Exclusive Interview with Multi Talented Baraka Campbell!! Tell us a little about yourself. Hey, whats up? My name is Baraka Campbell. I’m 15 years old . I’m a vegetarian, was since 1997, for the animals. I have a strange addiction to Oreos and I have a bad allergy to peach apricot punch. People call me witty and clever and I always have a joke up my sleeve, some cornier than others. I’m a lot of fun to be around and have the magical gift of making people feel better. I’m really into mature TV shows such as Fringe and Alphas. Psych and Leverage are kind of my favorite funny shows and iCarly and Victorious are my favorite childish shows to feed the child in me. My favorite music artists are 3!oh!3, BoB, Matt and Kim, and Karmin, they rock.
What kind of art or performing do you do? I’m a singer/model/photographer/video director. I know its a bit much for a 15 year old to tackle but what can I say? I am who I am. How long have you been doing this? I discovered my talents when I was young but it was up until 2009 I started putting my talents to use. Where did your inspiration come from?
My inspiration mainly comes from my family, if you really knew them you would realise how talented and supportive they are in any endeavor I make. Do you remember the moment you fell in love with it? If so can you describe it? I’ve been singing and modeling almost my whole life I really can’t remember when I started. But with camera’s that’s an easy one. I was about seven years old when my uncle( he’s a freelance photographer) let me use his most valuable camera, it was like i was capturing the world with this little device. It was like i was looking in an alternate universe played by my rules. What drew you to this particular field/talent? My uncle played a big part in my wanting to be involved with camera and my vocal coach (who was pretty big in Greece) Christos Alexandros said and I quote ” With that voice, you’ll have a bright future in the entertainment industry” Tell us about your current projects or activities. Right now I’m soon going to be working with an associate of the rapper and music producer Timbaland which I’m pretty excited about. Which of your projects are you most proud of and why? My favorite project was with the AVG. It stands for Advanced Vocals Group. It was fun to do and it was one of my first projects. Which of your projects do believe defines you as an artist the most? I was a director and cameraman for my family reunion. It wasn’t really official but it should the best of my filming talents.
