THE CRUIS P

robably the most popular way to cruise the sea is on a large liner. The behemoths are extremely well equipped to offer a Luxury service to rival most five star hotels.

Luxury cruises offer onboard swimming pools, health clubs, cinemas, casinos, tennis courts, a huge number of fine dining options and most even offer small shopping centres. In many ways these cruises can be considered a home away from home.

The most Luxurious rooms are fitted with private bathrooms, Wi-Fi, king sized beds and balconies to view the beauty of the sea. The prospect of visiting a number of destinations all without the hassle of going through airports or the cramped conditions onboard a train means cruises will certainly remain popular, especially among those wanting to travel in style. Popular luxury cruise lines include Cunard, Seaborn, Regent and Crystal. The World residence at sea is a private residential community where the residents travel the globe without ever leaving their home.

If you don’t want to share, a private luxury yacht may be more your thing. Also known as a super yacht, these vessels are expensive, privately owned and professionally crewed. Super yachts usually come with 3 decks; the lower deck contains an exterior swimming platform and may feature a guest cabin, engine room and the crew quarters. The main deck boasts a number of en suite guest cabins, a lounge, dining room, kitchen, the owners suite and even a gallery or library. The upper deck includes a bar, a ski lounge, an outdoor dining area, a state room (which is part of the owner’s suite), a gym, captain’s cabin and bridge. A super deck can be found on some yachts on the roof of the upper deck, this is where the hot tub is normally found. More recently giga yachts have become popular, they typically have 5 decks and incorporate features such as a helicopter landing pad, swimming pool and a mini submarine. These are the elite among super yachts. A more classical and somewhat of a cult ship is a windjammer. This is a large sailing ship traditionally used to carry cargo. Today windjammers offer luxury voyages and offer an alternative way to travel the world’s seas.

IT’S MORE THAN a VACATION

iberate yourself from the schedules and demands of your everyday life on an Island Windjammers Caribbean tall ship sailing cruise. Escape on a beautiful tall sailing ship to secret, unspoiled corners of the Caribbean.

3 / LuxuryLifeStyleGuide 2012 / De Luxe Series

FREEDOM FROM THE ORDINARY This won’t be your typical cruise vacation. No lines, no formal wear, and no pressure. Whether it’s a casual picnic on the beach, dancing the night away on deck, or falling asleep under the sails and stars, each day of your Island Windjammers cruise will be a unique and exciting adventure.

NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED You don’t need to be an experienced sailor to enjoy Island Windjammers cruises! Each day will find you on an intimate Caribbean island in the Grenadines, far from the masses. You might have the opportunity to dive and snorkel in the spectacular turquoise waters, or hike up a mountain and cool off under a waterfall, or take a tour of a fascinating historical site such as an old rum distillery. Or better yet, relax on a deserted beach with a cold beverage and a good book.

Leave your real world behind, and surround yourself with sea, sand, and sails. Rediscover the simple joys of life—sunsoaked days, the snap of sails in the breeze, a wooden deck rolling gently beneath your feet—as you chart a course for a hidden island paradise. Island Windjammers offers year-round Caribbean tall ship sailing cruises to Grenada and St Vincent & the Grenadines on board the schooner Diamant. Built in 1978, Diamant has been well-maintained and refurbished in order to provide the highest level of comfort and safety. Our professional crew works hard to ensure that everything is running shipshape. Diamant hosts an intimate group of twelve passengers in six air conditioned staterooms. All cabins feature portholes, private facilities and 110V outlets. Choose a cabin with a double lower and a single upper berth, or one with both double and single lower berths. Cruises depart year-round from Port Louis Marina, located in St. George’s, Grenada.

heck that your consultant can give you access to ‘non active job seekers’ in your search for the perfect candidate. Some of the most sought after recruits are highly experienced professionals who are not actively searching web job boards and job pages, but are interested in being contacted about good opportunities for which they are well qualified. By employing a team specifically focussed on attracting and maintaining contact with this group, a good consultant can effect the introduction of candidates who would never be drawn in by an advertising campaign.

“The majority of candidates we place are experienced partners, associates and paralegals who are not actively seeking new employment. Thus we provide access to individuals who would be ordinarily very difficult to reach” - GR Law

ust because an item of clothing comes with a designer label, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s stylish or even of a particularly high quality. Trends and fashions come and go with increasing regularity. What’s ‘in’ today could be ‘out’ tomorrow. Basing your shopping habits entirely on the names on the labels is why the term ‘fashion victim’ was derived. The clothes you buy should be the ones that fit the best and the ones that make your feel good about yourself. Sometimes these come with designer labels but sometimes they don’t.

ummer fashion is dominated by the girls – maxi dresses, tunic tops, long skirts and feminine sandals – but what about the guys’ side of things? Just like the ladies, men often have a summer wardrobe they like to break out when the sun shows her face, and the trends and fashions are developing every year to give you new ideas for comfortable yet stylish summer clothing. Whilst the girls are overly concerned with looking great, in general men have a more practical approach. Summer means the time to swap the heavy layers, jackets and wool of winter for breathable shirts and lightweight trousers or shorts. But that desire for comfort and practicality doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice the perfect summer style.

One of the hottest men’s fashion trends this summer is the shirt as a jacket. That’s right – a light shirt that you can wear over a t-shirt or vest as a summer jacket. Floral men’s shirts come in a variety of different styles and fabrics, but you want to keep things simple and cool, so try pairing a light cotton polo shirt with a plain white sports shirt on top. When it comes to the extremely hot weather, you will be grateful for a light cotton fabric, but if the weather happens to change quite suddenly or you are out on a cool summer’s evening, the second shirt will act as a jacket to add that extra layer to maintain the perfect body temperature. You could pair a patterned t-shirt, perhaps with a graphic design, with a plain work shirt on top, or consider a plain vest top underneath with a patterned shirt overlay. The big print for men this summer, as always, comes in the form of floral men’s shirts – you know when you see one that summer is definitely in style.
