Engel is a new television channel dedicated to showcasing the visual wonders of German art house films. Never before has a single television network had the vision of presenting the best in German cinema to the public. Engel is now here to change that. A new channel, a new vision, a new brand. Our uniqueness is something that channels through not just the films we present but the way in which we present ourselves. Our visual language is a vibrant new voice thats screaming for your attention and wants to entice you as we share with you a form of art we hope you will come to embrace and be enthralled by. This our vision, and this is how it must be viewed.
Engel Identity Core Elements
Our Logo The concept behind the logo was to create a recognisable symbol for the tv channel that works across all forms of communication: television, web, billboards, stationery etc. The logo depicts a halo inside a speech bubble, a halo representing ‘angel’ and the speech bubble signifying the fact that Engel films are foreign language films. The logo can stand alone or with an accompanying typeset logo. The aim is that when Engel becomes a more established and widely recognised brand the symbol itself will become synonimous to the channel and will be instantly recognisable. Meaning the symbol can be used more on its own with time. The accompanying typeset logo uses the typeface DIN Black, a widely known & used, modern looking German typeface to reference the fact that the whole channel is a showcase for German Art House films and German culture.
