When using bright light or light therapy devices for treating SAD full spectrum light is not only critical, it is more effective. Our eyes see definition and color through the lighting environment we are placed in. Night time vision, which uses narrow “rods”, views the environment monochromatically, or in gray scale. Daytime vision is made effective by the use of wider “cones” in they eyes. We see details as light is reflected off each object. The brighter the light, the more we can see. The more we see, the greater the requirement for clarity and contrast. This is done by superior quality of our HD full spectrum lighting that duplicates the visible wavelengths of sunlight at noon and uses both high clarity and balanced color phosphors. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) results from lack of exposure to natural light by being indoors or during the dark winter months. The closest thing to natural daylight is HD full spectrum lighting. Our customers have used HD lighting products in homes, offices and schools to alleviate problems associated with lack of natural light. HD full spectrum lighting also significantly reduces side effects associated with use of poor light quality used in many light therapy devices. The light we use does not produce any harmful Ultra Violet Rays in any wavelength. HD full spectrum lighting is produced by using a patented blend of phosphors and is not offered in electrical supply or lighting supply stores. Many companies claim they use high quality bulbs in their fixtures but do not supply accurate specifications. The Berkeley Lamp II was developed by Full Spectrum Solutions in partnership with the California Lighting Technology Center at the University of California, Davis with support from California utilities and funding from the California Commissino's PIER Program, and the U.S. Department of Energy. The original Berkeley Lamp was developed as a high-quality, energy-efficient alternative to overhead lighting. The lighting system increases visibility while reducing energy use by allowing the overhead lighting system to be turned down or off. Although originally developed for hospitality and residential applications, further studies have shown similar benefits in small commercial and home offices as it is ideally suited for computer tasks. The Berkeley Lamp II has been developed based on the success of the original Berkeley Lamp but engineered with improved optics, performance and reliability. The Berkeley Lamp II combines task and ambient lighting all under one shade. Added convenience of a bonus 120v power outlet at the base of the lamp, and quality dimming technology adjusts both 91 CRI bulbs independently from 100–20% for maximum comfort. It has been designed to fit any aesthetic with multiple shades, and two color temperature bulbs available (5500K & 3500K).

PureLite® Full Spectrum Incandescent Bulbs Neodymium full spectrum lighting closely simulates natural daylight with a kelvin temperature of 4900k. This is achieved by using the rare earth element neodymium. Neodymium allows the bulb to filter out the yellow light found in the center of the light spectrum (550nm). By reducing yellow light, the eye can more easily see through the rest of the visible spectrum. Colors are brighter and more vibrant, skin tones appear natural, black and white contrast is increased, visual acuity increases, eye strain is reduced and readability is improved.
