I walked into the Raven’s Shroud club, the place was clearing up only a few people were sitting at the bar, glitches in my programming kept bringing the life I held in the back of my mind, I walked to the bar and as I sat down I asked for a drink. The bartender handed me a shot glass with a clear liquid. I knocked it back then I heard the door slide open letting the sunlight in, the man’s boots echoed his steps towards me. He took a seat and flicked off his sunglasses. “Jack and coke make it a triple” his voice sounded groggy, he took a sip before he said to me. “This place use to be a happy place, we use to party, get drunk the world was a much better place” he said, coughing his lungs up. He pushed himself into me. “Hey last time I was here, I was with the woman I loved” he said looking at his glass then he pointed at it the bartender filled it up to the brim the man gave thumbs up before knocking it back. By that point I had to say something. “You know drinking like that will lead to an early grave” I said. “Yeah I know why do you think I can do that? This place was the last place me and the woman I loved felt free mate” he replied, shoving his hand in his pocket, when he raised his hand there was a silver ring with blue gems encased in the centre. “This was the symbol of our promise and now it’s gone, she loved another man I was just peacetime bud, I fought for this country and
with her love I felt unstoppable” he said, he placed the ring on the counter. “You fought for this country?!” I said then he placed his hand open on the counter then he picked the ring up with his other hand then he dropped it. It was then I noticed something the ring wouldn’t land in his hand it stayed in mid-air. I looked up and there his face was staring right at me. His face looked pale, the wrinkles around his eyes and the bags underneath looked horrific, his eyes glowed blue and a huge scar ran down the right side of his face, I noticed one eye was flesh yet the other was metallic. He had a long auburn beard and his hair was shoulder length. “Wait you’re … you’re him….” I said, I quickly sat up grabbing my pistol aiming it at him. His voice suddenly changed into something people would see in a king. “Vergil Ventrue sit down. You are no longer part of the Fourth” he said with authority. I stood there frozen with fear pointing the pistol at him. “How do you know my name?” I stuttered, he looked back at his glass. “You know what you should just put a bullet in my brain, Katherine doesn’t want me anymore, she loves this other guy a man whom shouldn’t even be here but he is” He said looking back at the ring.
“This is what the great Jonathan Tesla has become an emotional wreck?” I said, something snapped in him and before I knew it I was thrown against the wall, he somehow was holding me up in mid-air. “Jonathan what are you doing?” “I’m holding everything back you idiot because if I go no one is gonna stop me” his real eye flickered from blue to red, he threw me back to the counter. “When I destroyed Caedus I let the monster take control once it was free I had to use every ounce of strength in me to get me out of there because he doesn’t love or care he just wants to destroy” Jonathan said, he still had the ring floating in his hand. “Do you ever put that ring back on?” he looked at me before shoving it back in his pocket. “No, its soul mate isn’t being worn so I don’t wear it she has another mans on her finger, that’s why I disappeared and I knew if I stayed I would do something that would make me loose her forever” he replied, pointing at the glass again it was refilled he knocked it back before he tapped at it. “So, therefore I’m here Vergil you want to know why you have that blocker installed well I made it for me in case I lost her bud I was going to use it but you were ill and they installed it to stop you killing yourself” he patted his hand on my back and I suddenly felt the electricity run up my spine. “This will hurt but you need it”
