cascade | Jurassic camp house Location : WAVE,

ARIZONA

The Cascade is a volumetric and rhythmic representation of the Wave, in a habitable enveolpe of fabric and wood. The wave pattern wrapping the landscape and the alluring light entering through the cracks in the canyon, stimulated the character of our shelter, a majestic aura in and out.

Rubber coated canvas wrapping the structure for weatherproofing. 60x120mm wooden rafters make up the structure of the roof.

Beds that follow a spatial hierarchy,providing an elevated phychological and physical appearance. Storage unit including both open and closed compartments Sunken pit to provide expansive views of the landscape .

The materials and the color palette creates a comprehensive connect with nature, almost concealing itself within the Wave, becoming an oasis for the visitors.The design utilises vernacular and locally-sourced materials to reduce its carbon footprint and be a responsible as well as responsive strategy. The canvas and lightweight fabric that make the shell enhance its relationship with nature. It provides a comfortable and easy on the eyes composition.

The functions of the built space were assigned volumes according to the spatial hierarchy.

Sloped roofs were provided with skylights to counteract the climatic extremities and allow natural light to seep in.

Keeping in mind the optimum slope for the roof, the skylight profiles and the three volumes were connected.

The tilted roof plane was lofted with the skylight and the footprint to create a unified mass.

ONE11 | CORE AND SHELL OFFICE Location : Sector-132, Noida

ONE11 is a proposed Greenfield Office Project. A Core and Shell Project which is designed for 1600 occupants. Site area: 7917 sq.m Built-up area: 19120.7 sq.m With a Project model capable of floor-wise as well as multi-level office spaces. Maximising the ratio between the floor level and the area of the usable per-level space. Along with that revenue through F&B proposed on the first 2 levels of the superstructure.

Facade The Facade is Parametric, Computational skin with two randomised layers made up of Cross Laminated Timber on the exterior face while the interior has is an expanded metal panel which diffuses the direct sunlight and creates a play of light and shadow.

SATARA URBANITY | MODULAR SYSTEM Location : Sector-17, chandigarh

Chandigarh is one of the first designed cities. Over the years there has been seen a severe decrease in the footfall in some areas of the city which used to be lively. So to aggravate them the solution I chose to opt was to design a Module that can used as a Repeating Unit and upon customisation of the different units, a System is created to fulfil the needs of the user. The idea is to not only think about rejuvenating the deserted area of sector 17 but to create a Modular Sytem which could also be used in other parts of the city or even other cities.

BRAID | RECLAIMING MODERNITY Location : COLOMBO, SRI LNAKA

Braid is a Culture and Learning Centre in Rajagiriya, Colombo for the people of Sri Lanka which welcomes people of all groups and encourages and promotes the traditional culture of Sri Lanka. Braid is a center which encapsulates flexible spaces enabling collaborating and outdoor learning. A designed built inspired by the architectural style of Geoffrey Bawa with keeping in mind the theme of reclaiming modernity. A transition between traditional to modern which is extremely fluid and complex. Vernacular construction techniques to create spaces that resonatewith its time, place and climate. Hierarchy of spaces choreographed by the visual connectivity and circulation along with breaking the threshold with mering the indoor and the outdoors.

AQUAVILLE | AFLOAT

(FLOATING HABITATS)

Location : JAKARTA, INDONESIA

The rising sea levels would not posit a threat to our solution, as it is designed to adapt. Water levels will continue to rise in the future, and the number of pontoons can be easily multiplied by any magnitude the population demands. They can be placed anywhere on water, implying the legitimisation of our solution not just for Jakarta, but for anywhere in Indonesia (and the world). The system that has been designed is completely malleable to the needs and functions of the user group of Jakarta. Infinite permutations are possible, which can be chosen based on requirement. In this way, expansion and scalability have been emphasized, which is crucial when it comes to a solution to rising water levels, and making habitable neighbourhoods for a dense area like Indonesia.
