REACHING THE SKY LOCATION _MEXICO CITY
LOCATED IN FRONT OF THE TORRE LATINOAMERICANA IN A SMALL GARDEN ON THE BACK, THE PRINCIPAL IDEA WAS TO GIVE THIS GARDEN A PRESENCE BY CREATING A SCULPTURE, THE SCULPTURE DESIGN WAS BASED ON THE TOWER PROPORTIONS, THE NUMBER OF PILLARS IS THE SAME AS THE NUMBER OF PILLARS ON THE FOUNDATION OF THE TOWER, THE SIZE RESPONDS TO THE TWIN. SOMETHING IMPORTANT TO MENTION IS THAT THE GRID WAS MADE BY THE DECOMPOSITION OF THE SPACE IN THE NUMBER OF PILLARS TO CONTAIN THE GARDEN, IN A SECOND STEP THE IDEA WAS TO CLUSTER EVERY PILLAR TO FORM THE VOLUME, THE INTENTION OF THE DIFFERENT LEVELS WAS TO CREATE A LADDER AND TRY TO REACH THE SKY, A LIGHT INSIDE THE SCULPTURE ALWAYS GUIDING TO THE HEAVENS IN HONOR OF THE TOWER THAT WAS CONCEIVED WITH THAT IDEA IN A MOMENT WHEN MEXICO HAD AN IMPORTANT ECONOMIC GROWTH.

THE PRINCIPAL TASK AT HAND IN THIS PROJECT WAS TO RESCUE WHAT MATTERED IN TWO OLD BUILDINGS, UNIFY THEM AND PREPARE THEM FOR USE AS THE NOTARY COLLEGE, THE CONCEPT WAS GENERATED FROM THE RECOGNITION OF THE CENTRAL GARDENS THAT ONCE EXISTED ON EACH BUILDING, THEN THE INTENTION WAS TO GENERATE AN AXIS FROM THE GARDENS, TRYING ALWAYS TO BE RESPECTFUL TO THE EXISTENCE OF HISTORY. DUE TO THE TYPE OF BUILDINGS A SECOND LEVEL WAS CREATED, A MORE CONTEMPORARY ONE, WITH A STRUCTURE THAT UNIFIED THE PROJECT .
THE CREATIVE PROCESS WAS MOSTLY IN SECTION TO GIVE THE IMPORTANCE TO THE REMAINING GARDENS IN BOTH HOUSES.

