Where is the best location to intervene?

The images of stakeholders and vacant land along the two streets give us a good understanding of the quality of the existing environment and where interventions are needed. To make a decision about where the best place to start is we can create a criteria for intervention in addition to visual observations of street conditions.

1. Be directly on the street. 2. Be adjacent to multiple land uses. 3. Be central to the length of the street. 2

What do the interventions look like?

Below are the vacant sites selected as the best candidates for use. They were selected based on observed conditions and the application of the judging criteria listed above and applied in the diagrams to the right. A before image of each shows the current condition and photo c o l l a g e s s h o w h o w i d e a s c o u l d b e a p p l i e d t o t h e m to improve conditions for community use.
