Meet Musician Jeffrey Andrade!! Tell us a little about yourself. I am Jeffrey Andrade, a full-time freelance musician (guitar and drums) for artists throughout NYC. My main concentration has been my original project Hamin Reed. What kind of art or performing do you do? Hamin Reed is a Cerebral Folk Show. How long have you been doing this? I’ve been working on this particular project for about 7 years. Where did your inspiration come from? Most of the inspiration has come from bands I’ve listened to growing up and the rest from human behavior. Do you remember the moment you fell in love with it? If so can you describe it? My love of music started very young, before I can remember. It has resurfaced when I was about 16, again when I was about 22, and I’m sure another wave is coming soon.
What drew you to this particular field/talent ? I originally started playing drums for the school band at age 7. Tell us about your current projects or activities. Currently, I’m playing guitar for Ryan Amador and Les Bicyclettes Banches and I’m playing drums for Dynamite Daniel and Psyche of Sound. Which of your projects are you most proud of and why? Besides my own project, Psyche of Sound is my biggest challenge and I’d say I’m most proud of it over all the others. What sets you apart from other artists in your field? What sets me apart from other artists in my field is the amount of work and dedication I put into my art. What is one of your most memorable moments/experiences in your field? To be honest, I’ve had many great experiences doing what I do and it’s hard to put any in front of any others. At this point in time. I’m pretty much just focused on what’s ahead of me. What advice would you give yourself if you could go back in time to when you first started? If I could give myself advice when I first started, it would be, “Don’t doubt yourself… much.” If you could be doing anything in your artistic/performing career right now, what would you be doing? If I could be doing anything in my career right now, I’d be working full time on Hamin Reed, incorporating the other projects I’ve joined into it. How can people contact you or follow your progress?