THREE VOLUMES FOR ACTIVITIES ON SECOND FLOOR, DETAIL OF CEILING THAT ALLOWS HOT AIR TO LEAVE OLD
THE MODEL EXPLORATION FOR THE DETAILS OF THE SECOND FLOOR THREE VOLUMES.
STRUCTURE
IN GREEN AND THE PILLARS ARE ADDITION TO SUPPORT THE OLD STRUCTURE AND TO DIVIDE THE SPACE FOR THE NEW ACTIVITIES THAT ARE DIFFERENT TO THE TYPOLOGY OF THE BUILDING, BUT ALWAYS RESPECTING THE GARDENS.
THE INTENTION IS TO LIVE THE HOUSE ALWAYS FROM THE INTERIOR
ANALYSIS OF THE STRUCTURE WITH THE CONTEMPORARY INTERVENTION, IN SECTION AND IN A MODEL THE EXPLORATION WAS IMPORTANT.
ARTURO B. DE LA GARZA PAVILION LOCATION_ MONTERREY, MEXICO
SITUATED INSIDE AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OF LOW RESOURCES THE MAIN PROBLEM DUE TO THE CLIMATE OF MONTERREY WAS THE NEED OF SHADOW FOR THE KIDS, IN ORDER FOR THEM TO DEVELOP ACTIVITIES OUTSIDE. BECAUSE OF THE BUDGET A PAVILION WAS PROPOSED.
RESPECTING EXISTING TREES AND USING RE USED MATERIALS A CONCRETE BLOCK WAS THE MODULE USED FOR THE DESIGN, AND A WOODEN STRUCTURE COVERED WITH CLOTH GAVE THE SHADOW NEEDED, THE CONTEXT GAVE THE FORM AND THE MATERIALS THE APPEARANCE, AT THE END A PAVILION FOR DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES WAS CREATED.
CONSTRUCTION PROCESS THE WAY AND METHODS OF CONSTRUCTION HAD TO BE EASY FOR BUILDING THE PAVILION IN ONE WEEKEND AND BY NO EXPERT HANDS, THIS IS WHY THE EXPLORATION OF CONSTRUCTIVE DETAILS WAS IMPORTANT.
THE FOUNDATION OF THE PAVILION WAS IMPORTANT, DUE TO THIS THE OWN WEIGHT OF THE MODULE GROUPED TO CREATE A CUBE GAVE THE PERFECT FOUNDATION AND ALLOWED A DOUBLE USE AS GAME OR CHAIR.
THE EXPLORATION OF THE MODULE GAVE DIFFERENT FORMS THAT ALLOWED TO REPEAT IT AND IN CASE IF NEEDED THE USER COULD CONTINUE THE PAVILION WHEN THEY HAD THE RESOURCES, THE EXPLORATION HELPED US TO CREATE MORE USES FOR THE MODULE SUCH AS A STORING UNIT FOR THE KIDS.
CALZADA MADERO MASTER PLAN AND GARDEN TOWER LOCATION_ MONTERREY, MEXICO MATER PLAN TEAM _CB XXXII
THE CENTER OF MONTERREY IS IN DECAY, AND THE GLOBAL SITUATION NEEDS A BETTER USE OF RESOURCES, BE LESS WASTEFUL, DUE TO THIS SITUATION DENSIFICATION IS A SOLUTION FOR US TO DEPEND LESS OF THE CAR, THE CREATION OF GREEN SPACES AND A SENSE OF COMMUNITY IS NEEDED, THIS IS WHY THE CBXXXII CREATED A MASTER PLAN IN ONE OF THE MAIN STREETS IN MONTERREY, THIS STREET IS LOCATED ON THE CENTRE OF THE CITY BUT DUE TO THE DECAY PEOPLE USE IT ONLY FOR PASSING BY IN THEIR CARS, THE NEW MASTER PLAN GIVES THE IMPORTANCE TO THE PEDESTRIAN AND GENERATES GREEN SPACES FOR PEOPLE TO EXPLORE AND DEVELOP THEIR DAILY ACTIVITIES, THE MASTER PLAN INCLUDES MIXED USED BUILDINGS THAT EACH ONE THE CBXXXII DEVELOPED INDIVIDUALLY, BUT WITH THE INTENTION TO MAKE THEM FUNCTION AS ONE. AS SEEN IN THE FIGURE AND GROUND MAP ON THE NEXT PAGE MOST OF THE BUILDINGS LEAVE THE GROUND LEVEL ALMOST ENTIRELY TO THE PUBLIC, THIS FOR INTEGRATION TO THE NEW STREET, IN THIS EXERCISE, THE PARKING WAS ELIMINATED AND THE CAR FLOW WAS THROUGH SUBTERRANEAN LEVELS.
THE MAIN INTENTION WAS TO LET THE CALZADA ENTER THE BUILDING , AND CREATE A GARDEN INSIDE THE TOWER, LET THE PUBLIC SPACE ENTER.
ONE OF THE USES WAS OFFICES THIS IS WHY A FREE FLOOR WAS THE WAY TO GO, IN ONE COLOR THE USABLE SPACE AND IN OTHER THE CIRCULATION AND SPACES OF SERVICE, THE OFFICES HAVE A DOUBLE HEIGHT AND VIEWS TO THE NORTH AND SOUTH. ONE INTERESTING THING IS A TRIANGULAR STAIRWAY THAT ALLOWS YOU TO ENTER TO THE OFFICES..

THE OTHER USE WAS APARTMENTS, THE TOWER HAS THREE TYPOLOGIES, TWO THAT CONTAIN DOUBLE HEIGHTS, EVERY APARTMENT HAS A TERRACE AND EACH APARTMENT HAS AN IMPORTANT VIEW, A FACADE THAT RESPONDS TO THE SUNLIGHT IN EVERY PART OF THE VOLUME WAS INTENDED... APARTMENT FLOOR PLAN 2
THE INTENTION WAS TO CREATE INTERESTING SPACES, THIS IS WHY THE JUXTAPOSITION OF THE GEOMETRY GENERATED BY THE SOLID AND EMPTY GAVE THE TOWER DOUBLE HEIGHTS , THE STRUCTURE ALLOWED TO HAVE EACH USE SEPARATED BY A TERRACE, AS SEEN IN THE SECTION EVERY PART OF THE TOWER HAS AN IMPORTANT VIEW DUE TO THE GEOMETRY. THE CIRCULATION CORE IS THE ONE THAT ARTICULATES THE TOWER AND HELPS THE STRUCTURE. AS SEEN IN THE SECTION THE INTENTION WAS THAT THE TOWER COULD FLOAT ABOVE A GARDEN THAT RELATES TO THE STREET, A GARDEN WHERE PEOPLE COULD DISCOVER IT THROUGH THE CALZADA MADERO AND THE VEGETATION OF THE CALZADA COULD ENTER TO THE GROUND FLOOR.

THE CONCEPT IN THIS PARTICULAR PROJECT WAS TO CREATE AN AREA WHERE PEOPLE COULD MEET AND THE PEOPLE COULD ENTER EASILY FROM EVERY PART OF THE STREET, CREATE A MICRO ENVIRONMENT THAT COULD INTERACT WITH THE OUTSIDE ENVIRONMENT, BETWEEN A HIGH USED STREET AND A RESIDENTIAL PLACE, THE INTENTION WAS TO HAVE A MIXED USE BUILDING, EACH VOLUME WITH A DIFFERENT PURPOSE, HOTEL , OFFICES AND APARTMENTS , ON GROUND LEVEL A STRIP OF COMMERCE TO INVITE PEOPLE INTO THE COMPLEX, EACH ELEMENT WAS INTENDED TO FUNCTION AS A GROUP AND THE COMPLEX IS ARTICULATED BY THE GARDEN IN THE MIDDLE.

