jaimee (and zoe) This is me and my youngest daughter Zoe. I like pretty things and I’m sure you do too (which is why you are reading this magazine). I am not a professional publisher so as you browse through this magazine and something is off - well - it’s free right? Enjoy.

It has been a few months now since my creative team (which happens to be a very large group of ladies!) has been wowing me with their pages using my products. I have been bored and trying to find a better way to showcase their awesomeness.

Give me strength... and ideas on how to tame this (beautiful) journal card chaos

I am a page planning, embellishment making, die-cut assembling, paper cutting, acid-free testing, supply shopping (oh the shopping), fool! - www.scrapbooking.com

I know from my personal experience as a tangible project lifer that you can become addicted to buying journal cards. You collect them as eagerly as you did your garbage pale kid stickers in the eighties. It’s an addiction, and one that I am ok with at this point because (I think) it’s not too out of control (yet). I buy the official PL cards, I of course design my own and buy from a few other scrapbooking companies. I also subscribe to a few monthly kits - Studio Calico being my favorite. So, how do you deal with your insane journal card collection? By color? By theme? Both? This article is recommended for us special breed of pocket scrappers. I am talking about us Hybrid girls. We combine tangible and digital and print out photos and journal cards to put in our albums. One of my favorite things to do is if I design or get my hands on a set of journal cards, I want to

print them right away, stick them in my corner punch and add them to my ever growing collection of cards

to be a designer, blew me away at nal cards! one of her hybrid templates. Normally, hybrid templates, such as She has 2 different box designs. 1 a flip open box, the second a closing box like a deck of cards. These boxes are perfect for your 3x4 cards.

i can‘t help myself

I need more

I swear I‘ll Stop ...after the next becky higgins core kit comes out

in a great big bin of randomness. There is no rhyme or reason to my ‘bin‘ and I keep telling myself.. one day. So after releasing my April Storyteller collection to my creative team, one of girls who also happens

boxes or candy holders, don’t find there way into my every day needs, but when I got a good look at this hybrid project - I saw the light! All my hybrid journaling card organizationsal needs were answered! What a creative and very practical storage idea for your hybrid jour-

Why I love them so much is because you can open the template in photoshop and clip some journal cards to them or design the box however you want! This is practical because I can organize all my kit specifc cards and know exactly which box to grab! I have yet to do this for my entire collection, but I can see it now - my craft shelf full of stacked colorful boxes of journal cards sorted by kits or colors if I wanted!

tephanie Chavers gave me some great photos to share with you and a great example of how to use the kit elements and word art in a non traditional manner.

W

e have seen this before - overlaying word art and cute little icons over your photos, but somehow - I think these examples really show a unique result! I love how they are b+w and the elements and word art are not traditionally white or black - there is a softness to them that I really like - I’ll have to try this sometime!

Jaimee’s favorites There are a few key parts of the collection that I feel I should point out because they can sometimes be easily missed!

• Clippers pack

Don’t miss this fun and unique pack of cool clipping masks! My creative team love them as much as I do and it’s so easy to clip your favorite papers or even use a layer mask to distress the shapes to make them into cool stamps!

• Cut-outs in the element pack

Don’t underestimate the fun of using these cutouts in your layouts!

Treat them like you would if you had cut the quotes or shapes out of your silhouette machine to place on your page!

• Vellum Photoshop Style

There is a hidden gem of a style you might enjoy. When loading up the style in your photoshop / photoshop elements, be sure to try out the very first style in the set. It will make anything into a vellum piece. This is a great effect to apply to word art or smaller pieces of papers. Give them a try!
