I’m James Hacker with over 15 years of experience in editorial and commercial photography. This means your wedding photographs will have a dramatic, sharp and innovative style.

Through regular commissions I am constantly producing fashion led images for musicians like Roni Size or award winning pictures for clients like Toni and Guy.

Since completing a BA Hons in Photography in 1996, I worked my way up the photography business and soon became a successful freelance photographer.

My fresh and contemporary style developed through these commissions influences the wedding images I produce.

As a Professional Photographer I bring this valuble knowledge and experience to your wedding day.

“IT’S MORE IMPORTANT TO CLICK WITH PEOPLE THAN TO CLICK THE SHUTTER.”

I supply all the best images to you - in high resolution, colour graded and enhanced.

You don’t want someone bossing you around all day. I shoot a lot of repotage images.

You want a photographer that will get on well with you and your guests, making you feel relaxed.

Timing is key - being in the right place at the right time is my job.

Capturing moments you probably will be too busy to notice.

“ALL I REALLY WANTED TO DO WAS WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY.”

“AND NOW FOR YOUR CLOSE-UP.” My unique take on the photo booth brings it kicking and screaming into 2016 by introducing the ring flash. It’s an amazing way to capture quirky images of everyone. The use of props from party poppers to silly string or anything else you want to throw at it means you’ll see more action than in Helmand Province. The ring flash was first invented back in the ‘50s for use in dental photography. Now, I’ve recognised the potential of the beautifully even lighting the ring flash gives to create fantastic wedding photos where everyone looks amazing. How does it work during the wedding? Simple. I set up the ring flash usually after you’ve all eaten and then with the help of the ushers get everyone to stop by and strike a pose. The result is an hilarious set of pictures that look as glamorous as a Vogue photo shoot but will have Grandma laughing until her teeth fall out. Heck, you could even use one of the shots as a Thank You card. Some examples of photos taken with the ring flash are on this and the next page.

“IF I COULD TELL THE STORY IN WORDS I WOULDN’T NEED TO LUG AROUND A CAMERA.”

“PHOTOGRAPHY IS THE BEAUTY OF LIFE CAPTURED.”

“I AIM TO GET AT LEAST ONE SHOT THAT IS GOOD AT EVERY WEDDING.”

“I SAID YES” “I Said Yes” - the pre-wedding photoshoot, is an opportunity for you to get to know me and settle any nerves by getting used to having yourselves photographed. If you have already created a bond with your photographer it will make you more relaxed when it comes to the photos on the big day so you get the very best shots. To help make these images special, choose a location that has some significance to you both to create some bespoke art that will prove you look awsome on camera. Or use props and lighting to enhance these images. Hacker will work with you to make this a fun and exciting experience. It can also be arranged for a professional make up artist to come along who can make you look stunning, not only in a mirror but also show the true potential of your wedding photographs. The edited images are yours to treasure and couples often use and integrate them into the wedding day itself. They could be used for “save the date”, table plans or thank you cards.

“I WOULD LIKE TO BECOME A BETTER PHOTOGRAPHER. I’M WORKING ON THAT.”

“DUST OFF THE DRESS” There’s a lot to fit into a wedding day. Couples are often torn between spending time with their family and friends - making sure not to miss a minute of the party, and wanting creative photos taken of them in all their finery on the big day. But there’s a simple solution to this problem: “Dust Off The Dress” - a post-wedding shoot. Once you’ve got over your hangover and the last of the long lost relatives have trundled home, get back into your party clothes and the both of you can re-live the day (or part of it) all over again. Or ‘Dust Off Your Dress” to celebrate an anniversary (as long the dress still fits and there’s no baby bumps to get in the way!) The shoot can take place at the wedding location - or somewhere totally different, it’s up to you.

“ALMOST NOBODY DANCES SOBER, UNLESS THEY HAPPEN TO BE INSANE.”