A SMALL PLAZA IN FRONT OF A SMALL CHURCH IN ONE OF THE MOST POOR ZONES IN MONTERREY NEEDED AN INTERVENTION, THIS IS WHY WE PROPOSED THE ACTIVATION OF THE PLAZA, BY CREATING A STRUCTURE THAT COULD FUNCTION 4 TO GIVE A MULTIPURPOSE SPACE, WE CONTAINED THE PLAZA THAT HAS A GREAT VIEW OF THE MOUNTAINS, WITH A SIMPLE SYSTEM BASED ON WOOD AND CONCRETE THE MAIN PURPOSE WAS TO PROTECT PEOPLE FROM THE SUN BUT AS THE PROJECT EVOLVED THROUGH EXPERIMENTATION WE FOUND OUT ALL THE ACTIVITIES THAT COULD BE DONE THERE. IN THIS PARTICULAR PROJECT THE TASK AT HAND WAS TO RECOVER A SPACE THAT WAS NOT LONGER USED INSIDE A HIGH SCHOOL, VEGETATION WAS THE ONLY ELEMENT AT HAND FOR US TO USE, DESIGNING THROUGH VEGETATION, CONTAINING AND USING THE PLANTS AS ARCHITECTURAL ELEMENTS AND OF COMPOSITION GAVE BIRTH TO THIS GARDENS THAT GENERATE A WALK WITH TRANSITIONS, ELEMENTS USED: VEGETATION AND SOME ELEMENTS AS WALLS AND BENCHES. WE FIND BEAUTY THROUGH NATURE, THEREFORE THE IMPORTANCE OF GARDENS AND GREEN SPACES IN OUR DAILY LIFE, THIS SPACES ARE FOR THOUGHT AND REFLEXION

THE CANL PAVILION WAS A COMPETITIONS THAT HAD THE TASK OF CREATING PAVILIONS UNDER A BUDGET, THIS PAVILION HAD TO BE VERSATILE FOR MANY ACTIVITIES AND MORE IMPORTANT THEY HAD TO HAVE LIFE BY IT’S OWN, GENERATE IT. OUR PROPOSAL WAS TO HIDE , SORT OF, THE THINGS HAPPENING ON THE INSIDE, YOU HAD TO DISCOVER THE HEART OF THE PROJECT, THIS HEART RECOVERED A SMALL WATER BODY THAT WAS NOT LONGER USED, USING THE BENCHES ALREADY ON SITE WE SIMPLY PROVIDED WITH THIS FIGURE MADE OF CLOTH PROTECTION OF THE SUN DUE TO THE EXTREME TEMPERATURES OF MONTERREY, THE WATER BODY CREATES A SMALL ENVIRONMENT AND REFRESHES TH USERS, A SMALL OASIS INSIDE AN ENORMOUS PARK CALLED FUNDIDORA, A SMALL STAGE ALLOWED ALL TYPES OF ACTIVITIES INSIDE, THE STRUCTURE COULD BE PERFECTLY USED BY THE KIDS TO PLAY.
THE INTERSECTION OF TWO VERY IMPORTANT GEOMETRIES IN ALL HUMAN HISTORY TO GIVE STRENGTH TO THE CONCEPT WAS IMPORTANT, THE CIRCLE AND THE SQUARE, THE CIRCLE GIVEN BY THE ELEMENTS ON SITE AND THE SQUARE IN OUR PROPOSAL, THE INTERACTION BETWEEN THIS TWO GAVE LIFE TO THE PROJECT.

THE CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS ARE SIMPLE, A CLOTH THAT GENERATES SHADOW WITH A GEOMETRY, THE STRUCTURE AND THE OASIS INSIDE ALLOWING VEGETATION AND LIFE TO GROW INSIDE THE PAVILION.

BRIDGE TOWER LOCATION_ NEW YORK, U.S.
THE INTENTION OF A NEW HIGH LINE AND BUILDINGS IN LONG ISLAND THAT WOULD DEFINE IT AND GIVE AIR TO THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE IN MANHATTAN. THIS WAS THE REASON WHY THIS TOWER WAS CREATED, DUE TO THE PROXIMITY WITH ONE OF THE BRIDGES THAT CONNECTS MANHATTAN, THE SAME STRUCTURAL PRINCIPLES ARE THOUGHT FOR THE TOWER, A DYE GRID TO ALLOW THE WEIGHT OF THE TOWER LIBERATE, AND TWO WINGS THAT SUPPORT THE TOWER AND FUNCTION AS CIRCULATION AND AMENITIES, THE MAIN INTENTION FOR THE CONCEPT WAS TO CREATE TRANSITIONS BETWEEN VOLUMES THIS IS WHY CUBES ARE FLYING IN ORDER TO CREATE TERRACES FOR GARDENS , AND TRANSITIONS BETWEEN SPACES, THIS TERRACES TO ADMIRE NEW YORK CITY AND IT’S BEAUTIFUL VIEWS AND LIFE.
