Kidlington FC was founded in 1909 and played local village rivalry was so keen that players had to prove they were residents of the village for whom they played In 1945, Kidlington moved from village football to play in the Oxford City Junior League, with a good deal of success in both league and cup. By 1951 the Oxfordshire Senior League was entered, where stronger compe- on was provided by the likes of Witney Town; Morris Motors; Pressed Steel & Thame United. In 1953 The Hellenic League was formed and the Oxon Senior League immediately lost some of its stronger

clubs to the new league. Kidlington won the Senior League tle that next season, joining the new league in 1954. Early days in the Hellenic League showed quite clearly the difference in standard. Kidlington maintained a Premier Division place for a me, but spent most of the 60’s in Division One. The 70’s started with winning the Intermediate Cup Final, along with two further County final places in that decade. A squad of good young players produced Kidlington’s best ever run in an FA compe- on, when in 1976-77. Having played every round but one away from home, Kidlington reached the last 16 in the FA Vase, bowing out to Gosport Borough. The nucleus of this side eventually gained promoon back to the Premier Division in 1979-80. The 80’s saw Kidlington return to Division One of the Hellenic. The early 90’s were steady. Season 94-95 brought silverware at last, Marn Bakers’ Reserves side did the League/Cup double. An upturn in the first team fortunes occurred when Karl Grossmann assembled a formidable tough tackling side, finishing in the top 6 of Division One in four successive seasons.

The new millennium brought with it a major overhaul to the commiee and a new Chairman in Geoff Talboys. In 2004-05, under the guidance of Kevin Walton the first team finish in third place and with it promoon back into the Hellenic Premier Division. With promoon came a struggle with the considerable difference in the standard of football compared to Division One, losing the first twelve games. The season petered out in frustra- on as the team finished in a relegaon posion … however a naonal non-league restructure saved us from the dreaded drop. In 2007 - 2008, first team silverware arrived at Yarnton Road for the 1st me in over 30 years, winning the Hellenic Floodlit Trophy under the guidance of manager Paul Lee. With addional honours from the Reserves, who won Reserve Division One for a second consecuve season, The Youth winning the Oxfordshire U18 Youth Cup. To cap a fine season Kidlington Vet’s retained their Veteran League crown. Season 2008-09 was again a good one for all our teams. Our 1st Team finished in a very respectable 9th posion in the league and had some good cup runs, the Reserves finished 3rd in their league. In 2009-10 came a new Chairman, Lloyd Wray and with him a new manage- ment team, ex-player Gordon Geary was recruited to look aer 1st team affairs and Barry Hiles to run the Reserve team. 2010-11 saw the club under the same management structure achieve its most successful season ever; finishing 7th in the Premier League, a superb effort by all saw us play a very strong Oxford United

team at the Kassam Stadium, but unfortunate- ly losing the final of the Oxfordshire Senior Cup. However we did win some silverware beang Purton 3-0 in the final of the Supplementary Cup. In December 2011, Gordon and his backroom staff of Keith Appleton, Paul Harwood and Barry Hiles decided they had taken the club as far as they could and stepped back from managing the Club. Players Danny Legge and Chrisan Perkins stepped forward to guide the club through ll the end of the season. This season was very frustrang but owing to some decent early league results the club maintained its Premier Division status. In 2012/13 a new first team manager in Ex-Oxford United striker Paul Berry was installed. However he resigned aer only three matches to pursue alternave opportunies. Gordon Geary and his previous backroom staff were persuaded to come out of rerement and were re-appointed during the second week of the season. Geary and his team managed to assemble a squad with the ability to avoid the dreaded drop, finishing in 13th place. Having taken over in the crisis, Geary and his management team again resigned having “got the job done” of avoiding relegaon.

During the summer break the club installed Marn Wilkinson as 1st team manager and Kidlington finished 6th in the league, making club history, also reaching the Senior Cup Final again aer beang Oxford United FC in the semis. Unfortunately we lost again, this me to Ardley United.Season 2014-15 saw Marn Wilkinson again at the helm assisted by Paul Harwood. The team finished in their highest ever league posion of 4th place. For the first me the club also ran a Ladies team who entered into the Thames Valley Ladies League. Season 2015-16 was a dream come true for everyone at KFC with Wilkinson and his team of Paul Harwood, Julian McCalm- on and Jermaine McSporran leading the team to the Hellenic League Premier Division Championship. We also had our best ever runs in both the FA Vase where we reached the last 8 before bowing out to Bowers & Pitsea aer a replay and also had a very healthy run in the FA Cup, losing eventually to conference side Gloucester City. Truly our best ever season my some margin. For this season 2016-17 Wilkinson lead the side as we embark on our 1st season at level 4 of the football pyramid in the Evo-Sk League Division One Central, but due to work commitments Wilky resigned shortly into the season. Jermaine McSporran took over as caretaker manager unl the club were pleased to announce the appointment of Julian McCalmon as the new manager. Despite a brief spell at Abingdon Town, Jules has managed to maintain Southern League Football for the first team. The development team has gone from strength to strength under the leadership of Nick East and Barry Hiles reaching four cup finals in four years including promoon from Hellenic Division Two in 2016-17, the Hellenic Chairmans Cup in 2016-17 and a first Oxfordshire Intermediate cup success for 34 years in 2018-19. Kidlington Development are now an established Division One side

