AUTO BIOGRAPHY
“I DEEPLY BELIEVE THAT A BEAUTIFUL DECOR CAN HAVE A BENEFICIAL INFLUENCE ON OUR LIVES.” - ALBERT HADLEY
I HAVE BEEN DESIGNING BEFORE I KNEW WHAT THE DEFINITION OF DESIGN WAS. STARTING AT A
VERY YOUNG AGE, WHILE OTHER CHILDREN WERE DRAWING THEIR FAMILIES AND TOYS IN ART CLASS, I WAS DRAWING THE LAYOUT TO MY DREAM HOME. I HAVE ALWAYS ADMIRED A BEAUTIFUL SPACE. I DISCOVERED MY TRUE LOVE AND PASSION FOR INTERIOR DESIGN AROUND THE AGE OF TWELVE.
AS A CHILD I WAS GIVEN THE WEEKEND HOUSEHOLD CHOIR OF CLEANING THE LIVING ROOM SPACE
OF MY HOME BEFORE I WENT OUTSIDE TO PLAY. IT WAS A VERY SIMPLE CHORE; MY SIBLINGS AND I, ALL WERE GIVEN SOMETHING TO DO. BUT I FOUND A WAY TO REDESIGN MY ENTIRE LIVING ROOM EVERY SINGLE SATURDAY. I WAS ALWAYS INTO SOMETHING, IF IT WASN’T MOVING THE SOFA’S, IT WAS CHANGING THE DRAPES, OR THE PILLOW ARRANGEMENTS. I SPENT HOURS ON MY SIMPLE CHORE, MEANWHILE; MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS WERE LONG GONE OUTSIDE PLAYING. AND I LOVED TO DO SO, EVERY WEEKEND.
I INHERITED MY PASSION FOR NICE SPACES AND THINGS FROM MY GRANDMOTHER AND I INHERITED
MY SENSE OF CREATIVITY AND LOVE FOR ART FROM MY MOTHER. AND BY THE TIME I STARTED HIGH SCHOOL I KNEW I WANTED TO BE AN INTERIOR DESIGNER. ALTHOUGH I KNEW WHAT I WANTED TO BE BY THE TIME I GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL AND HAD PLANS ON ATTENDING AN ART SCHOOL, MY LIFE TOOK ME DOWN A DIFFERENT PATH. I SLOWLY BEGAN TO LOSE FAITH IN MY DREAMS OF BECOMING A DESIGNER AS TIME WAS SLIPPING AWAY FROM ME, BUT IT TOOK ME TO REALIZE THAT THERE WAS NO OTHER CAREER PATH, AND NOTHING MORE THAT MADE ME HAPPIER THEN DESIGNING SPACES. SO IN 2011 I DECIDED TO APPLY TO THE ART INSTITUTE TO EARN MY DEGREE IN INTERIOR DESIGN.
WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT INTERIOR DESIGN IS BETTERING THE LIVES OF OTHERS. I ENJOY PUTTING MY
IDEAS AND CREATIVE THINKING INTO BUILDING BETTER FOR THE PEOPLE AROUND ME.
