NORFOLK POSTAL HISTORY THE PENGELLY COLLECTION. A FURTHER SIX EXAMPLES The Pengelly correspondence includes some of the earliest letters recorded with Bishop Marks. The following lots are from the remarkable archive and, thanks to the research of Patrick Pearson VRD, it is clear that manuscript annotation of date is in similar style to the first recorded Bishop Mark handstamps made by Pengelly. Thus it is likely that Henry Bishop may have copied Norfolk practice and the early examples in this sale are important items of Norfolk Postal History. Charity Coin Kiloware The follwoing Charity Lots are mixtures and are collected across East Anglia and some of the agents have raised thousands of £'s. We do not regulate or examine the contents in any detail. If the mix is GB Copper or mostly Cupro we say so. If the mixture is foreign we say so. We price the mixtures at a very low price per kilo. If you are looking for unchecked mixtures, or the odd 'find' you should not be disappointed and the charities will have benefited and our feedback will not have suffered.