Three minutes before the end of normal me parity was restored, only to see the chance of a point vanish with Lydney neng on 90 minutes. Despite dominang play Brimscombe & Thrupp lost the opening fixture of the season 0-1 to travelling Binfield. Virginia Water manager Ceri Jones commented aer the match against Tuffley Rovers. Division One East

Risborough Rangers took the points with a 2-1 home win against Abingdon United. Despite the "Railwaymen's" goal keeper being sent off early in the second half Didcot Town Development took the local derby bragging rights away with them from game against Milton United at the Height's. Whilst Milton pressurised Didcot for most of the game and had numerous goal aempts, they could not deal with the clinical breakaway forages of the visitors. Thame Rangers and Aldermaston earned a point each form a 2-2 draw in the fixture at Thame's ASM Stadium.

One West

Hellenic League new boys Wellington and promoted Bourton Rovers played their first ever game in uhlport Hellenic League Division One West. A ghtly contested affair with Wellington scoring a breakaway goal well into the second half. A match described by the home side as an "Excellent exhibion of Hellenic Division One football". Cheltenham Saracens opening game at home against Tytherington Rocks was set to be a challenge following whispers of the Rocks making some great signings this summer. Shortwood United, returning to the Hellenic aer a seven years, and debutants Hereford Lads Club shared the opening fixture points. Wood's Jim Cunnen commented aer the match. Hereford Pegasus (Previously known as pegasus Juniors) celebrated their return to the uhlsport Hellenic League with a 1-3 away win at Newent Town. A "bakers dozen" was recorded by Malmesbury Victoria at the Flying Monk ground with vising New College unable to reply. Our present club was formally established in 1905 when it is believed that it adopted its first formal constuon. It achieved its first great success in the 1911/12 season by winning the Wycombe League. This Championship side was captained by George Slade, of Slade’s Garages, who later achieved fame as a champion motor cyclist and side car competor.

Like many village clubs it lost a number of its playing staff during the Great and second world wars. Indeed, the Cricket Club pavilion is a listed building and a memorial in remembrance of the lives lost

French School Meadows, the home ground, takes its name from the long since demolished 18th century School catering for orphans of the French Revoluon. The pupils wore a blue uniform with white feathers in their hats giving rise to the clubs blue and white strip and the club logo. French School Meadows was purchased in 1949 (before then the team used to play on the back common) showers were installed in the 1960ʹs, the brick building built in the 1980ʹs and the extension developed in 2001. Prior to the building of the club house the HQ for the club was the Horse & Groom Public House. Penn & Tylers Green FC is not only one of the oldest clubs in the county, it is also one of the biggest village sides. Every weekend some 400 children, youths and adults pull on the blue and white stripes of Penn & Tylers Green Football Club.

Our Club History

The age range spans from the “Fantasc Footballers” (under-fives) through every age group and all the way to youth and senior footballers including girls and ladies secons. Each team has a number of qualified, dedicated volunteers who ensure the conn- ued success of the club. We are quite simply, the biggest organisaon in the village provid - ing vast numbers with the opportunity of parcipang in a marvellous team game. The club owes a huge debt to previous commiee members and volunteers who have worked relessly over many years to provide the excellent facilies that we all enjoy today.

The funcon room and pao of the Sports and Social Club, provide an excellent seng for a hazy lazy aernoon, watching Cricket, Tennis and Football in close proximity in an idyllic seng with views over the Chilterns and areas of outstanding natural beauty. The new extension is for hire and is ideal for meengs of local clubs. Given the number of Penn & Tylers Green Football Teams playing each week, it is simply not possible to accommodate all of them at our home ground. That is why we remain grateful for all local schools and recreaonal grounds for their connued support of the Club. However, it remains the desire of the Football Commiee to ensure that as many Penn & Tylers Green teams as possible can play at French School Meadows and truly call it “home”. We connue to demonstrate our commitment in providing mini football to the children of the local area, they are our future.

The club is also desirous of improving the senior pitch all the me to ensure that they have the best possible playing surface. The club is a holder of the presgious FA Community Charter Status and is proud of both its illustrious past and its plans for the future.

We are proud, of course, that The First Team won the Hellenic League – Division One (East) tle in season 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 and the Reserves wining the Hellenic League – Division Two (East) tle in season 2015/2016. The Reserves also won the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup in Seasons 2013/2014 and 2014/2015

Kidlington Development vs MarlowUnited 3-1

Kidlington’s development team won their opening match in Uhlsport Division One East on Tuesday night. The victory was a magnificent team effort against avery strong Marlow United side by three goals to one. Despite having to defend for large parts of the match they thouroughly deserved their victory.

Teenage midfielder Aaron Morton tapped home following up his own header aer 15 minutes, then debutant striker Ellio Powell picked himself up aer being fouled and scored confidently from the penalty spot aer 25 minutes. The greens led 2-0 at half me but this match was far from over and substute Jean Clade Eenne reduced the arrears for Marlow United aer 55 minutes. The match was mainly played in the greens half for 15 minutes but then aer 72 minutes, the skilful Jack Gaul (pictured) smashed the ball home from 25 yards. Following this goal the greens looked comfortable.

Another highlight for Kidlington was the introducon of sixteen year old Archie Brew aer 84 minutes. This was a great bonus for the club and shows the direcon the club is
