El Club Social y Deportivo Independiente del Valle constituye un proyecto nuevo en la historia del fútbol ecuatoriano. Hablar de esta institución es referirse a una organización que verdaderamente se preocupa de sus miembros y se plantea objetivos a largo plazo. Se basa en el desarrollo de formativas, con énfasis en la educación y la labor social. Su meta: producir el mejor talento futbolístico nacional. Se trata de una institución competitiva que promueve la solidaridad y el respeto. Otorga una vitrina para los futuros futbolistas quienes, formados con responsabilidad, cuentan con una sólida educación que les permitirá ser figuras claves en el balompié. Sus objetivos están planteados en forma gradual y no sujetos a la presión del resultado. Por la tenacidad y el esfuerzo de sus integrantes, hasta el momento se han cumplido y superado sus metas. Independiente del Valle es un club solvente. Respeta su filosofía y sus principios de organización, brinda oportunidades a jóvenes talentos. Actualmente, se puede evidenciar que aquellos sueños que alguna vez fueron distantes están cada vez más cerca. Independiente del Valle is a new project in the history of Ecuadorian soccer. To speak of it is to refer to an institution that truly cares about its members and has a long-term objective. It is based on the formative player development, with emphasis on education and social work. Its goal is to produce the best national soccer talent. It is a competitive organization that embraces values such as solidarity and respect. It provides a platform and opportunity for future professional players who formed responsibly, have a solid education that will allow them to be key figures. It is a project that is managed with objectives that are ongoing and constantly increasing, and not through the pressure of immediate results. These objectives have been accomplished with tenacity and effort to beat previously set goals. HISTORY /
Independiente del Valle was established in March 1958 in Sangolquí, a city located in a valley called Los Chillos, which is part of the Metropolitan area of Quito, Ecuador. It was founded on March 1, 1958 and it is the most representative team that has emerged in that locality. Its greatest accomplishments have been achieved in the last seven years, thanks to the joint commitment and aspirations of its leaders and members, as well as the loyalty of the residents of the valley. In 2007, after dominating provincial, regional and national competitions in the Second Division, the Club earned its promotion to the Category B. In 2008, the club began a new project focused on developing the best athletic complex in the country, with the most professional and ambitious infrastructure and installations. It currently offers residence, food and education to over 200 young talents who are between 10 and 18 years old.

In 2009, given the talent and development of the players in youth divisions, Independiente del Valle earned its promotion to the top-flight Ecuadorian soccer. The second division champion won with a core of young players in the first team. It also reached the title in the U-16 and U-18 divisions. The first two years Independiente participated in Ecuador’s first division. The team avoided relegation as it became accustomed to the topflight. During its third year, 2012, the team got the fourth place. In 2013, it reached the second place ensuring qualification for the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana. The team is currently participating in its second performance at the Copa Sudamericana, after having reached the Round of 16 in its first appearance. Independiente also had a considerably good first Libertadores; although, they were not highlighted in a greatly competitive group including Botafogo of Brazil, Unión Española of Chile and the eventual champions, San Lorenzo of Argentina. Nevertheless, the team scored the highest amount of goals as a visitor in the competition´s history.

Uno de los principios de la filosofía de Independiente es el crecimiento integral de los jugadores. Considera la educación como base decisiva en la formación de sus futbolistas para que alcancen su máximo potencial. El complejo cuenta con ocho aulas, con capacidad para cien estudiantes. Los jugadores de las divisiones inferiores reciben clases con tutores privados. Además, hay una sala de computación totalmente equipada con conexión Wi-Fi. Dada la proyección internacional de los jugadores ecuatorianos en los últimos años, una de las prioridades del programa es la enseñanza del inglés, ya que en caso de una transferencia, los jugadores pueden lograr una mejor adaptación.

A central tenet of the Club’s philosophy is the holistic development of the players; therefore, education is an essential element in its improvement to reach their full potential. The Club’s facilities have 8 classrooms for 100 students where players from the lower divisions attend to classes with private tutors. There is also a fully equipped computer room with free Wi-Fi. In recent years, Ecuadorian players have had success in international soccer and in leagues around the world; thus, one of the priorities of the program is teaching English. We believe that, if transferred internationally, bilingual players can adapt faster and more efficiently to foreign cultures.

El valle de los Chillos está ubicado al oriente de la ciudad de Quito. Al sur de este valle, como su zona más privilegiada está el cantón Rumiñahui, y su capital Sangolquí. Esta tierra naturalmente bella, rodeada de volcanes y nevados, bañada por hermosos ríos, ofrece a sus residentes y visitantes un clima templado y una tierra verde y fértil, propicia para la producción del maíz, grano tradicional de la zona, árboles de guabo, zapallo, etc. Tras una historia milenaria, hoy por hoy el valle de Los Chillos muestra un gran desarrollo a todo nivel. Es un polo urbano en constante expansión y un referente en lo industrial, comercial, turístico y deportivo.

El Club juega en el Estadio RumiĂąahui de SangolquĂ. El escenario cuenta con dos tribunas, un palco y tiene capacidad para 7.500 espectadores. Pertenece a la Liga Deportiva Cantonal. Gracias a un acuerdo, el equipo lo utiliza en sus partidos de local. El Club aspira a disponer de un estadio propio en un futuro cercano.

