FIX’D
GASTROPUB & BIKE SHOP
01
Restaurant and Retail Design ¡ 1 Semester
Design a complete restaurant/retail space to coexist as one business. The focus of this design was to create a new type of space that blurs the lines in traditional interiors to what a community gathering area, a restaurant & retail store can be.
Redefining Public Space FIX’D is an experimental public gathering space that combines an exquisite gastropub with a bike shop in the back. Founded in the city of Denver Colorado, this establishment focuses on catering to the hip, lively crowd of the town. With its high-cal, low-cal cuisine and expert level bike shop, riders from all over the city can stop by for a quick bite & beer while getting their chain tightened in this one-stop-shop. Local students and other businesspeople are encouraged to use this public/private space for quick meet-ups, and heads-down study sessions in a cool, calm environment.

Residential Tiny House Design ¡ 1 Semester Design-Build Project
Design and build a unique tiny house for a small family. The focus of this design was to create an super-functional and innovative tiny house unlike any tiny house seen before. Special thanks to Habitat for Humanity and Trailer Made Custom Trailers LLC for all of your help.
The new standard of TINY Living Tessa is a tiny home designed in collaboration with Manhattan Habitat for Humanity. This was a design-build project done during undergrad by myself and sixteen other students. We worked together day and night to turn this crazy idea of a class into a reality for a family in need. The team utilized locally sourced building materials and tried to find a shared balance between pushing the limit of exterior form aesthetics and interior functionality.
design + build
Challenges After several months of long, hard, real-world experience, our relationship with Habitat for Humanity slowly began to dwindle. We had to let go of our design control after most of design and rough construction was finished. Although we did not get to see this project all the way through, I am thankful for such a wonderful opportunity to hone my craft and help and family in need.

Making School a Better Place to Learn Sumner’s north addition utilizes furniture systems that challenges traditional teaching styles. Using collaborative break out furniture, conference rooms and flexible classrooms, phase three aims at maximizing learning. Students are encouraged to use the break out spaces during class time. The break out space are not located inside of the classrooms, the gives students the freedom to feel free and act more creative. Conference rooms provide student with the ability to showcase work in small groups or have large presentations. Flexible furniture within the classrooms encourages the utilization of a variety of teaching pedagogies.
Integrated Industrial Design Sumner high school was faced with social difficulties based on their location in Kansas City. These difficulties informed the education board to enforce school security policies. Sumner high school currently has one security entrance, due to the low amount of security vestibules, the flow of students entering the building is disrupted and can cause delays upwards of 30 minutes where people are waiting outside of the school. Our product design team created a new security system that would grant more efficient flow while simultaneously scanning bags, minimizing traffic jams. The newly developed space plan also adds several new security vestibules so everyone can enter the building faster.
