A highlight of the shoot stars the gorgeous three tiered gold dusted, floral cascading cake by Marla Erojo of Cakes Made by Me. Our favorite part of the day was finding out during the shoot that our models (a real couple) got married at city hall in jeans! So this shoot took on a whole new meaning and a few tears from all. We hope you’ll take a minute to enjoy our styled shoot. I have to say this was the most creative shoot we have accomplished at A Monique Affair that truly takes on our signature style. On behalf of my creative partners, we would like to share this shoot as inspiration for all Same Sex couples! Tips
the most special day in your life.
We have such romantic expectation, cultures and notions about weddings. When you've waited so long for the chance to get married, you can get overly attached to certain ideas that will only elevate your stress levels rather than allow you to relax and enjoy this very special day in your life. Be nice, be cool, keep a positive attitude and be flexible. If you want, you can have the worst day of your life. Some people try really hard to make it a bad day. Most of the couples and families in a gay wedding are absolutely amazing. So if their wedding cake melts on a hot day and we end up slicking a whoopie pie together for them, they laugh about it and enjoy the moment, as opposed to someone who is sobbing in a pile of tears because her cake melted. Are you going to look back and say, "My life was ruined because my wedding cake melted?" I hope not. We recommend to try to bring a little humor and levity to situations that can't be helped. That's the nature of the wedding business; it's challenging. Things do go wrong, and you have to know how to roll with the challenges, find an answer to the problem, just be relaxed and understand it could have been a lot worse. Things that can really mess up your gay or lesbian wedding plans can all be ironed out by using the right wedding event experts. Get your budget ironed out, get your itinerary working for you, and, most importantly, be prepared to be flexible about what you want and what is possible. Now make your plans and enjoy your very special day!