The Club currently plays at Rumiñahui Stadium in Sangolquí. This stadium has a VIP box and two stands, holding a total of 7,500 spectators and belongs to the city’s Regional Sports League. Independiente con la intención de extender su hinchada, cuenta con una escuela de fútbol separada del complejo deportivo para los niños del Valle de los Chillos . El objetivo es fomentar la importancia y los beneficios del deporte en la comunidad. El Club ofrece una actividad deportiva estructurada en una atmósfera lúdica, recreativa, y accesible. Actualmente hay más de 200 chicos inscritos. Además, hay cursos de verano que permiten a los chicos aprender los fundamentos del juego y disfrutar de visitas regulares del equipo profesional.

Independiente, with the intention of increasing the support of fans, has a soccer school for children in Los Chillos valley which is separated from the team’s principal athletic facilities. The aim is to promote the importance and benefits of sports in the community. The Club provides athletic activity planned in a fun, recreational, and accessible environment. Currently there are more than 200 children enrolled. Additionally, the Club offers summer courses that allow the kids to learn the game’s fundamentals, and also enjoy regular visits from the first team and staff.

“INVIRTIENDO EN EL FUTURO DE FÚTBOL ECUATORIANO”
El eje del proyecto que impulsa Independiente del Valle es el desarrollo cabal de jóvenes futbolistas. El equipo cuenta con un grupo de cazatalentos que busca jóvenes destacados de cada región del país.
Desde el 2009, Independiente del Valle resultó campeón en las categorías sub-16 y sub-18, durante cuatro años consecutivos. En la categoría sub-12 quedó vicecampeón en el 2011 y el 2013, y campeón en el 2012.
Al ingresar al complejo, los jóvenes seleccionados cuentan con residencia, alimentación, educación y acceso a las canchas. También reciben el apoyo de personal técnico, médico y sicológico. El Club tiene categorías que compiten en los campeonatos nacionales sub-12, sub-14, sub-16, sub-18 y reserva. Fruto de este esfuerzo en inferiores, el equipo obtuvo numerosos logros en campeonatos juveniles.
En la sub-14 resultó campeón en el 2011. Alcanzó el tercer puesto en el 2012 y quedó vice-campeón en el 2013. En el torneo de la reserva (solo se ha jugado los últimos dos años) Independiente se consagró campeón en el 2012 y llegó a la final en el 2013.

Otro alcance importante del equipo es ser el mayor exportador de talento futbolístico del país. Varios de sus jugadores participan en el balompié internacional, en Alemania y Argentina. También se desempeñan en las primeras divisiones de México e Inglaterra. Adicionalmente se evidencia el buen trabajo en las categorías inferiores, pues cada año el equipo tiene jugadores que representan a la Selección Nacional en las categorías inferiores y mayores. Tres jugadores que conformaron la Selección Nacional en el último mundial, salieron del Independiente del Valle.
El equipo también ha colaborado en varios torneos internacionales para categorías menores. En el 2011, resultó campeón de la sub-18. Representó al Ecuador en la primera Copa Libertadores sub-20, donde llegó a cuartos de final. Además, en la Copa Libertadores sub20 del 2012 llegó hasta la primera ronda. En el 2014, Independiente participó en tres torneos internacionales para divisiones inferiores: Tahuichi Aguilera sub-14, Bolivia (tercer puesto), Copa Santiago de Futebol sub-17, Brasil (cuarto puesto) y Copa Cantolao sub-15, Perú, en la que Independiente se consagró campeón.

The development of young talents as soccer players and most importantly as human beings is at the heart of the project presented by Independiente del Valle. The team works with a group of scouts who bring gifted young players from every region of Ecuador to the Club. These youngsters are then placed in the Club’s training facilities, where they receive residence, food, education and constant access to the soccer courts. They also get support from technical, medical and psychological staff. The Club has youth divisions that compete in their corresponding national leagues which are under-12, under-14, under-16, under-18 and the reserve league.

Outcome of the Club’s largely successful work with youth divisions is the extensive list of accomplishments it has obtained in national youth competitions. Since 2009, Independiente has been crowned champion with its under-16 and under-18 during four consecutive years. In the under-12 category, the Club finished in second place in 2011 and 2013, and won the championship in 2012. In the under-14 division, Independiente was champion in 2011. It got the third place in 2012, and became vicechampion in 2013. In the reserve league, which has only been around the last two years, Independiente won in 2012 and reached the final in 2013.
Another important achievement of the team is to be Ecuador’s major supplier of talent to foreign teams. Several of its players participate in international soccer teams like Germany and Argentina. They can also be found playing in the top divisions of Mexico and England. Additionally, the good work in youth divisions is the fact that every year, Independiente has players representing Ecuador National Team in lower divisions as well as in major leagues. Three players that were part of the Ecuadorian Nation Team in the latest World Cup, were originally formed with Independiente del Valle. The team has also participated in several international youth tournaments.
In 2011, it won the U-18 national league. Independiente represented Ecuador in the first ever U-20 Copa Libertadores, in which it made it to the quarter finals. In addition, in the U-20 Copa Libertadores 2012, the team reached the group stage. In 2014, Independiente participated in three different international tournaments for youth division teams: U-14 Tahuichi Aguilera, Bolivia (third place), U-17 Copa Santiago de Futebol, Brasil (fourth place), and U-15 Copa Cantolao, Peru, in which Independiente was crowned champion.
