THAILAND Until 1928 the Siamese (former Thailand name) currency unit was tikal, later replaced by the baht. Thailand is famous for issuing unusial and beautiful commemorative banknotes, some of which are presented here. 1 baht equals 100 satangh.

BOSNIA This currency unit was introduced in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1998 after the major split of Yugoslavia and a period of hardest inflation of Bosnia and Herzegovina dinar. Every banknote has 2 types, issued in national languages.

ENGLAND The pound is used in Britain
since the X century. It consisted of 240 sterling (silver pence), which gave the name to the currency. The banknotes first appeared in 1694 when the Bank of England issued it's first notes. 1 pound equalled 20 schillings and 240 pence.

JAPAN The yen as a common currency for Japan was introduced in 1871, when it replaced various types of regoinal currencies throughout the country. Gold standard was introduced in 1871, too. Since 1973 the yen is in free floatation and free convertible currency.
YEN
IRAQ Until 1917 the legal tender in Iraq was the turkish lira, in 1917-1932 they used indian rupees. Until the Dinar was introduced in 1932. And in the 1990ies the Dinar was seen as one of the world's most expensive currencies.
